Holy moly you actually did it... how are you this capable of editing? I get tired after spending an hour editing a 60s youtube short. Bravo as always Nathan ❤
Working on music production, mixing, and recording the video at the same time is really hard. Preparing our minds to do this kind of work is itself a huge pressure. It’s also a frustrating job. I’m seriously amazed by your commitment to documenting the whole process. Salute to you, man! I’m subscribing now for your incredible effort, my friend. Love from India. 👏👏👏😍
Just ordered the essentials to start my producing journey!! Tbh never expected this but you and Tommee both have me more interested in producing cinematic than I ever thought I would be. Cheers!!
Absolutely epic. Both the video and the song. Thank you so much for making this. I'm going to have to watch the whole thing again several times. Simply amazing to watch a true pro at work.
This is awesome. I remember your last long vocal video you did when you were coaching the artist, which I thought was great, but this one is much more applicable to me who records all my own vocals (for now). PS- it took me over an hour and a half and into the harmony section to figure out what the heck you were saying with the “a thief by heart and definition”, because my brain just did not compute that as anything but a percussive phrase 😅
2:20 you can just take only the audio from the screen recorded video and just bring it to the right time. And of course it's not worth scraping up a video and thank you for letting us know!
Hi Nathan, what’s the fee for the producer development program? Couldn’t find it on the link, so asking here. Also - love all your videos. Thank you so much!
Glad you love the videos - as far as price goes it depends a bit on what you need which is why we have a call as a part of the process. If you schedule a call we can walk through it with you and see if you're a good fit and if not we have a couple options for ya.
@@NathanJamesLarsen Understood! Also noticed, the producer accelerator 2.0 course is shutting entries from Jan 1st, so will there be a new course releasing to replace the same? Or would you recommend this one itself? Planning to join but don’t want to miss out on an updated new course, so wanted to understand the same. Will wait for your revert. Cheers!
I pretty much never mix with the instrumental separate like in this video - I did it here to simplify what we are looking at and not make it confusing - but I almost always mix vocals WITH the instrumental in the same session so I can modify how the instrumental reactions / integrates with the vocals. I felt for this video it'd be better to simplify a bit!
hi Nathan. Your videos have been such a guide for my music journey. I would like to know how to make LESS sound MORE while making a song. Without complicated instrument arrangement I would like to know how to make song feel full with less instruments involved.Thank you!
@ thank you! I’m like 1.5 hours into this video lol, even though it’s not rap I’m deff learning alot more in sharpening what I know! Love your videos man. From where I started to where I am now as an artist I’ve used your help 🫱🏾🫲🏽
I do like to use Autotune or Slate Tune, but I set it to a very humanized setting then run melodyne in front of it for easier tweaking and lightening the workload.
Great Video. For my Taste its a little bit to much of Align and tuning to the Main Vox. The real Life is a bit lost in the final Take for my taste.. But as you said, its just one persons taste. And we all listen or feel a little bit different. But its a cool Track. And I know exactly what you mean and feel at the end of your Video..:) After the endless work of hearing the Songs more than 100 Times and search for perfectness… We all hate our own Songs for a little Moment😅 Be blessed and greetings from Switzerland. You are a great musician🫶
Yeah we all have our preferences - with a dark pop / alt pop song like this I'm good pushing the tuning a bit harder than if it was something like a ballad where it's a lot more exposed. Glad you found value in it overall!
Why keep the windscreen on if you're using a pop filter? The pop filter alone would work fine. And like you said, the windscreen isn't effective. All it's doing is dulling the top end.
Okay.... So I just bought "Repitch Standard" & is it just me or is that pluggin INSANELY Glitchy....??? Like what the pluggin CAN do in forms of changing your pitch & literally changing a specific letter that you are managing to sing fals which is insanely good. But the Pluggin itself is SO Glitchy!!!! I can't edit vocals more then 15 minutes without having that damn pluggin freecking out & all of a sudden it can't even scan the vocals or all previous editing is gone...... Insanely irritating
@@Filipurelindmusic are you not using ARA? I've personally never had it be glitchy. I have to use Rosetta Mode in Logic now in order to use ARA mode. Give that a go if you haven't.
@@NathanJamesLarsen Eyyy awesome man that you reply to comments :D I watched a ton of your videos they are really helpful:) But yes I use both ARA & Rosetta mode:/ This is the notice I get from Logic every time before my previous work vanish. "Region cannot be processed. One or more regions on one or more tracks cannot be processed by ARA. Apple Loops, compressed audio files, and reversed regions cannot be processed, nor can regions on a track with Flex active. You can bounce the region in place or to another track, then try processing the bounced region."
@ make sure flex is not enabled - sometimes it gets turn on if you accident hit "Q" which happens a lot by accident. So you must manually turn it off - give that a shot. Hope it works for you
@@NathanJamesLarsen Okay I worked a lot with this pluggin now & I totally get the point, its literally phenomenal since you can control each not in details etc. But I think it gives SUCH a autotune sound to the vocals once your done with the pitching. & I get it then I havenr probably done a enough of a good job... But I tried SO hard to make it sound relistic & I think even Flexpitch sounds better then this pluggin.... Its insane dosent mather how good the takes are from the beggining but at the end mamma mia its a lot of Autotune sound to it... Idk maybe I suck.. but yeah lol Thanks a lot for a really good chanel & keep it up

Are you going to put a version out where it's just your vocals cuz I prefer yours.

Love ur videos, I'm a young producer.
be yourself and be original music is not mixing
Interesting video. With your mixing approach, do you usually mix the instrumental on its own or mix everything in context with all the vocals?

Which Daw are you using?
Apparently, you can use the beat maker feature to align vocals for you the same way Vocalign would do
F**king awesome!

Hey Nathan would purchase revoice pro or the bundle repitch + vocalign?
hey thanks for this bro.... What Audio interface did you use to track the vocals??
Focusrite Clarett + 8Pre - but unless you are using an old and super cheap interface that should not matter.
@@NathanJamesLarsen oh ok cool i just got the Antelope Audio ZenGo
@@jasongartistry yeah I actually have that interface and I honestly love it - the DSP is great. That's my go-to travel interface.
