    Since Brock entered the league he's been the #1 QB in the NFL, all things considered (except SB wins, team sport) and only people's feelings say otherwise. All stats, all facts and reality is on his side and there's nothing any hater can do about it.

    100% agree, great take, great video! Even as a big Purdy fan from the start, I’ve been critiquing him, settings standards, sometimes questioning, but I’ve run out of place to push the goal posts to. His presence and movement within the pocket, elite. Scrambling ability, elite. Deep ball accuracy, or any range accuracy, elite. On schedule and off schedule ability, elite. Going thru reads, elite. Throwing receivers open; or throwing to space, elite. Using the skill around him, elite, imo best in the NFL. Stats and numbers so far, elite. Confidence, very high. Put that all together and u get, elite QB

    It's funny that processing and accuracy he has been elite at and those 2 traits alone should garner a lot of respect. Then you add how good he has been extending plays as well as leading the league in explosive plays you're easily talking about a top 5 QB potentially top 3. I remember in the 90s and early 2000s broadcasters often talked about defenses not letting a QB play in rhythm then the era of the statue QB came along and that all stopped but the Elite QBs could play in rhythm and we're virtually unstoppable. And that is exactly what Brock is.

Bootleg left, reverses all the way to the opposite sideline, fakes out a D lineman, then throws a dot to Aiyuk in the back corner... which he dropped. 🙄 If Brandon had caught it, it would be in every YT short about great touchdowns you've ever seen!

    I think Nick Wright is just straight out Trolling with his takes now, especially the Mahomes Mountain segment, because the Brock takes are so polarising fans from nearly every franchise want to add their 2 cents worth (I'll ue the American version even though I'm English).
    I agree wholeheartedly with your assessments of Brock and I also think he will really start to take more control of the offensive play calling which if you listened to the Ravens Cowboys game, TB was saying he was impressed that Lamar is "starting to do that" He's in year 7 FFS, and Brock hasn't done it previously in my opinion, not because he can't but because he respects Kyle and mainly trusts that Kyle has a plan not just for the play called but for setting up a future play. As he now has had his first full offseason, I think he will have a much better understanding of the knock on effects of each call played and be better equipped to balance and change plays regarding the direct needs of the plays with the overall scheme. Mark my words. This will be Brocks' new Superpower.

He's benefiting just like Purdy from the weapons and coaching around him, but he does have three Super Bowls to his name and they show up at the AFC championship game every year. It's hard to put anyone ahead of him.

    I still need for someone to define what a system QB is. Every QB plays in a system. Mahomes plays in a college shotgun system, we run a pro style system. Lamar Read option system. We need to stop using it as if it defines something, it means nothing at all.

    • @k1ndr3dspirits

    • @louieo3
      @louieo3 Месяц назад +9

      The term system QB is misleading because it can be used to degrade players. The understanding needed to actually determine a QBs abilities isn't something that most people have, including players at the highest level. All QBs play in some system. All QBs fit better in certain systems. The intended meaning of a system QB is probably best displayed when a QB is in a system that either neutralizes or minimizes their weakness that would normally expose them for where they lack. This is the "short" explanation obviously. I don't think you actually wanted the explanation but I took my opportunity because I really cannot stand when people use it in relation to Brock Purdy. An easy way to eliminate that argument right out the gate, is when a QB shows the ability to play outside the "system", i.e. broken plays or extending plays.

    • @HeplMeh
      @HeplMeh Месяц назад +1

      Some QB's are perceived to be, or have already shown to have the ability to play Elite in ANY system or with any roster. Their raw talent will overcome all that.
      A "System QB," is generally a QB that people feel would NOT do very well outside of their current System or roster. Their raw talent would not overcome in a less than favorable environment.
      People can argue whatever semantics they want, at the end of the day, this is what it is at it's core.

