  • Germinating succulent leaves will depend a lot on location. The propagation process can be the same with a lot of Succulent Genus such as Echeveria, Pachyphytum, Sedum and Graptopetalum, just to name a few. Growth rate will depend on season, dormancy, temperature, location and specific species, hybrids and cultivars.

    Good morning from NY! You chill me out so much whenever I watch you in your succulent garden. I feel like I just sat and had a cup of coffee and a sandwich with you. Your endless waffling about succulents is such a delight for me. iWaffle too when I am excited about something... I mean that in the nicest way possible. Thank you for your endless vigor and encouragement. You're a gem and I love you and your casual teaching style.
    I do have a question for you. Have you posted video on how you drill your glazed ceramics? That big ole hole is so beautifully done and I am wondering how you pull this off without cracking the ceramic. I have a couple of planters that I would love to use but they have no drainage. I think I need some trusted advice and encouragement to edge myself closer to taking a masonry bit to them

    Hello, Liz! I love your content. In your experience what is the lowest temperature succulents can be left outside in?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 года назад

      Depends on the succulent. Some like Sempervivum, some sedum, Orostachys, some agave, can be covered with snow and die off but will come back in spring.
      The coldest my succulents in my garden have experienced and survived is -11°C | 12.2°F.

      You're welcome Weng. You have 8 to 9 months of the year to grow them outside and bring them inside in Winter. Plenty of time to color them up. You can also grow them indoors with a grow light to maintain the color.

    Liz, what season( month ) did you propagate tinkerbelle? It’s pretty!!!

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 года назад

      March 14, 2022 is Autumn(March, April, May) in Australia(Southern hemisphere), is when I took the leaves and cutting. It can be confusing if you're in the Northern hemisphere (AUTUMN is Sept, Oct, Nov) because our seasons are reverse. The season doesn't change worldwide. The month is not relevant because it's dependent whether you're in the Northern or Southern hemisphere.
      If a plant is dormant in summer for example....it means its dormant in Northern hemisphere Summer(June, July, August) and also dormant in Southern Hemisphere Summer(December, January, February).

    Hi Liz
    I received my first set of succulent. Well ra5ed vendor. Shallow treys, good dirt etc. HOWEVER they came larger than I expected. Not just tiny leaves. Should I break them all apart and start propergating in nice dirt OR bury them a bit in shallow dirt, and see if these get bigger, THEN I break them apart? Thoughts?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Год назад

      If they come in cluster, best time to separate and propagate. If they're single big plant, I would try to get a leaf or two from the bottom and then plant them in big pot to grow.

    Hi Liz,
    I noticed you have them on paper towels to dry out and then grow roots. I thought they had to dry out for a few days then can be laid in soil?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 года назад +1

      They can be laid in soil directly after harvest as long as they don't get watered immediately or wet when they haven't got any roots, since that's the fastest way to rot them.

  • @ItsKitoSan

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 года назад +1

      There are many GENUS of succulents and it'll be impossible for me to list all of them here. Growth rate will depend on season, dormancy, temperature, location and specific species, hybrids and cultivars. Leaves also needs light to grow.
