It's great that you even show the small details and realistic costs, rather than just gloss over them. It demonstrates that, even with a reasonable income or pension, if you put in the effort, you can live a fulfilling and comfortable Russian life.
Yes I’ll continue to show the prices as I continue to make that apartment more home
I been with the channel since it's infancy and glad to see it creeping up to 100k. You guys deserve it
Wow! My friend thanks for standing with us! And if we make it to 100k what a nice milestone it’s not easy having a channel based out of Russia
love the straight up information....keep it up brother
Thanks, man I’m trying to make it as honest as possible as always
I wish you two a happy stay in this apartment till you get your own house done! Truth is, if I were in your shoes (I've experienced a somewhat similar situation), I wouldn't have moved out of my parents in law's house because I'd want to save as much money as possible for the construction of my own house. But when you mentioned your own house might be ready in 2026, I totally got why you decided to move out!
Thank you!
Wishing you and ksenia health and happiness in your new apartment Dan. Thankyou for sharing your journey with us❤️
Thank you!
Congrats on the new apartment man! Cool stuff and very informative as always!
I watch your videos with great interest, thank you for all this information you share about life in Russia. I wish you happiness in your new apartment.
Thanks for watching and supporting it doesn’t go unnoticed 🙏🏻
Hi! I hope the new apartment will become a dear home for you two while you finish your house! It is so nice to see you advance in your life! All the best from a Patagonian Family here!
Thanks my friend you’re so kind!
This apartment gives me some grandma vibes. Floral wallpapers, floral couch, floral window curtains. But it’s a good apartment! Looks sturdy, in good condition, clean, nothing is falling apart.
It's got potential and Ksenia is very creative. I'm sure she can do wonderful things with it.
This is Soviet style
Dan, you might substitute the longest cord of 3 bulbs in the kichen to make it reach well over to the center of the ceiling & fix it hanging down from that position using small screwable hook. Cheap as dirt but effective solution. 💡 🤗 Happy settling in!🎉
Yes it’s what I’ll do 🙏🏻 next video small improvements will be made tune in tomorrow to see it done
Nice, glad you are fixing it up.
You are doing soo good, good luck my man!
Thank you!
You 2 are doing fabulous!! Ikea type furniture is your friend; inexpensive, easily put together, and light to move. Have fun!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this video.
Whenever a video talks about cost of living I am all ears.
Especially now that I have decided that I come to Russia this year for three months, it is good to know something about costs.
It will be my first time in Russia but probably not my last.
Well a lot more coming now that we’re off our vacation! 🙏🏻 thanks for supporting
OMG Dan and Ksenia , in France for almost the same apartment it's more than 700 dollars per month in my small town and 105 dollars per month for electricity . And i don't speak on water and taxes ...
Europe is the Titanic ...
Best regards .
Wow! I love when you guys report in from your own countries thanks for sharing that with us!
Absolutely. We live in Belgium, but will probably relocate to Armenia.
Always nice watching you and Ksenia Dan. You explain things in normal English so that everyone can understand.
I try my best to be as normal as possible 👍🏻
Stay blessed brother
Молодцы! Искренне рад за Вас. Look forward to seeing more of your happiness!
Thanks a lot my friend!
Yeah, our king size actually came vacuum packed, and in the trucking industry otr drivers when they need a new mattress, the mattress are vacuum packed, the larger the mattress the more time allowed for decompression...
Yes they turn out very comfortable it’s nice
Happy blessed moving into new apartment. It is quite spacious and comfortable for a couple. The owner is friendly. The things that you buy yourself will be reduced from the rent. God bless you both.❤🙏💕🌷❤️🌷
Yes I liked it for the space!
I would love that apartment. Yurkutz Siberia the coldest place on the inhabited planet. I would be concerned about heating.
Здесь скорее всего центральное отопление от котельной или ТЭЦ, так что не надо беспокоится об отоплении в квартире. Я живу примерно в такой плачу за отопление 20 долларов в месяц примерно. @@TrickyVickey
Great work Daniel and Ksenia. Love your new apartment ❤
Thank you!
Enjoy your new appointment. Greetings from Flagstaff.
Thank you my friend!
Looks like a typical Soviet-era apartment and should serve you well until you build your new house! Congratulations, Daniel!
Thank you 🙏🏻 and yes it’s Soviet
Congrats! Well done!
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks for all the information! It is really handy. I'm trying to put together a spreadsheet to work out monthly costs, so when (if) we move to Russia, we know what our finances are and what we have to work with. I know the different areas will have different prices for rent, water and electricity, etc. but we just need something on average to work with.
