I first heard this song live when I was 13 years old in Washington, DC's Constitution Hall in 1970-71. Still after all these years Focus 2 is one of the most melodic, most beautiful tunes I've ever heard. Long live Focus.
Focus remain one of the most underrated bands of the 70’s . Van Leer is class and is still today.Ackerman is a great guitarist but sadly they could not co exist . I saw both in Uk in early 2000’ s both extraordinary musicians and never ever forget Van Der linden .. awesome.
Indeed. Massive mutual respect as musicians but Akkerman could not get along with van Leer personally. His leaving caused a deep fissure in the band at the time which Philip Catherine valiantly tried to mend. Only when the new skins era has Focus really regained its prominence.
This HAMMOND L100 organ sounds superbly good, it has a magnificent saturation, I imagine that it is a LESLIE 122 or 147 tube cabin whose input is saturated, output of the organ pushed almost to the max and entry of the Leslie at 50% I don't think there was a saturation / distortion pedal especially at the time, only guitarists used effects pedals ..
