I have that exact blue willow child’s tea set.. It was one of my most played with toys as a child. I’m 70 so you know it’s definitely vintage. It’s in my attic and in very good condition, along with my Tiny Tears doll and my Shirley Temple doll that I waited 2 years for as a Christmas present.
Can't wait to see more of the clean out it looks like a nice home to me hope you find lots of treasure good luck I will watch for the next video take care God bless 🙏🙏
This looks like it is going to be a fun clean-out, especially since it appears that the house and contents are clean and you don't have to deal with smells and filth. Are you at liberty to tell us how much your friend paid for the house contents? It will give us some perspective on the house clean-out business. I have been waiting for the day that you team up with Taco Stacks for your own house clean-out business. You are both hard workers and have knowledge of the values of things and he has space in his warehouse to store and sort things for future sales either on ebay or the flea market. I can't wait to see more episodes of this adventure!
It is tough to consider BUT I have experience in this, check all pockets (daunting, I know) and quickly flip open the books. My mom had all kinds of items of value tucked into jackets pockets, shoes, you name it.
I been looking for one of those domed glass case so I can display my great grandfathers picture and his pocket watch. Too bad I am down south and could not snag it at the flea market. I have not seen any around here in NC. I really liked the lantern. The smoke detector chirp would drive me crazy. I would have to took that battery out.
Please, please share as much as you can, Renee! I love these clean outs and learn so much from your teaching/sharing with us. And, as another person commented, do you get first choice or how does the whole thing work?? Certainly appreciate anything you feel you can share- you’re a great educator!! Many thanks girl💕
I was wondering when you would find the tripod. 😂 I saw it when you were looking at the tea sets. I loved the blue and white set. 💙 The lantern was really cool. I immediately thought of the Tin Man when you held up the oil can. Great minds think alike!😊
This is a nice clean out/buy out Rene.. There's lots of vintage goodness in this home.. Love the antique Dietz lantern it's in really good shape for it's age.. The glass tea set is really nice too.. Looking forward to the next video.. Stay safe all..👍💕🔥⚾😷
I become sad when you go through someone’s home and and treasures. My husband and I are looking to downsize in the next few years, to have a stranger go through our things and not know the story behind the treasures is sad. I understand this is necessary but it still is sad. You are very thoughtful when you see personal items and that helps a bit. You do a great job on the channel.
Hi, I find it disheartening at times to see this happening when their end goal is just to make money. These were a person's items who loved and cared for them over the years. To hear a back story of the person's life would be nice. If I had to tell you one thing it would be make sure because you can't take it with you when you pass on. To give your stuff to people who you know will cherish it. I' am also downsizing! Such a shame!
I just retired & am moving downsizing next spring. I started selling regular items around the house I didn't want anymore on Facebook marketplace its been going pretty well. Or you can pack up stuff for an auction house that you think is too good to donate. Some shops might take items on consignment. There is something fun you will want to do with the extra money. It is sad & not easy but I actually feel lighter every time something leaves the house that I don't want anymore. My daughter considers it all junk she is so modern lol I'm Excited to buy some new items for the next house have less things to worry about & travel. Best of luck to you.
We get too attached to stuff.... it us just stuff and when you die you will not know about it. Enjoy it when you live and do not get upset when you know that ‘strangers’ will go tru your ‘treasures’. 😉
Hi Renee. WOW! The family came in and took what they wanted, now it is hard to find what can be used for sale at the Flea Market. Love to find out what the family left in the basement. God Bless you Renee. See you later. Stay safe. Maria. ✌️✌️✌️👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹
Beautiful, quality pieces in that home. You can finish out the week & into next on this cleanout! That dining furniture with the Windsor chairs is very nice...depending on maker, should bring nice $$$.
Looks like a fun project!! I hope you can find a local scrapper that can help you clean out any metal and wires so they stay out of the landfill and help you with dumpster space and dump fees!
A whole house to mess with. Hog heaven! 08:18 Oil can for railroad engines or other really large machinery. That Dietz lantern wans to be railroad too. Too bad I wasn't handy to do the jewelry, ot at least haul off all the bitty empty boxes.
