From Season 4 Episode 14 ''The Greater Good'': House is convinced one of the actors on his favorite soap opera (Jason Lewis) has a serious medical condition, after observing his symptoms on television. He decides to intervene and take matters into his own hands, but both the actor and House's team dismiss his assessment and do not believe there is anything wrong. Meanwhile, Wilson and Amber have their first argument and Cuddy tries to keep up appearances when an inspector makes an unexpected visit to Princeton-Plainsboro.

if you're curious about the ending, house was right about the allergy, but not the allergen. the patient wasn't allergic to chrysanthemums, he was allergic to quinine. his character in the soap opera drank a lot of G&Ts, but obviously the actor couldn't be drinking real alcohol during filming. he couldn't have gin on set, but he COULD drink tonic water. quinine is an anti-parasite drug used as malaria treatment on its own, but it's also added to tonic water to give it that bitter flavor. quinine allergies aren't super uncommon, but every once in a while the allergic reaction can lead to multi-organ failure
We need you on every one of these videos. Bless
Are you just smart or do you have a med degree and don't want people asking questions constantly if they see a D and R in front of your name? If you answer yes, I'll delete my comment after you answer if you want so you can stay anon. You can do the same after I like it.
@@anthonywilliams7052 I am not a medical doctor but I am disabled and dealing with several very rare diagnoses, which has basically put me through bootleg med school 😂 you're totally allowed to ask questions, if I don't have an answer I can at least help you find information or tell you who to see for help
@@londonm3161 Hmmm, looks like we have a little in common, I'm disabled too but for my back, L5-s1 herniated and compression of the nerve, spinal arthritis.... not fun, a lot of back pain. I've recently seen some things that might help both of us, healing and immunity in general. PEMF (pulsed magnetic field) helps some things and increases circulation and healing. I've seen various papers on it and it seems promising but I'm sure you know how the doctors trained by the drug companies look at that. It is approved and studied by the Mayo Clinic for now for helping healing and pain. The other thing is from a DR Jack Kruise talking about using cold that somehow really boosts the immune system. He even injected himself with a staff to test in and didn't get an infection somehow. I originally thought this sounded like BS but the more I learn about it and how it's been used in the past it seems there might be something to it. Not sure I'd want to be in cold water but if you work up to it then it might be worth it. I have an electronics engineering background and the more I see new papers and ideas talking about recharging the cellular system and how it affects healing, the more I'm fascinated about it. There's a video called "Dr. Jerry Tennant: Healing is Voltage" which I initially doubted but I've seen similar information many places since then all saying the same things. Dr Tennant has some kind of device that helps too but I've seen in other places Vitamin C also adds electrons to the cells, another way of recharging the cellar system. I'm still learning about this but it sounds like you'd also be interested even if just out of curiosity. Maybe it can help you too.
They want to give me these very painful medial nerve blocks for a second time and completely take med too, I finally just said take me off, and it's not fun so far. I'm looking to try the cold water and PEMF if I can just find a place that does it. I'm in the Dayton Oh area and can't find it anywhere or a doctor that even knows what it is. I'm working on building my own version and hoping that would help but wish I had a professional version so if it's not working I know it wasn't just not being strong enough pulses. Apparently, the cold has been used for thousands of years by monks to boost immunity. I don't know if you heard about these things but I'd like to know your opinion on them.
You’re a Saint
"Perfect. My patient's in a '69 Ford Coma." always murdered me. 2023 and House's snark is still unrivaled.
Writing from the grave then?
"It is stupid...live the dream, Wilson!"

