This is my favourite Hitchcock movie. I only watched it the other day actually, dont know how many times I've seen it. Cary Grant's my favourite actor. So charming and handsome :] So Hitchcock, Cary and Ingrid in one movie's bound to be incredible..and it is :]
Such a fine movie. Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman and Claude Rains at their best in an Alfred Hitchcock thriller. They don't make films like this any more. And how could they? Who among today's stars could replace either of those actors?
Ingrid Bergman, one of the most beautiful women ever to grace the silver screen: 5:01 onwards. I kept re-winding certain scenes she is in just to study her more closely. Bergman and Grant, what a combination. One of Mr Hitchcock's best: #128 in IMDb's "Top 250".
Call it "old school" but these were the 'golden days of moviemaking' Superb actors, Fabulous scriptwriting and the absolute best director--Mr Alfred Hitchcock!
Love the movie..ty for posting. Sydney Pollack did an intro for this movie on Turner Classic-the essentials. In his introduction he praised this film as one of the best with the story line being the ultimate ploy to keep lovers apart. He claimed this as one of Bergman's sexiest performances and mentions Cary Grant's sophistication always debonair. He also speaks to the direction of Alfred Hitchcock and how superb his vision was. This is a brilliantly directed and beautifully acted movie.
Curiously enough, neither Cary Grant nor Hitchcock won any Oscar but for me he was one of the best actors all time and he one of the best directors, I guess it is the same for a huge audience. Isn't it? Sometimes the entertainment industry is unfair.
I just saw this on a big screen for the first time. AMAZING. You miss so much on a TV or computer screen. Check it out if you can! There are nuances in the performances that you utterly miss on a small screen
Interesting. Cary was 42 and Ingrid 31. The Golden Age of Hollywood - when movie stars were adults and not teeyboppers ;) Also lol @ Cary's casual acceptance of Ingrid's demand to do the driving....even tho she can barely stand!
You know, I have always liked classic movies, and actresses like Bergman in particular (who, in my opinion, was one of the most breathtaking in cinema). Notorious always has been one of my favorite films with her in it, and the above scene is an example as to why. In this scene, it obvious that she is very drunk, but yet the way she delivers the line about going on a picnic is probably one of the most exotic (if not bordering on erotic) I have heard come from her lips. She was incredible.
Well, idk.. black and white movies are way better than the movies we see nowadays.. I really cannot say what it is.. but there is something more in this old movies..
Among his motion pictures, would place 'Vertigo' alone above this sophisticated thriller, with the master at the top of his skillfully perverse, audience-manipulating, entertainment game. Own the Criterion issue already, but certainly will enjoy watching it again, here. Thank you.
Thank you Cary, Ingrid, and Alfred. Pure entertainment! May I point-out an observation regarding a place name mentioned in the screenplay and the name of a member of the acting cast. When you know this you'll understand why the full name was not displayed in the credits. That name is LEOPOLDINE.
@kdepinalex None could ever come close to replacing them...but Isabella Rosselini is almost a deadringer for her mother Ingird Bergman, she even sounds slike her mother when she talks sometimes.
@Strawberry7Lynn It was the norm back then for everyone to smoke. He actually died of a stroke in 1986 at the age of 82 when by then, most of his colleagues from that era had already passed on so compared to Humphrey Bogart (who died in 1957 by lung cancer), Clark Gable (heart attack in 1961). Cary was one of the more healthier actors
Cary Grant stopped smoking & drinking heavily during his marriage to Betsy Drake. Also a major difference b/t him & the other actors of his generation was the fact that he spent yrs as an acrobat in Pender group & exercised his entire life
This is the only unedited version of Notorious on YT. The other streaming channels have inexplicably cut out several minutes of dialog. If it is done to thwart copyright bots I wasn't aware they were so easily fooled.
It is something that is integral to the character's in the movie but it means nothing to the viewer in terms of the plot. Its'what drives the characters.
@gremashlo Sorry my English is not very good, and I heard Cary ask "Dont ýou need a goat?" and the reply made no sense "you'll do". Thanks to your comment, I undestood the dialogue.
@zshoonander I agree with your last point about rewarding artistic integrity over what is box office. But the power of the studios is paramount (no pun intended). Hollywood has only ever cared about what brings in the crowds - well, they've got a living to earn. But that's why so many great directors remain obscure - to most people anyway.
What was it with Hitchcock and speeding? This scene is repeated in "To Catch a thief" (Cary Grant and Grace Kelly - who sadly, died in a crash on the same stretch of road in the South of France) - then there's "Suspicion" (Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine skidding around hairpin bends) then Cary Grant, on his own, in North by Northwest after being filled with whisky by the villain, James Mason (or his henchmen).
@LadyKant987 it has little to do with the lack of color and everything to do with character buidup, good storylines, good writing, and actors that actually play their parts well! Today, there is very little creativity and few actors of any significant talent. Back then also, there were really no significant sound effects or hi-tech visual stuff, so the scripts, directors, and the actors had to grab the audience with actual skill.....peace
Does anyone know why the video quality is so poor? I watched Casablanca recently, which had much better picture quality and was supposedly made in 1942.
This is my favourite Hitchcock movie. I only watched it the other day actually, dont know how many times I've seen it.
Cary Grant's my favourite actor. So charming and handsome :]