I have too much of a squirrel brain to do this kind of work. So many decisions! But it sure is fun watching you do it. BTW, I thought you looked good in the sunglasses! :)
I like the cloche display piece (it was in the attic) ! They can be used for to display so many items. Good for you getting to buy out this house, I hope you do exceptionally well selling your finds. Looks like you’re going to be kept busy for quite awhile! That lantern is a great piece, I don’t pretend to know it’s value, but, I do hope you don’t sell it too cheaply at the flea market. Please, let us go on this journey with you, and film your adventure. 🤞🏼Good luck with it all! ✌🏼❤️
@@PaperandMoose I noticed Renee that you were able to put to use that COB LED I sent you. They are really handy and useful.. AND very bright. BTW- I'm taking the next 2 weeks off from work so there should be plenty of time to get some packages sent your way. Still havn't got an email reply back though as to your current email. Is it getting caught as SPAM like before maybe. Will put my 2 email addy's in the first small package. Don't wait and hold on to it because it will be Halloween items
The Canon AE-1 camera is a treasure, one of the best SLRs to find; with all the bits and pieces in the bag you could make a fair bit on Ebay. Some people part it out.
The Dietz lantern seems to be repainted, the long tipped oil can is most likely Railroad, there was a name on its side I think. Both should be good sellers. I'm sure there will be lots of great items in this house! Good Luck!!
Nice home. I love to go through boxes & drawers. I would be in heaven to be in that home. Probably wouldn't be done with it all in 2 years. Trying to wait patiently on the basement
Love these cleanouts! I went to two of these this week, picked what I love and a lot of various vintage decor and nicnacs (everything for free). Hope I will do well at the flea market tomorrow.
Today I spent five hours with Amy of Yosoboho and we hit five thrift shops and we had a great time and some wonderful purchases. Yesterday we met in person after a few months of communication…camping in a state park around Monroe, Michigan. Had a great time and I bought and learned a lot. So Renee, I love your videos and if I am ever in your area, do you mind having a vintage lady who should be getting rid of things but is not , shop with you?
Heard the smoke detector going off, had to listen close as thought was mine beeping 😁. I'd imagine if the previous owners were there, whatever you pick up for trash, they'd have a story why it isn't. Looks like like lots of work. Have fun! 👍👍
I watch another channel where they buy storage units, and if they are big clean outs they video every time they go back. They are a young couple. The husband opens each box or container and gives you a quick look. On their other channel the wife shows you everything in each box, that may take a few videos also. They have live auctions for certain items and then the other stuff they have a everything is a $1 yard sale. So it definitely would be awesome if you could do that 😊😊
I'm not a fan of the RUclips auctions... the legality behind being able to auction without holding an auctioneer license, collecting appropriate tax, etc., I'd rather just take to the flea market.
People who are saying she needs to organize stuff or telling her how to do the clean out, remember she's just showing us the highlights of what she's finding. Do you really want to watch her sweeping floors and wiping off table tops? 😉
Exactly! I show a video less than 30 minutes long when I’m at the home for 6-8 hours. If I were to show throwing stuff in garbage bags, taking things out to a van, I’d be yelled at for that. I repeatedly said that this was a sweep to just find some good flea market items to bring immediately to the flea market the next day. This day wasn’t about hauling away bags of trash or cleaning the bathroom.
When I read the title of this episode I figured you would hold up a dolls house and content haha I thought " click bait" BUT I do love. Ahouse clearance. Part of me though gets very upset to think a person's life is reduced to being picked over once the pass or whatever the reason. Torn between that and loving those glass cloches 😊🥺
When I used to clear estates I loved houses like this because I could make a lot of extra money from all the cheap flea market items. I used to separate it out, write some signs and make everything one low price. Sometimes there's more profit doing it that way than can be made on 'better' items.
Exactly Diane! You hit the nail on the head about the cheap flea market items. Even items like typical household cleaners, packages of toilet paper, shampoo, etc. all sells at the flea market. People can do a one-stop shop!
@@PaperandMoose I'm in my late seventies now, so prices have risen, but back in the day if I had a clearance like that, I would sell everything at uk £1 per item, which was around $1.50 US. I should think, looking at the rooms as you went through them, that you will make a lot of money.
What a beautiful home! I’d live in just that one room with the fireplace and the built-in bookcases! You acquired a fabulous household’s contents - nice job! P.S. the little electric guy’s name is Reddy Kilowatt. .The attic’s oil can and lantern were so rustic, I like them a lot. You did so well with this house!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍

Often, you only show us stuff when you find stuff. I think it’s just as important to show when you don’t - maybe just abbreviated so some of us don’t get bored. Also, can you explain your relationship with your friend - don’t of course if he objects, or it’s just flat none of our business.