Hello my friend yes I’ll continue to report prides now that we have our own place 🙏🏻 join our forums linked in the description keep in touch
🇫🇮♥🇷🇺 & God bless you both, your families and friends & mother Russia for all eternity.
🙏🏻
Use vinegar and baking soda to clean. Very inexpensive
Thanks for the advice !
Great!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏻
I love it! Looks like ground floor when I saw out your windows. Do you have good neighbours? Did you make a long term lease?😊
We are working on yearly lease!
Wow. That’s awesome,only $160. Incredible…
ты так же удивишься когда узнаешь какая в среднем заработная плата в Слюдянке 😀
You have to adjust yourselves, until your new house finished, good luck in your temporary house. Nice video. Congratulations. Things are very cheap in Russia.
Thank you my friend
The lightbulbs and cleaning supplies cost more than I expected. I would say similar to U.S. The apartment is very inexpensive along with electricity.
Interesting ! I don’t remember how much it cost in America but I bought 11 light bulbs I can’t imagine it costing less 17 usd
I live in NYC and my rent is 1700$ for a smaller apartment. Recently got a set of 4 standard energy saving lightbulbs for about 15$ and a single industrial style Edison lightbulb for 12$ in Home Depot on 23rd Street. There is no way to get 11 lightbulbs for 17$!
I didn’t catch what detergents you got, but if you could name them I would give you local prices.
All the best to you and Xenia!
Yes…it probably depends on what style and kind of light bulbs. I got some great bulbs at Costco right before the holidays. They are actually adjustable as to type of light you want. We love them. I can’t remember what we paid for those.
Hi Dan, Ksenia, I guessed Rub10K; LED bulbs are the way to go. Is the apartment a multi unit building, a house etc? I've lived in both. Great plan and prep for the house build. Cheers.
It’s a typical Soviet apartment 👍🏻
Очень хорошо, брат, Semper Fi. Мы рады за тебя. Looking forward to your getting settled into the house and making a home.
Semper Fi! Yes I hope to do the foundation this year and let it sit. Also I’d like to get water on the plot this year and dig out our sceptic
Nice video, thanks!
For me it seems like microwave set up to high and inconvenient. Maybe on top of refrigerator it will be better place for it? But pay attention, they better should plug I to the different outlets. Otherwise microwave can brake down the fridge compressor‘s engine.
As for the rest, everything looks enough for living. It is not fancy, but absolutely workable and handy.
Brother, some of your comments are comedic gold. Thanks!! For example: “I don’t know what it is about Russians and couches…” and “I mean, what else do you need for a shower. I’ve showered in rivers.” LOLOL, thanks for those!! I wish you two the best in the new place.
🤣🙏🏻thanks for quoting some of the things that made me laugh off camera when I recorded them.
That’s really funny now reading your comment thanks for the support
Congrats 👏
Looks amazing bro, I think with some creative packing and organizing like how we had to stuff everything in a footlocker or duffle bag, lol, you can make it spacious. Right on bro. Your humor is too funny, so if you sleep on the bad stretched out from couch to couch, bro, you 2 will be a Living Taco lol. Bro you crack me up. Love you man.
Hey brother honestly I could sleep on the floor but for my wife I want her to be comfortable 🤣🙏🏻 Semper fi
@@Wild-Siberia I know what you mean, my back is jacked too, I sleep on the couch, the bed and a gravity chair depending on how my back feels, I know brother, I know that pain
When I lived in Irkutsk, Russia my parents, grandparents and everyone I knew had only one couch/sofa (usually sofa bed in case of guests) and two armchairs in a living room and beds in bedrooms. Very similar what people have in Canada. Too many couches in apartment is not usual.
Ever since I arrived to Russia I’ve seen so many couches i thought it was normal 😅 I love Russia so much that in the end nothing really bothers me anyways
@Wild-Siberia it might be due to Slydianka is a tourist town and those apartments are rental to vacationers? More than usual number of people staying at the same time and needing places to sleep? Or many families had to live in smaller spaces than usual with larger numbers of family members 🤔. That's the only explanations I can come with.
Learning more about Russia from your videos then ever knew from being born there 😄👍
Thank you Dan and Ksenia for sharing the details. Things are relatively cheap in Russia which I hope remain that way. Looking forward to your monthly updates. Cheers and best of luck to you both.
We hope they stay like this for the years to come 🙏🏻
Looks like you won the lottery dude.
In California Mexicans work very hard just to survive from day to day.
10 in a house many times.
Beliefs me, 15 of us lived in 2 room house in La growing up. I have been working since pre teen years
@Wild-Siberia
And then you became a professional killer.