Hitchcock Bergman and Grant >>> perfect combination for a classic movie night ;)
This is one of my most favourite Hitchcock movies.. one of his most underated works..
Ohmyword, it's great to see this movie is up on RUclips. One of my absolute favorites of all time.
Ingrid looks so beautiful here. I love that half shirt/skirt outfit!
Notorious is my favourite film, Ingrid and Cary are my favourite actors, and Hitch is an adorable genius!!
Thank you very much :)
I love old movies. I love RUclips. I love people who post these movies on RUclips. Thank you very very much!
Oh Alfred Hitchcock and his sneaky ways of putting himself indiscreetly in every movie :)
Hitchcock's movie Notorious is a poem to Ingrid Bergman's face.
Sexiest line ever: CARY--"Don't you need a coat?" INGRID--"You'll do."
The skill of some of old producers is amazing.
Zero special modern effects, just pure acting!
But still splendid to watch even now!
Cary Grant. You can tell it's him without even seeing his face.xoxoxo!
You don't know how much I love this movie. A big thanks to you for uploading.
I'm 14 and this is one of my favorite movies
Call it "old school" but these were the 'golden days of moviemaking' Superb actors, Fabulous scriptwriting and the absolute best director--Mr Alfred Hitchcock!
"my car is outside" "naturally" this dude is smoooth XD
@Rita3500
It's like an overload on the senses...you almost could die from watching their talent and beauty on the screen together!!!

my favorite ingrid bergman movie

I've grown to be an admirer of Hitchcock films.I especially like the way they look. That Hollywood staged look.Perfectly controlled and set up.
Call me "corny" but I L-O-V-E elegance & sophistication in my actors AND Ingrid & Cary had it in SPADES:D
I just saw this on a big screen for the first time. AMAZING. You miss so much on a TV or computer screen. Check it out if you can!

Ooooooooo Cary Grant AND Ingrid Bergman? Tell me it's to good to be true! XD
Films from the noir genre have such a vibe! I will always love them!
That two inches of Bergman's midriff promises so much...
"My car is outside." "Naturally." Hilarious.
"What about...we have a picnic" Hands down, the best non sequitur in film history.
@scales57 well that is true! Oh how I miss these movies.. how I miss the Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, Audrey Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart...
Its amazing how they woild rather the films lye unseen in a dusty shelf than be enjoyed by the people who made them stars!!
I was in the mood for Notorious and here it is *big smile*. TQ for posting
Always gonna love this film AND TCM will be showing it on Ingrid's "Summer Under The Stars" day, 08/25, at 8:00 PM.
Interesting. Cary was 42 and Ingrid 31. The Golden Age of Hollywood - when movie stars were adults and not teeyboppers ;)
Also lol @ Cary's casual acceptance of Ingrid's demand to do the driving....even tho she can barely stand!
good old classic movies,thank you
Cary grant. man! What a hunk! :P only if he were alive still

