My M4 will be in my hands tomorrow. I ordered the red to match my M2 evo. I come from the RC car community. Been building since the 80s. Never built a Heli but it does not look to complicated. Honestly I wish I fly as well as I build, but like you it is journey for me. Off topic, I noticed you are from Bad Homberg. I spent 2 years in Giessen from 1980 to 82. Such a beautiful country. Wish I could return some day. Great job my friend!
@user-rq Congratulations to your M4! If you have build experience with cars the M4 build will be easy for you!! And you are absolutely right, the way to lear to fly better and better is the goal, the journej is beautiful! And Yes, I was growing up and living for a long time in Bad Hoburg and riding very often with by triathlon bike direction Wetterau and Giessen! Now I am living in Poland. I wish you a great build and then lots of fun! If you love the M2 EVO you will go crazy for the M4!! Have fun and best Greetings!
Thanks a lot for yuur nice words! Yes, I am proud everytime I see this beautiful machine in the air (and even on the grounds). But regarding smartfones, computers and all IT related stuff i am at least an ignorant! As much as I love mechanics and technology fascinates me, the IT topic never was interesting for me... Thats a mistake, I know. Best greetings!
Great job, thank you. I started flying fixed wings back in the late 70's. Well about 10 years ago I thought I would try Heli's. I spent all winter on the sims and one nice late spring day I said its time. Lol My flight lasted 7 seconds and I broke $150 dollars in parts. Lol
Oh, I am sorry to hear that! My first heli flight did not last very long sa well: I was starting in May 2021 with a Blade 230 S V2 and my first flights were in so called "Safe Mode" or stability mode. That was my big mistake, because in a bit more wind the leanangle restrictions in these modes reduce your control very much. Set yourself very moderate goals, for instance hovering for as long a s possible tail in on one place... then step by step more, flying side to side and so on. Best in 3 D mode. better moderate and small steps but controlles by yourself. Good luck!!
@blooskyy7 You are so right that while building my very first helicopter kit I was learning soo much. I am a late starter ( I started with 60 years) and never ever had ANY RC experience. No cars, planes, boats. )So starting with collective pitch helis was quite overwhealming. Building my second set, the M4 Max was already easier. But TX setup (Radiomaster and Edge TX is still some kind of an unnknown field for me! I hope I will understand more and more an more! Best Greetings!
Hi Javier! Thank you for the nice and motivationg words! I am amazed by myself and very happy that people like my videos with a lot of talking! I love this hobby, most of all I love flying my helis and do it almost every single day - even in hotel rooms with my little M1 when I have to travel for my work as an actor. I love to make these videos and I will share my experiences for sure!! At the moment I am setting up my M4 with the help of my good friend. Very challenging for a newbe like me!! Much more than the flying itself!! :D
Building a RC heli is a really rewarding experience. You are going about it the right way, dont rush, take your time and double check everything. This goes for setting up the Flybarless controller too, double and triple check that the control responses and gyro correction operate in the correct direction. Getting gyro response reversed is a sure fire way to spoil your day when it comes to the maiden flight.
Yes, it's a very rewarding experience. The build went so fine and smooth because I did it in my very own speed, with breaks when the concentration went down. But now the programming the Bain 2 flybarless, to add the FRSky receiver (R-XSR), binding and setting it up with my Radiomaster RX12 MkII seems to be a horror for me. I dont understand the instruction manual, because I lack RC Hobby experience. I have to do it in small steps and find out how to start!!
Thank you! Today a very good friend will help me setting the TX, the RX and the Flybarless up and I hope we will manage this. For me all this is black magig because its my first kit helicopter. So far I was flying machines M2's and M1's where I just had to open the foambox and bind the heli pressing just one button! :D A new world!!
@alvintarrer6914 Thank you Alvin and I wish you lots of fun with the build! It's really very good described and very logical. Even the electronical setup and radio programming was much easier when I bulit my second kit, the M4 Max!
@@alvintarrer6914 You are very welcome! I was beinning with 60 years with an OMP M2.... It crashes very well and repairs are cheap. I used this "opportunity" to learn cheap quite often... but I was completely new to ANY RC. If you fly drones I really believe you will do better than me! Just take your time and train hovering and slow side to side flyinmg as long as it is your second nature. I learned right away without selflevel. For me this was the best way. But everyone is different! Good luck and if you need any help, pease always ask!!
Thanks! A few last settings have to be done on the flybarless and the Radiomaster TX 12 and then I hope to get this beauty finally in the air!! It was standing already much to long. But my friend who is helping me so much and I did not want to hurry and make mistakes! It's easy to make something wrong...
Hello, I read your comment and I see that you have a lot of experience with Omp helicopters. the zorro radiomaster included in the OMP M2 EVO is compatible with the OMP M4? helicopter. thank you so much ..
Hi Richard! You are right that I have a some experience with the OMP helicopters. But unfortunately I am a beginner with the Radiomaster Transmitters. But I can say for sure that the Radiomaster Zorro is for sure compatible as well with the M4 if you have a multiprotocol (MPM) or a CC2500 version. I have the Radiomaster TX 12 Mk II and this radio is very similar to the Zorro, both just have a different shape and battery capacities. But both work with Edge TX (still a black hole for me). You can use different protocols like Futaba SFHSS or like me the FrSky with the M4. Hope this helps a bit!

You have every right to be proud of yourself! Beautiful result. You are seemingly not an idiot.

Amazing. I find the build and TX setup extremely fun, and you learn so much in the process.