Sad
@@Wild-Siberia Oh, and you still managed the American Dream in Russia! 😂
looks like a nice apartment, and cheap aswell happy days.
Happy holidays!
Me alegro que estés bien, un abrazo.
Un abrazo!
Although it’s terribly dated, the apartment will serve you well for a year or so and it won’t take too much money away from your build. Does Ksenia have a job in your town or are you both doing social media full time?
Yes the apartment should save us quite a bit, she has income from work
Wow,what a cute, cozy little spot!!And the cost of rent, utilities,supplies...more than half the cost we pay in the west for a dump!!!However, the Orange wallpaper🧐 nah...God bless you and thank you🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺💌💌💌your wife is beautiful 😊
Thanks for watching yes the colors we can’t do much about but I’ll report on the total cost next month
I liked the orange wallpaper! :)
@learning7140 🧐🤮
Bless you brother.😊
I am a German living in Latvia. I learned that here people call a light bulb (like in your kitchen) without surrounding lamb hanging from the ceiling "Ilyich".
Lampochka Ilyicha :D It's a reference to the Lenin btw
Happy home!
I would guess less then $300USD/month? ❤ Love you sharing Russia with the world! 🍁😊
100 rubles to a dollar, 18,000 rubles = 180 USD rent per month.
Cool!!! 👍🏻 Congrats!!!
Thank you’
@@Wild-Siberia
I hope the troubles in LA have not affected your family and friends.....
Good luck to you ❤
Thank you it means a lot 🙏🏻
I liked as my Amazon mattress for 180$ here in California decompressed it’s a show. I like how it expands over time it’s kind of magic
Удачи ребят и всего хорошего)

Enjoy your new place! I'll say I couldn't have a storage space in the States for 180 USD.
Wow! Where abouts in the US are you from my friend
@Wild-Siberia NJ.
Buy a house in Caucase you can live there 20 years
Hi guys, I'm looking at you from New Moscow, this is the outskirts of the capital. Of course, there is a huge difference in the cost of rent for housing between our regions. If your two-bedroom apartment costs 180 dollars per month + energy payment, then the rental price here is on average about 400-450 dollars for such housing, and further closer to the center of Moscow the price increases, closer to 700-800 dollars per month for such housing. But the finishing of the apartment for rent is also very important here, you need to understand that with a better repair, the rent will be more, it's for a similar apartment - with old furniture and without modern repairs. In our region, apartments in new buildings with the most minimal finishes already look much better than all this old housing, which is rented without proper finishing. In addition, the houses built after 2017 have new technical qualities - this is primarily a barrier-free environment for the disabled, which means wide doors, openings, and the very organization of space. But here, of course, the average cost of a two-room apartment is also different, if in dollars it turns out from 150 to 250 thousand per square meter of 60-80 square meters with normal repairs.
actually their flat is pretty good despite that old stuff in rooms which can be easyle be changed with cheap price. the floor and walls look pretty renewed.
the main thing which wasnt show is kitchen and especially the bathroom.
this consist of real half price of any appartment
Thanks for reporting in!
Hello brother. Greetings from Serbia
Все таки, когда в семье два мужчины, намного легче вести хозяйство..
Semper Fi my friend and Gods blessings. American Marine with Armenian wife.
Rent 18 thousand rubles a month is incredibly cheap! In Moscow and the region, renting a similar apartment will cost you at least 3 times as much.
A bed on Wildberries! Wow 😮
Yes very handy site
Buy yourself toaster oven too instead of using dangerous microwave ovens. I let ours leave the house 7 years ago. Love your videos guys! Real Russia! Congratulations on snowboarding too!! ❤ ❄️
Thank you! Eventually if we are allowed to I’ll do it 🙏🏻
Daniel, the annual rental fee is cheap and light bulbs don't cost that much.
For a Russian worker's salary, it is a lot of money in the end when you move into an apartment. When my wife who is Russian and I from Europe moved into our apartment with 4 rooms and a kitchen in Kaliningrad, the cost became high. We had saved money before we moved in so it was easier to buy what we needed. We now have an expense for the electric, water and for the municipality together it will be about 9,000 Rubles. Whether it's normal or not, I don't know.
For a Russian salary here it’s not a lot sorry I’m not sure if you’re Russian but this is not a lot. Everyone else pays much more than me. I hope you understand that Russian house holds aren’t actually living at 400 usd a month
My wife's Son has $625 a month for his new work, he wants to quit and look for a job that makes around $900 and more a month. I myself am Swedish and live on a pension from Sweden of $910, which is not much in Sweden, but enough to live on in Russia.
