ADD some small movers, they look really nice with great dmx computer software stuff!! BTW Par 38s are fantastic! add some rosco color filters for flesh tones!
Can you make an update of this video? When tech progresses, tech gets less expensive. And more competition enters the market. Idk when Lixada entered the market. What do you think of them?
My $1000 rig consists of two wash pars, two light bars, and 4 mini moving heads, but the controller, stands, and cables equal out to like $500. So about $1500 for my simple setup.
This can be really well using soundswitch with the 40 dollar dongles, a shit ton of cheap Chinese par lights and moving heads and some class 3r lasers and a chauvet fogger
id get an edmx4 din from dmx king and make an sacn node. costs about the same as an entec box when psu, connectors, cables are accounted for, except im going to be able to get 4 universes of output and be able to use it through onyx. Way better than dmxis. Much more professional control and for the same price. all you need is some basic soldering knowledge and youre good to go
Yeah, like I've mentioned before, DMXis is much better for beginners. I love Onyx, but if you're just starting with a few lights, the complexity will just slow you down!
Have you tried QLC+? It's an open source (free) light console software. It's got a few quirks but seems like a good place to start. I am curious to know if you have tried it?
Wouldn't 2 chauvet gig bars do all this? and more actually....1400$can get 2 gig bar moves' with 4 moving pars, 4 Darby, 2 lasers, 8 strobe setup in 5mins.
You can save more money if you use Chamsys. It is for free and with an art net node with 1 DMX out (approx 90€) you have one universe and full control incl visualizer.
I'm not sure where you'd even be able to buy a old one. Any is fine, the newer ones are easier to use and look better, but they all could work for you. Did you know that you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free? www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2020/01/15/how-to-upgrade-to-windows-10-for-free-in-2020/

What stands are you using for the par 38s?

I've tried it, but it's been awhile. I'll go try it again.

It's not going to cover the space as well. But they are a pretty good deal for what they are.
is the computer thats controlling the lights accounted for in the 1000$ budget?
No, as I find most people have a computer capable of running DMXis.
@@LearnStageLighting What software and connectors do I need?
This is fantastic!
I need help with a challenge. A real challenge.
Thank you, for this great summary and recommendation!❤
Glad it was helpful!
Can you do 500 with movers like cheap ones
Yikes, I'm not sure I can go that low.
@@LearnStageLighting you can get movers for 60
Thank you for this video!!! Thanks for taking time to produce it :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can Showbuddy software run with hardware besides the dmxis box? For instance Enttec’s usb pro MKII?

But you need as well a pc
True, but DMXis is much better for beginners. I find most people have a PC or Mac they can use, so that's a non issue :)
Onyx beats chamsys any day of the week. hook it up to ma3d and u have a free 3d visualizer aswell
@@LearnStageLighting maybe a video comparing Chamsys, Enttec, Onyx and other USB/interface DMX software consoles
Hi these days i'm working with phida pd-z12 , 12chanel digital dimmer pack. It is not dimmering
I would recommend calling tech support for the brand. If it was working, and now it is not, they can lead you to a solution :)
Which Capture should I get? Nexus, Polar, Atlas or Argo? I have Windows 7, so I can't download the new one.

perfect
What would you add/do different with a $2000 budget?
Change out the back pars for some small wash movers.
What's this lighting software called?
This is ENTTEC DMXIS
@@LearnStageLighting have you done a video on Enttec DMX before?
Can you make a $15,000 USD version??
Maybe! :) Not in the plans right now, but I may do it in the future!
Can you make a $50,000 USD tutorial version??
Maybe!
You cant