I wish I could go back in time too; also Cary Grant is a man.
Kallen Sullivan oh yes me too and yes Cary Grant was the man of grace and charisma, debonair! I wish I could have met him. He’s so lovable 😍
Thank you for posting this! It's one of Hitchcock, Bergman, AND Grant's best films! ;)
cary grant... oh so handsome...
"People like you ought to be in bed." LOL
Favorite Hitchcock film. Thanks so much for posting.
One of Hitchcocks best movies.
thank you sooo much!!! Love this film, one of the great classics!! Love Alfred Hitchcock, love Cary Grant, love Ingrid Bergman!!
Dude, this is ripped from the Criterion dvd! Props, man, that's become super rare after it went out of print
thanks
Claude Rains is just awesome
Cary Grant would be great James Bond if only this series was made at this time.
He was the 1st asked to be James Bond but would only commit to 1 movie. He felt he was too old
im loving these old movies, thanks!!!
Thanksfor uploading,great movie!!
two mega stars
@ZZAAN84
I totally agree. Ingrid is Glorious in Notorious.
That's a pretty magical review mirror. It's black until you tilt it... then it's like a nice LED TV screen :P
I thank you for your movie post. Women back then had real woman's curves and acting was real then too. Thanks for the post again.
Why can't men today be more like Cary Grant??? I wish i lived in the 40's 50's & 60's
GREAT film
Ms. Bergmnan's date of birth indeed was August 29th (1915). Best to you indeed. And thank you for the reminder, 'Vegie.'
Thank you for posting this-- I've been trying to find it for a while now :).
Great movie!
these women have really nice hairstyles
At work watching!!! So excited!!!
Oh and theres also the fact that she's driving like an absolute lunitic..oh and she says shes drunk.. bit of a give away :p
lol.. Cary really has had some crazy drivers in Hitch's movies.. (like Grace in To carch a thief)
Love you!!!!
You're quite a boy! I couldn't agree more, Ingrid!
THANK YOU !!! for uploading you are a gem :D
Apparently, the last scenes of the movie are a reversal of sorts of the first scenes. Something to keep in mind when you get there.
Thanks for uploading! I'm excited to watch!
Thank you so much for those vids!! :)
yay!!! im the exact age and adore this movie!!!
Well, idk.. black and white movies are way better than the movies we see nowadays.. I really cannot say what it is.. but there is something more in this old movies..
1:22 "April 24, 1946..." April 24 is my birthday! (though I was born some years later...) 🙂
Incantevole, sublime...
Among his motion pictures, would place 'Vertigo' alone above this sophisticated thriller, with the master at the top of his skillfully perverse, audience-manipulating, entertainment game. Own the Criterion issue already, but certainly will enjoy watching it again, here. Thank you.

excellent :-)
Woah, she got good abs.
@kdepinalex
None could ever come close to replacing them...but Isabella Rosselini is almost a deadringer for her mother Ingird Bergman, she even sounds slike her mother when she talks sometimes.
Cary Grant...UNF. UNF UNF UNF.
Wonderful film.

They'd never make this today: drunk driving AND no seatbelts!! Think of the children!
6:35 watch where he balances the cup
Melkor717 😂😂
Ingrid Bergman.....oh if only
This is the only unedited version of Notorious on YT. The other streaming channels have inexplicably cut out several minutes of dialog. If it is done to thwart copyright bots I wasn't aware they were so easily fooled.
@shaolin95
for my part, i wish i looked as "dorky" as cary grant!
first thing i'd do would be to go for a walk and see what happens.
@marekerhardt say it aint so!!!!!
No remake please.
DREAMY!!!!!! -oh wow-
Did the cop look at Ingrid Bergman and say to Cary Grant "Drunk, huh?"
Lmao
It is something that is integral to the character's in the movie but it means nothing to the viewer in terms of the plot. Its'what drives the characters.
After watching this, watch Tom Cruise and Thandie Newton in Mission Impossible 2. Most of it was highjacked from this!
@68buickwildcat I love them too but if the government regulates the Internet these movies might be gone. I hope YT keeps them.
I enjoyed every minute of Alex Minolta
@gremashlo Sorry my English is not very good, and I heard Cary ask "Dont ýou need a goat?" and the reply made no sense "you'll do". Thanks to your comment, I undestood the dialogue.

@shaolin95
ha!
if it happens to both of us on the same day we should have a contest!
where is part 3?
@LadyKant987 it has little to do with the lack of color and everything to do with character buidup, good storylines, good writing, and actors that actually play their parts well! Oh yes they would! And it would star Paris Hilton ;)
