I have been wanting to shave my head for so long. Every man I have been with has told me not to. I totally understand where these women come from.
I know how you feel. I've had all kinds of haircuts including side shaves and gave zero shits about what anyone thought. However, my boyfriend has pressured me out of going this last step many times. It's bad enough that "soeciety" is putting this pressure on us; it shouldn't be loved ones.
but they can have self control over what they vocalize. a womens stole purpose is not to look pretty for their partners/husbands/boyfriends ect.

Yea. It was hard knowing my long term bf (now fiancé) hated me having short pixie hair. Part of me regretted cutting it and wishing it would grow faster. Then i realized why should i change the way i look cause of a guy. He eventually got used to it after a year and he cant really picture me having longer hair anymore. ANYWAYS now i have a buzzed 1.5 inch haircut and happy with it. Dont let guys influence your looks unless its something harmful but if not (like cutting hair) do it! If he dumps you then he wasnt meant to be and only wants superficial qualities and not your personality.

That's because she was the only one who actually loved her "haircut". She had a big smile on her face and was radiating. Other two were obviously looking lost and unsure. Beauty really is within.

its not shaving its just cutting hear really short, shaving is using a razor and taking the hair off down to the scalp

This is so important to remember - your hair is not your identity. I keep forgetting this myself all the time, and I'm constantly looking for different styles cause I easily get bored with how I look.
Maybe if I actually shave my hair off, I would stop obsessing so much of the hair I now I have, which is super damaged from years of colouring and bleaching..
I say if you want to do it, do it! I shaved my head about 8 months ago and I'm so happy I did it. And I totally agree with you; your hair does not define you. And whether you keep it shaved or grow it out again, more power to you. :)

I SO appreciate this. For years, this has been on my bucket list but I never had the courage to do it. My life has moved quickly in the past few years, having two beautiful babies and battling PPD. I've done so much with my hair and been defined by it and lately, just not found myself to be beautiful. And I decided that now is my time. To think inward, to free myself from typical beauty standards and to own who I am as a mother, as a wife, as a woman and a human being. Starting from scratch and starting the next chapter of my life. I thank everyone for their inspiring stories. Shameless. Happy. Free.
I've been shaving my head on and off for a few years now and I have to say lately with all of these celebrities doing it, it has become more trendy and I don't get the odd looks, or people thinking I'm sick that I used to. I love it! It makes me feel free and happy. one less thing to think about.
Shaving my head taught me that the beginning of confidence is not needing to look pretty to be valuable
The message of your hair is not your identity is big and is something I personally resonate with very strongly. I personally feel more comfortable and more myself with short hair. But for years I had long hair, almost down to my waist, even if I didn’t feel completely me. All the compliments I got were on my long hair, how my hair made me look pretty. And whenever I’d mention cutting it people would tell me not to that I’d ruin myself and all. That I look prettier with long hair. People were valuing me based on my hair and I felt as if they liked my hair but not the person behind it. It took me a long time to get the nerve to cut it as I sulked in the fear of not being pretty or attractive to anyone. But I eventually learned that none of that matters. I don’t have to fit a standard, I don’t have to be pretty for others. Screw standards and screw all those people who told me those things and who think less of me or my appearance based on my hair length and style. I eventually cut my hair. And I did it for me. It was so freeing. I finally felt like myself and I felt empowered as I had done it for no one but myself and solely because I wanted to. Now every time my hair starts to grow, I always get comments of how I should let it go long because I’d look so pretty... those are the first people I’ll be sure to send photos to when I go and get my hair cut shorter again. 😉💞
Long hair, on average, enhances beauty by 2-3 points. Exceptions are few, and just that, exceptions.
doing this was the best decision I've ever made ! I've been shaving my hair for two years now, and I always grow it out a bit after each cut so I'll get the thrill of cutting it again, I love it so much
I'm growing my hair out now from cutting it all off- my parents freaked out and hated it- and I'm realizing now that I honestly prefer having short hair. It blocks my face when it's long. Cutting it off made me appreciate the rest of my face more because there were no distractions from it.
If you like your hair short, then keep it short
I also had short hair for like 10 years i think and now i've been letting it grow long but i realize that it doesn't suit me but i decided to wait a bit and let it grow more before cutting it all off to be able to give my hair for an association who makes wigs for sick people who needs it. 😊
1:14 this reminds me when i cut my hair really short some weeks ago and a guy asked me “why did you cut your hair? us guys don’t like it when girls cut their hair, besides you looked better with your long hair” i was like, excuse me? do i really have to satisfy you guys’ stereotypical it girl? i did this for myself because i wanted to.

I shaved my head for the first time in February. It’s an amazing experience. I found out that most of the time you will attract the energy you are projecting. There will always be people who think you are weird, but mostly you will get compliments. :)

They all look so adorable! Oh my goodness, I love their shaved head. Yes, they were gorgeous before. But this is a whole different kind of gorgeous, and I love this new gorgeous. All three of them are killing this look, just beautiful.