Great landlord 👍. You guys look content 🥰
Wow, what a nice place. It looks really cozy. What about heating? Is there furnace, central heating or do you have an AC system?
Please do something about the ugly walls🙏 Great apartment GREAT PRICE!
We can’t 😅
Russians do this sort of stuff 🤣
16000 rubles is a great price! Even the later rent at 18000 seems great to me.
My Guess is $Can 600 a Month ? In Canada you would pay $Can 1400 in the Central Ontario area for an Apartment like this.
Oh for 600$ a month I can live in a very big house here
What is the intention? Are you going to rent while you are building your house or you will keep both, apartment and the house?
Rent while building house and later buy an apartment as well
@@Wild-Siberia If you have a house, why buy an apartment too?
@@learning7140 Why not? Many Russians have an apartment in the city and a house in the countryside.
@ True, but the Russians' countryside house is for vacationing, not living all year round.
@@learning7140when were older I won’t be able to maintain an entire house.
When we’re much older it’s not easy to have a house in winter. So I will be ready early.
In Russia especially Siberia an apartment is where people retire 👍🏻
Rent is about 15 times cheaper than in the outskirts of Vancouver Canada and 20 times less than in downtown.
🤯
Well, that's because it's a suburb of Irkutsk and because the apartment doesn't have modern design and furniture. In Moscow, renting a similar apartment, but with modern renovation and design, will cost 9-10 times as much
Guys, don't kill me. I like the wall paper.
🤣🤣🤣
Is that black mold behind the washing machine. Looks like the landlady is should have cleaned it first. Would not be happy with that.
I’m cleaning all of that the apartment was flooded in the past
Класс) у нас рядом с Москвой такая квартира 25 - 30 000 в месяц стоит) 300 долларов
16:00 для такой маленькой комнаты тебе и 1- 2 лампочек хватило бы) у меня такая лампа весь двор освещает в деревне)
Are you guys allowed to remove wallpaper & paint? Or only if you own the apartment? If you own the place, can remolding happen with moving walls & doors?
That’s a steal for $160 a month! Nice place man
Yes it’s a great deal 🙏🏻
It's time for you two to stop playing and have a baby! Spanish and Russian-wow, that's going to be a combination! 😃
I’m working on it! And Mexican and Russian 🤣🙏🏻🇲🇽❤️🇷🇺
So why did you unpack the mattress? You should have installed the bed frame first. The mattress is big, heavy, takes up a lot of space
Because we didn’t have time to put the frame we were busy all day. And the mattress needs days to settle so opened it.
Furthermore the owner hasn’t let me move the couches so …
Could u explain the heating and how much u pay for it. Thanks
Yes once we finish I can’t wait to move to my own house
160 a month? Damn marine. Hook a sailor up.... one team one foght right? Lol
Come any time my friend! Already a subscriber is buying an apartment in town 🤣🙏🏻
Where is the mattress made?
No clue brother ksenia buys these things

Congratulations 🥂 you rented a nice apartment! ❤
Hopefully you would not be staying there for long.😉
I hope so too! But I project 2026! Thanks for watching

@Wild-Siberia ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Why is there no dryer to go with the washing machine? You can't dry clothes on a clothesline if it is freezing outside?
в России мало кто пользуется сушилками, белье летом вешают на улице, а зимой дома. зимой температура в домах и квартирах около 22-25 градусов цельсия. там в комнате видно "сушилку"в левом углу в сложенном состоянии
In Russia we have dry racks … things dry fast over night or a few hours. We have dryers but don’t need them 🤣

Previous apartment was not for us to rent so never a possibility 😅
love the kitchen, but i dont like used furniture.

Hi Daniel, thank you for another interesting video. I will guess that your rent is 300 per month. I'm 8 hours late to your video and haven't read the other comments yet. Could you tell me what is included in your rent? And how much stuff costs, like internet, electric, etc. Thank you, again, and I wish you and Scenia ( sorry if I spelled it wrong ) the best from Burlington, West Virginia, Usa
Rent $150 per month
wild what happened?? i thought you bought house?? your in a apt now? is all ok?
We are building a hosue
I’m guessing $300 a month,in the USA in my area the same apartment would cost $1,000 a month plus utilities.in a town with a population a little over five thousand people
I was wrong wow that’s cheap, congratulations on the apartment
Wow not bad guess but half that
How’s the hunting around where you live?
Good many people here hunt, but a lot of wolves out in our wilderness
Just compare this Russian apartment kitchen with an American kitchen where you can park a full size truck with trailer 🙂

Yes our region in general is very expensive
@@Wild-Siberia I wonder why? Usually flats in small towns far away from big cities and cultural centers are very cheap.
