- When Miranda contacted me via my socials to invite me for a dip in a secret turquoise clear water chalk stream I couldn’t resist. Joined by Karen they took me to their secret swim spot which turned out to be quite unexpected. It was a really special place for a swoosh and swirl with internet friends.

Rachel that was fabulous! What a super swim spot. Thank you Miranda and Karen for sharing it with Rachel and us! I so enjoyed watching it. You are so lucky to have that on your doorstep! Do you know roughly what the temperature was? My guess it was pretty chilly being fast flowing water? It looks like you back is much better Rachel! I'm so happy you are back enjoying the water again.
Funnily enough a couple of weeks after this I caught flu and it took a dog's age to get over! It wasn't on my doorstep, I drove east for a couple of hours to meet them x

The colour was amazing, even on a cloudy day. I've only ever seen similar in mountainous areas.
Its dropped quite a bit over the last few weeks and there's no swoosh there anymore. However, the greenery is very lush and there's birdsong all around. A completely different vibe but still wonderful. I hope there will be enough water to swim in it by my birthday at the end of the month.
Hope it hangs on for you, although, does that mean more rain?

The internet can be a troublesome place, but with that said, this video is a testament to all the amazing opportunities the internet provides for like-minded people to connect. I love the fun and the friendship, and of course, the colour of the water. Would you call it aquamarine? That’s what it looks like to me, but then again, I’m no jeweller or gemstone specialist. I’m just wondering if y’all felt like you were 16 once again during your amazing swim adventure? Thanks for sharing the fun times. PS - I loved the cute little bottles of milk that you had with your tea… I’ve never seen anything so cute!! Ⓜary💦

What a fantastic and very inviting colour. Watching your video made me smile because the fun of swooshing in that clear and presumably very cold water came straight across. Is the ground chalky, I wonder? Because that would explain the colour so unusual in the surroundings. There are similar little streams near where I live but the colour is always brownish from the surrounding moors.
Yes, it is a chalk stream and the ones around here look clear as a bell too. They are very cold though!
I went sea swimming Saturday & Sunday. The coldest I’ve ever been in 4.1c. Only stayed in 3 minutes 🥶

Hi that water looks so clean it can only be polluted. It looks to me like Derbyshire lime making . You should test the ph it could be very caustic. Use litmus paper
It is a chalk stream in the South Downs. The water quality is the same in chalk streams in Hampshire too 😀🏊♀️