99% of the time, a buzz cut or shave drains a woman's sex appeal. I do know one black woman who is the incredible exception, however.
I honestly think people with shaved heads are gorgeous, because it enhances their facial features so much more and it's just really nice and minimalistic.

I have a habit of hiding behind my hair. I wanna do this but I don't think I'm brave enough just yet.
I'm glad to say that i will be shaving off my hair tomorrow. I've always wanted to cut off all my hair and i got to go from having shoulder length hair to a pixie and today i just started cutting it for no reason. I honestly can't wait it'll be a big step for me but i'm looking forward to it.

I needed to shave my head due to severe hair loss. I admit I cried on the way to the beautician, in the parking lot, and the first shave was hand holding, tears, the works. Now months later and others suggesting wigs or whatnot. I still wear the beanies. But that’s okay too. Beauty is not defined by exterior. Beauty explodes from who YOU are. And as for the judgement of others. You find out the truth about everyone else. If you need or want to go bald? Go for it. Without fear, without shame. Your hair or lack there of is NOT who you are. People will stare and ask some really personal questions. Go for it - get your sarcasm on.

Im 15 years old and I shaved my head for the first time 4 days ago, I needed a change. I didn’t wanted to look beautiful, I didn’t shave for other ppl. I did it for myself and if you do something that means a lot for yourself then that’s the only thing that matters and being truth to yourself it’s beautiful.

every girl i saw who shaved her head looked incredibly stunning and pretty. i think i wouldn't be that confident to loose all my hair bc most of the time i hide behind it. idk if it would even look good on me. ughh
I do agree with Patrick patick their hair was just cut extremely short they weren't really shaved. now if they had a straight razor used on them and their scalp was smooth then they could say they had their head shaved.

I’ve never liked my hair. It’s not straight but it’s not curly either and I’ve hated it since I was a child, always trying stuff to make it straight and feeling self conscious about it. Now I’m 15yo and think I’ll just shave it all off, grow it back naturally and keep it the way it is ✨

But their hair isn't shaven, it's cropped really, really short. A shaved head is down to the skin with no hair left, but they still have hair. Therefore, I think the title of this video should say "Women Get A Buzz Cut For The First Time."

A buzz cut feels WONDERFUL! I have a buzz cut (yes, I'm female) and I've gotten tons of compliments on it. No need to worry about a bad hair day, cz it looks good literally 24/7. Washing it is a breeze. True, you can't hide behind anything, so instead.... STRUT!
If you've thought of it but are afraid, trust me when I say that I think you'll love it. It feels shower fresh all day long! You know that good feeling when the wind hits your scalp? Imagine that same wind cooling your entire head? It's sooo nice. If you don't like it, it'll grow back. But really, women do look nice in a buzz, especially with makeup and earrings. :)

Sara Meyer I've got a lot of weight to lose, and it still looks good. :) I was afraid of that, I thought I'd wind up looking like wrestler, lol. If your neck shows nicely with hair, it should be all right without hair. :)

I shaved my head too and it was a really beautiful and inspiring experience every woman should have
when I decided to do it I watch some videos on RUclips about dos and don'ts to do it but the advantages just convinced me and I take the machine and cut all my hair to 3mm the feeling I have now and the feedback I get are so positive I'm proud of myself and even feel prettier as all the time
every woman who thinks no man look at a her or think she's ugly or something else negative I must say why are you caring about what they think when your man or any other person says no don't do it I want stand by your side I only can say so fine than go!! when you want to do it then do it the only person who must love you be yourself and you will love yourself more when you do it :) that was my Experience

This helped me a lot, I'm a junior in high school and I want to shave my head and I keep thinking "Should I shave my head, like literally be bald, is it worth it, will I be made fun of, what if I don't like it and regret it, is this really what I want" and I'm still terrified but this help lessen my fear

Well, you can't really stop people from having opinions or preferences though. As a guy with long hair, some people like it, some don't. If a woman thinks it's unattractive or whatever, fine as long as she isn't rude about it. Nobody likes everything anyway so...

When I get the chance to do a full head shave on someone, I do it the same exact way that he did... I take the Scissors and take the hair down as close as I possibly can, then clean up any left over stubble, and around the ears & neckline with a Trimmer, and then use an electric razor, not a Trimmer, or Clippers, but an electric razor to finish the job, and make that head just as smooth as a new born Baby's Bottom.

I just shaved my head, and I can say it was a wonderful experience and I am in no way sorry I did it. Why is it okay for a man to shave his head but not a woman? Why do we have to spend so much time on the beautifying the outside, when it's always the inside that people value. Be true to yourself. Take the leap. Shave your head if you feel like it, and screw what other people think.
Most men find sexy long hair on a woman exceptionally beautiful, magical. It is "OK" to shave your hair. You did it, and no one jailed you. When I see a woman with a crewcut or headshave, I suspect issues, either medical or mental. Hey, I don't even think that buzz cuts look good on most guys, and I don't give a whit about what men look like.