    Not sure if anymore, but besides the few bad stats where SF is “top”, or worst, I think theyre also near the bottom in wr seperation, or, in other words, Purdy having to throw into tight windows. If u factor in all the variables, from drops, to no separation, to how defenses play him, his numbers are absolutely gaudy

    • @charlescainv5722
      @charlescainv5722 Месяц назад +2

      Truth

    • @rhmayer1
      @rhmayer1 Месяц назад +9

      You're talking about advanced metrics - weighted to take those variables into consideration, that help level the comparison to other QB's under similar challenging circumstances. And yes, Purdy does perform at or near the top of ALL of those advanced metrics, like AEPA/P (Adjusted Expected Points Added per play), ANY/A (Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt), DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average) and CPOE (Completion Percentage Over Expectation).
      In previous years the 49ers led the league in YAC, and people used that to argue that their all-star weapons explained Purdy's high passing yards. This year, after Wk4, the 49ers are at the very bottom of the league in YAC, ranked #32, and yet Purdy is #2 in passing yards. He is 52 yards behind Geno Smith, but Smith had 31 more completions and 37 more attempts. Give those extra 37 attempts to Purdy and the his #1 Avg. Yds/Att says he'd have 344(!) yards more. Purdy is #2 in throwing into tight windows this year.

    • @shect1
      @shect1 Месяц назад +1

      You forgot about YAC. They led the league in YAC until this season. Not their at the bottom of that stat. If they were still getting the same YAC, Purdy's numbers would be through the roof.

Steve Young especially, but bits of Montana, Brady, Brees, others. mark my words, in 10 years Purdy will be written down as one of the leagues all time best and in 20 if not sooner he will be in the GOAT debate as a front runner. I would bet my life on it.

    Yeah, there's some really bad takes out there, but for every Nick Wrong there's a Rich Eisen. It's the same with fans. I think jealousy plays a big part, which is why some are desperately willing him to fail. What's more informative is what current players are saying... you know they are watching tape as it's part of their job. I haven't heard one of them say he isn't anything but a baller.
    When people talk about the true greats Montana, Brady, Manning and even Mahomes, they don't talk about how big their arms are or how many rushing yards they have, they talk about accuracy and what's going on above the neck. Brock isn't in that category yet, but he has all the same hallmarks and if he continues as he has been, no one will be able to deny him his flowers.

You have Brock Purdy with 9.1 yards per completion and Patrick Mahomes with 3.9 yards per completion, I think And then not to mention people always say that yards after catch is what gives Brock Purdy so many yards on his completions well Brock Purdy has the least amount of Yards after catch in the NFL and Patrick Mahomes has the most yards after catch in the NFL not only getting more yards per completion three times almost he’s doing it with the least amount of yards that exist in the NFL. That’s pretty good to go along with the ones you pointed out.

    People don't like to admit when they were wrong, at least until it's undeniable; Brock being "Mr. Irrelevant" will remain the narrative until his abilities can no longer be denied. Him looking different from the typical franchise QB (I'm NOT talking race!) in terms of playing from the neck up instead of the shoulders down isn't as common today as it was in the past; he plays with quickness instead of speed and throws with touch and timing instead of power, which isn't considered as "sexy" QB play. One day the narrative will flip, and we 49ers fans (most of us anyway) were already on board before the bandwagon took off!!

    Here's my advice to my fellow faithful. Don't pay too much attention to what the national media says. You don't need their "approval". They have to cover the entire league. They can't watch every game. Those who do watch either put RedZone on or they use NFL Sunday Ticket to watch multiple games. Many of them just watch some highlights. It doesn't really matter what someone who never player the game like Nick Wright, who has some of the worst sports takes in history on his name, think about Purdy or the 49ers. Maybe if he wins a SB MVP they'll change their tune.
    Ignore them when they're hating, and ignore them when they're praising.
    We watch every week. We've watch the other QBs that have player here under Kyle, and before that. We know Purdy is different.

Last year it was obvious to everyone who should have won MVP. Brock threw and ran the 9ers to the SB and he held all the records. Lamar was mediocre. Instead of riding his success to improve the NFL image, the haters have CHOSEN to drag him down in order to draw attention, albeit negative attention.
