It's so cool watching this journey! I've been a viewer for years, but this video and the last one really hit close to home for me.
I lived in Quebec the last 6 years (and loved it - they don't call it "la belle province" for nothing!) and did a cross-Canada road trip about this same time last year in a little Mazda Sport. Also used iOverlander to find some really cool, free wildcamping spots! And, I actually remember stopping my car at this same spot you guys spent the night, to get out and admire the view. Lake Superior is incredible!

A few things to consider. That is nice and small to get around with. You need 20 feet / 6.096 meters or longer to not have the toilet in the shower. Sounds like a Murphy bed will be perfect for you and then RV. The fifth wheel will give you the most place for the shortest length.

Now you see my logic of camping out of my old Sorento instead of buying a Class B/B+/or C -- although I can't bellieve you found gas for 1.50!!! Currently in the GVRD it's 1.83 - 1.85! But I'm glad you two(or three) are comfortable. Also our overnight lows here are around 17C this week and daytime highs are running into the low 30s.
Another option for transporting the Prius would have been to ship it via rail to Calgary - not sure if it would have been cheaper than driving it actually, but might have been an idea nonetheless.
Thanks for another charming and informative video!
    Cheers!...from North Vancouver
PS- If the Class C works for you, but you want to keep it lighter and easier on gas, you might find an old Winnebago LeSharo to retrofit with a small (Chrysler or Nissan)V6 (originally came with a 2.5L renault 4 cyl and fwd). The LeSharo is the precursor to the VW Rialta and mostly differs in the chassis/ drivetrain.

Check it out.. not that far from BC. 😉 Come before baby one is born. And come visit Larry at Trout Wrangler Lodge at Lunbreck. Why don't you put your heads at the other end of the bunk? Then Leah will be on the right side for bathroom access!

I'll skip most of the towing discussion given that you go over it in the video. However, there is another reason why you might have wanted to go with a larger RV: your expanding family. I'm not certain the size you rented would be the size you want after your child is born. If you had not considered that, you might have gone with something larger, which may have been large enough to tow the Prius.

@@LeahandLeviI do get the reason why you're renting different RVs. And I'm sorry. Sometimes my mind gets caught up on a topic and I need to get my thoughts out. So please don't consider this advice to you. Rather this is what I would find important if I had to relive my experiences in an RV. While you might benefit from these thoughts, I'm also writing this down as a way to help get them out of my head. You can stop reading at any time. However, it could help you think about some things you might want to be looking for in an RV. If you want visual aids, look up the Winnebago View. That is the layout I would probably get, but this is not an endorsement.
I should preface all this by saying I do not have children myself , but was around a few when two of my sisters had children, which did include night time feedings and diaper changes.
What I would consider highest priority is having a dedicated space that is always ready to lay down a sleeping child. There were times I was watching 3 children under the age of three, so I might be putting a little too much importance on this, but I would certainly go for the floor plan with the rear queen bed for a child unil they were old enough to not take regular naps, then possibly considers different sleeping arrangements. The floor plan with the Murphy bed might work too, but I don't know if I would be able to ready that kind of space while trying to deal with a child who is already or about to fall asleep.
The next thing I would consider is where child safety seats can be placed. It looks like there were seat belts by the table, but I don't think I would want to have a child so far away and isolated. I would prefer if the RV had safety seat latches, because I found it easier to put in and take out safety seats with those rather than the using the seat belt method.
The last thing I would be considering is having a comfortable space for myself. Not just to sleep, but also make it easy go from where I am to a child that needs attention. Not just when the child needs feeding or changing in the middle of the night, but if the kid is ever sick or whenever I get sick. Plus, having an extra place I can turn into a more luxurious bed from time to time would be nice too.
Again, sorry about the long comment. Obviously there's a lot more to consider when making a large purchase like an RV, but I do hope you can gleam some insight from my ramblings and don't feel pressured by anything I said. Everyone's preferences in a home is different.

I don’t like pooping in an RV. I would rather dig a hole or visit a public toilet. The idea of hauling sh-t along with me is gross. I think you may find a camper van more affordable and equally as comfortable until your baby is older. You could travel with a young child for many years. The motor homes are expensive to run. You could pay for a motel with what gas is going to cost you to drive a motor home.
