    You talked about so much glassware, bakeware & furniture going to dumpster, why not call Goodwill, Salvation Army etc to save it? Will Taco Stacks get a call to recycle some of the scrap? Really hate to see usable stuff in landfill. So glad you're there to save some treasurers. Love your videos!

    So sorry you couldn't have the heat on ... And you might need that snow shovel this weekend!!! Love the Pyrex bowls but OH My Goodness! That heavy aluminium roaster!!! I was shouting at you to grab it!!! I am afraid I wouldn't be able to just toss a bunch of that...although the shelf liners all can go. That antique kitchen table next to that cool stove in the basement.. That's another keeper.

    It's funny how different items sell in different parts of the country. Around here those filing cabinets would sell for $50. It seems like everyone here is working from home so the desk would definitely sell. The galvanized tubs are used alot to put ice and drinks in for outdoor events. Like I said different parts of the country.

    Hey Renee - I definitely enjoyed this video and look forward to the next one in the basement. My question is: How do you determine which items you get to keep and resell and which items belong to the guy you are working with/for? If you found tons of neat things in the kitchen and he found nothing in the living room - would you have to split with him? Not that I'm ever going to do a house clean out, but it would be interesting to know. Thanks!

    Renee, you are so fortunate to have all these interesting thrifting adventures! Things are starting to retract here...the estate scene is still dead...what remains of the thrift stores are open, however the shelves are stocked with a preponderance of new items...feels like an Ikea store! Yet another small independent antique shop called it quits in 2022! Clean outs, those were what my friend Victor and I did in the early 1990's. Those were the gold mine days of basements full of forgotten vintage goodies. Found two Victor Victrolas back then [which I still have] as well as many old radios, ephemera, art pottery...the list goes on! Like that bathroom, blue is my color, the wall paper nice as well. I have a couple of the large Pyrex bowls...one in a pinkish rose and the other a blue gray, in mint shape, as well as the clear pieces with lids. That inside view of the dumpster looks like a miniature dry dock. That "railroad spike" looks like a log splitting wedge. My dad had a couple of those old blow torches...sold them to a vintage tool collector buddy of mine some years back. They really spewed flames! Those drawers in the buffet would drive me nuts!! I hope they don't junk that neat vintage electric range I see in your closing segment.

    • @PaperandMoose
      @PaperandMoose  2 года назад

      I realized after that what I thought was a railroad spike was just a bit too big to be a railroad spike haha. Oops! Not sure what will happen with the stove. Clean as a whistle inside! I think they are going to list it on Facebook Marketplace. Would be a great addition to a little vintage store to display items on!

    • @larryboysen5911
      @larryboysen5911 2 года назад

      @@PaperandMoose One of my uncles had a GE electric range very similar to that one, from1951...they used it up to the 1990's, when they sold their home to downsize. When I look around my abode...I'm starting in a small, timid way to do the same, but not selling the house. Incidentally, your parcel is on its way to you.

      @@PaperandMoose when I was a seller on eBay, flatware was my bread and butter. For certain patterns, it was not uncommon to receive $10 to $20 for a single Oneida dinner fork. I adored selling stainless steel flatware because it is small, light weight, and not fragile.

      May I ask why the glassware and furniture pieces don’t go to a thrift store? Sorry if you’ve already explained.

      Furniture would have been turned away due to condition (many have rules about broken pieces/wear). Some glassware was taken to the flea market to be sold. Those with damage couldn’t be donated.

    What fun "work"! I know there's plenty of crap work involved but wow . . .

    I had that Pyrex bowl set when I got married in 1975.

    Lots of Pyrex, for sure. I look forward to seeing what other great items are there. I was eyeing an oval framed picture through the kitchen door, into the LR or DR that looked really interesting. Looking forward to the next video.