@saturn722 I have a good theology question for you. If someone believes in God, do they go to Heaven? Or do they have to believe that Jesus is the son of God?
Every single episode of house:

Cuddi: no you can’t
House: *does anyway*

Thanks for being the hero we all needed by posting these even if they are only parts of an episode. Your channel got me into this show. I want to buy some of the seasons but not for the price they are asking for.
Sail the high seas matey!
They used to be on peacock for free but they are now charging for premium to get them. I deleted peacock, house was the only reason I was there lol
that's pathetic@@realitycheck8321
"No mocking, no Freudian analysis of how the water bed is a great big vagina i want to crawl into"
😂😂😂. This is why i love House's and Wilson's interactions so much.
This clip is from "Living The Dream", which is Episode 14 of Season 4. "The Greater Good" is from Season 5, but it's still Episode 14.
I love Foreman's "My god, why didn't you say he'd been exposed to plant life?" 😂
House and Wilson ratchet shopping should have been an episode in season 6 considering that they lived together
*mattress LOL
House: Could be rat bite fever... He needs more rat bites!
I understood this reference xD

Dr. Trial and Error TO THE RESCUE!
I liked the moment in this episode when House was in the patient's dressing room and showed off there with awards.
The standard dosage is 125mg, 100m is hardly an overdose
I HATE the way they just cut off the end without showing usthe conclusion! You might as well not even show us the clip in the first place!
Error in the description this is not the greater good it’s living the dream
Cuddy got House’d in the end
Ooh the House M.D. channel, time to go hunting for the scene where Chase tells Foreman off, because their only real difference is Foreman’s superior attitude.
Did you ever find it?
What if you had a watter bed that had a pump that chilled the watter. That would be the greatest thing in the summer. Hell it could heat the watter for the winter too.
Don’t get to the end of your life, regretting living your life the way you want to
It's like the number one thing people say they regret on their deathbed, heh.
Can one imagine.... The brain that could have absorbed the vast knowledge of the medical field.... to bring about a solution!
There are SO many esoteric answers, to bring a patient back to health!
Those that can resolve such a dilemma, are to be placed on high.....
The medical Sherlock Holmes.
If Sherlock Holmes were in an untouched jungle…. House is an amazing show. But medically- it is very ridiculous.
@@alyssatheexcellent I'm talking about House himself.
@@drakecarter1780 And Dr. Watson.
Actually the show creator even said that was kind of the idea in the beginning. Who's House's best friend? It all but slaps you if you know and stop to think about it.😂😂 House and Wilson! Gotta nice ring to it!
....it can still be autoimmune
"Autoimmune diseases as noninfectious causes of fever."
“A ‘69 for coma” got me 😂

Love this
Well 🤷♂️ If we go to bed 🛌 early & stay out of trouble
We could push it to at least 💯
Half the guys I save don't deserve a second chance. I wonder, what share of all the patients in the show that he manages to save are actually "good" people.
Good thing it isn’t your job to decide who deserves a second chance.
I'm on a plane, I can't complain
“I’m ignoring you, because you make me sad” is probably the best insult in the entire series.
We’re just wildebeasts by the river
Did you see how Cuddy bit her lip when House told her to get security to take the fall for her? She was SOAKED.
This is weird, why is house talking to a patient and not making fun of them?
I'm with Wilson, I want a waterbed. Totally not worth the hassle, but I want one.
Did Cuddy call security on House as he suggested?
‘This isn’t a Soap Opera, House’. Is that what they call ‘meta’.
"This isn't a soap Opera House." Ah, back in the days when meta-humor wasn't repulsive and everywhere.
I like dr house my show
Are you really as miserable as they say you are? 😂
Whoops...accent slip on "pyrethrins"
Was House correct??
Half-correct. He wasn't allergic to the crysanthemums, he was allergic to the chemicals they put in the fake gin & tonics he had to drink every take for the show.
@@sorin_markov Actually, the problem was that they *weren't* fake gin and tonics. He was drinking real tonic water, and he was allergic to the quinine used to flavor it.
@@oggggo Fake in the sense it wasn't gin and tonic, just tonic.
Water bed, 😂😂😂 ,
House is a genius but the pain in his leg makes him miserable because it's either he takes the pills or lose his leg.
Bro just stated the plot
@@arcthechef not really there is alot more to the show then house
Fire is hot.
they're painkillers, they dont heal his leg
Same as the Ketamine and whatever the heroin substitute was also didn't fix it
Lopping the leg off would be for his pleasure and pain free-ness. House decided he would rather be in pain than lose his leg
@@PJOZeus that's my point he either takes the pills or lose his leg what are you talking about if he does not take the pills he is always in pain even more
