Just a heads up, both Premiere and Resolve (studio paid version) can transcribe and automatically cut pauses in app. No need use these third party apps which adds a lot of time to your workflow and costs.
What might be cool is do a back to back flash back of how to do a podcast as if you've never done one before from when you first started to what it's like today?
This is great news. I had to quit my last podcast because I didn't have the bandwidth to edit the episodes. And I didn't want to use the AI features in Premier Pro (Final Cut Pro all day). Now with this I might have to resume the show!
To be honest, I am thinking of doing the same. I am using descript/squadcast and it's a nightmare! I am finding it hard to find a 'real' review. I researched and heard it was great, but I have had nothing but problems with it, each and every week. It's very, very time consuming and frustrating. I can't be the ONLY person having problems with this software??
Holy crap this is awesome, I paused my video podcast because editing took forever. I use Descript at work and I’m going to start playing with it outside of work more. Riverside was my podcasting tool previously but now I am going to dump it for Descript
Love the direction this is all heading. Video switch between active speaker seem to happen too early. Would be cool if you could edit the pad in that transition to tighten things up
Thanks Pat great video! Does Descript/Squadcast protect your information and content? Or are they allowed in the small print to use your info and content if they choose?
Hey Pat, I don't know if you'll see this, but thought you should know. Nate Black just mentioned you in one of his videos calling you his "friend." Nate has been outed as a total scam artist and has done some terrible things to the Income School/Channel Makers guys. I have followed you for a long time and appreciate all you do. Be careful with Nate, he can't be trusted. Check out the article about him on the channel makers website blog roll.
On video tutorials, I have watched tons of vidoe, but found you the best, you really elaborate it very nicely. I need to ask few questions regarding these apps. Do we need to download both apps ? Do they have option of screen recording with face video, as most of time I will be recording it. Do we get such editing tools if our video recording is in Urdu language. Regards !
If you have a RUclips channel and want to start doing video podcasts, should you create a new RUclips Channel or add the podcast videos to your regular RUclips channel? (Same niche)
Hi Pat Thanks for all your great suggestions. So Decript versus Hindenburg pro journalist? Have you worked with both? What’s easier to add music intro and outro and other features vs each other?
I have a question. How do they calculate the hours? Because based on what I read, if you do a 1hr podcast and you have 2 people on separate tracks, they will count that as 2 hrs. That seems very weird and sketchy.
Hi Pat. Thanks for this excellent view. I am just starting out on my channel "The Neurodivergent Test Professional", and have a Motionarray subscription, where i only use the music part and some b-roll. Could replace my Motionarray subscription and still have sufficient b-roll for a newbie ?
I tired Descript right after watching this video. Loved but it but one thing was missing. My upcoming podcast will be in Korean and for Korean audience. Descript cant transcript Korean unfortunately.
@@MyFluentPodcast it will be about golf. Korea’s podcast market is still fairly small. But I am using this as my advantage to learn golf knowledge by interviewing the most skilled professional golfers
@@2080_golfer Wow that sounds like a lot of fun. I also interview people but it's about language learning. Let me know if you know some Korean people who are learning English and want to tell about their language learning (and/or about Korean TV series. Cheers, Daniel.
I wish Descript was around when I was learning podcasting and video editing. It's great for beginners editing based on spoken dialog! But, now that I know actual editing and I've tried Descript, I've found far too many flaws. For example, Descript software updates add features but they frequently change the way the program works and old approaches don't work any more. That means learning Descript is really hard because training videos are sometimes a year or two old and those old ways don't work any more. Also, if you ever want to do some video production that's not focused on dialog, like a few seconds of beautiful images and stylistic transitions, it's really hard to get Descript to do it. Descript has its place but I unsubscribed after a couple months.
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing this Pat. I do have a question: After using these two AI Tools, I still have to have a podcast hosting company like Libsyn (or example), correct? So those two AI tools are focused on the editing, and transcribing part rather than the hosting and distribution aspect of podcasting. Hope I am getting this right. Thank you :)
Thanks for demo, one question if anyone knows; can you go from the template version (showing both speaker) and then also show full screen active speaker? It would be ideal to mix it up in the edit, I couldn't quite see how to do this though, but it must be possible?!
@@patflynn I have learned so much from you over several years!! I'm now about to launch my own podcast in November, about Coffee and Comedy with my alter ego, Joe Caffeine. And, I am so pumped!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, brother!!
Out of curiosity, do you find this software to crash constantly? Been trying to get this to work, and it has been a nightmare. Any specifics you’ve heard to help this software work better? Certain browser? I can’t download the app on any device, and customer service is very difficult to contact. Could you nudge someone to potentially reach out?
Too bad tools like this won't save you from sounding dumb, doxxing yourself, saying something considered offensive, having audio that is unpleasant to listen to and a whole raft of other things an actual Editor can save you from
