      @butterchuggins5409 4 месяца назад

      @Megatholis Most of it goes to my chickens, worms, soldier flies, or my compost piles. Plastic gets turned into insulation for buildings. Metal goes to scrap yard for recycling. No trash pick-up service here. I only go to the dump once or twice a year if I have something like motor oil or batteries to dispose of. I definitely don't throw it in the fecking ocean like this missed abortion of a human being.

      @@michaelthompson9548 I think we should be tougher on crime, but ya know what? We aren't due to current policy. So why make an exception for a crime that offends you more than say shoplifting, assault or worse? Because it's an emotional response, not a logical one and people are desensitized to actual crime. It's why you can watch movies were 50 people are killed and it doesn't effect people watching, but if a dog gets killed, it's devastating. Same philosophy you got offended more by teens littering than a real crime that would actually be worthy of jail time. Think.

      Those are some assumptions from a short news video. I didn't see any evidence that there was anything illegal present on that boat. The only illegal act visible in the video shows pollutants being dumped in federally protected waters. It amazes me how there are all these videos of law enforcement "being dirty", but they would likely be for sure if they ran solely on speculation. How about we let those that are the professionals determine the crime and the charges. Hopefully, those that want to throw the book at them, can be selected for the jury. I think that what these young people did was despicable. We have lived on the water, in FL, in the late 90s and early 00s. We were boaters and always brought in far more trash than we brought with us. We are back in FL again, when we go to the beach we always pack a trash bag and take what we can from from the beach. While I see this video, and it infuriates me, I look at it with reality, not fueled emotion. I believe they said a "Class 3 Felony" and those that committed the crime were minors. Don't expect much much from the legal system. The biggest punishment is the public shaming they are getting on SM. I still see people throw trash from their vehicle regularly. I watched, blatantly videoed, two young ladies (with a child), pull to the side of the city street, and empty all the trash from their car. I had video of them doing the act, the vehicle, and the tag. I called the police. I wrote a statement. I filed a complaint. I picked up the trash when the police were done on scene (dirty diapers and all), and I disposed of it. That was over a year ago. Haven't heard or read a thing. What these young people will did in Boca Inlet will likely fade away as quickly as it went viral. The litter problem remains. The part I find the most discouraging is the observation of how many young people protest for a better global climate, while I see their peers destroying what we have tried to clean up for them. I know that it's "only a few", but it's like a cancer, IMO.

Imagine if the cops acted on emotion like people do here? The few cops that do act on emotion end up here being torn apart, probably by the same people calling for long prison sentences and property seizure. Coulda, shoulda, woulda....... Let's let the law handle it. If one doesn't like the outcome, start the process to change the law. Hint: Changing a law doesn't happen on RUclips.... Google it. Thanks @allaboutroofing2 , glad to know there are still some realists out there.

You’re demanding that they be punished more harshly than child predators and rapists? You’ve probably committed a crime at some point in your life, if littering equates to life in prison then you deserve at least 1 year in prison. Set aside your useless emotions and use logic. Community service cleaning beaches and a few thousand dollars in fines seem to fit the crime

I hope their lawyers can get them a reasonable plea and some community service cleaning up the inland waterways where it hurts the most. I don't care if they pumped the trash can in triumph, and are some of the stupidest, egotistical people in Boca Raton ... they shouldn't be felons for the rest of their life.
