What Brock Purdy can do:
1. Throw to every part of the field.
2. Read a defense.
3. Process information fast.
4. Play well within the structure of the system.
5. Play well outside the structure of the system.
6. Escape pressure and buy time with his legs.
7. Scramble when needed.
What Brock Purdy cannot do:
1. Be 6'4".
2. Weight 230 lbs.
3. Run a 4.3 forty yard dash.
BOOM AND STRENGTH OF ARM, BUT YOUR ON POINT WITH THIS TAKE.
Brock Purdy is like that guy: cute, intelligent, well mannered, good job, etc but he is just 5’5”. So the girls are not interested.
Purdy does weight 230 now. He thick. Its them big ol quads.

@@terrythegnome2408oh he the thick tahp?!
Man, I want the 49ers to win, and then on the podium Purdy takes off his jersey and underneath he's wearing that "Mr. Irrelevant" T-shirt he earned on Draft Night.
That would be awesome
i dont because then everyone will say he's saving the universe for sure now when hes still not even close to being the best player on his team.
That would be the ultimate troll.
On the back should be “Game Manager” and “10th best player”.😂
who on the team is better then Brock at playing QB?@@DavidJohnson-lm7nn
Josh Allen and Mahomes threw more passes short than Purdy!
Lol i screamed this at the Tv watching the Afc championship.. what a “game manager” 😂🥱
Exactly.
More than 60% of Mahomes yards were from YAC this year. Purdy was at 48%
If you watched the chiefs this season, you would know that they led the league in drops and offensive line penalties. He went deep plenty, he just had no help. Different story Sunday, Chiefs win by double digits, AGAIN.
@@chrisp2813niners win 34-20. chiefs fans go cry about it. 😂
Purdy beating Brady was the moment the torch was passed. Brock is already the next big thing. Hottest topic.
Laughable!!!😂😂😂
@@pnojazz name another qb that’s accomplished that, especially as a rookie, ESPECIALLY IN HIS FIRST START
Dude, and he did EVERYTHING in that game. 2 dimes for touchdowns, ran one in himself, and had an amazing move past a defender to throw in traffic to Deebo. That game was fucking magical, and anyone who doubts Purdy clearly didn't watch it.
@@oozieneinmillimeeda its not how you start. its how you finish. Dont compare someone with 1 year under his belt to the greatest to have ever played the game just cause they won the game they faced eachother. You have barely one good year of play and the fans are going outside their minds.
He is the 15th best qb in the league. He ain’t a bum but he isn’t a franchise changer. You guys went to the sb with jimmy g.
You know Purdy is a great QB when even he's got the usually level headed Rich all twisted up in the media hoopla around the 49ers QB.
He's better than brady ever was, allready
@@JohnBarron-nname checks out
Yep.
What Rich didn't mention is that Brock did everything that he did thus far behind a line that isn't that great by any metric. He's got one elite offensive lineman, and one above average guard. The other three guys are just guys. As a unit, their pass block win rate is 20th in the league. If the 49ers can give him a better line and maintain a decent bevy of weapons, Brock has the opportunity to be good for a very long time.
😂🤣😂🤣
Lmfao at this point I just don’t think I know what Rich thinks about Purdy anymore. He’s contradicted himself a million times in the last few weeks. “Purdy’s great but he’s not great but he’s really good but he has flaws but don’t count the 49ers out but the Chiefs are absolutely going to win the game”
Yea, he's flippin and floppin.
😂😂😂
Look, as a Niners fan, I said when he came into the Dolphins game last year... wow. This guy *looks* like Montana. That doesn't mean he IS, doesn't mean he will finish his career with 4 rings or come back a thousand times. It means, he has the fire, the fearlessness, the belief, the elusiveness, the touch, and the vision. That is what Joe Montana was: indomitable.
Since then, he continues to look like Joe, to me. Bigger sample size, still a winner. So happy to have Purdy, don't really care what outside noise tries to chirp, we watched Jimmy for years, saw worse with Gabbert and Beathard and Mullens... Even Kaep, who had a sensational early career, not as good as Purdy even at his very best. We will take our guy.
I would never discount the Chiefs. But if this man slays the big bad dragon? I will feel pretty good about the start of the career of a guy who looks an awful lot like Joe.
You can tell Brockman is forced to keep his mouth shut far more than he wants to bc he wants to call Rich out, but can’t. Rich does this w/ evy story line so he can appear to be right about everything - so he regurgitates these narratives as though he’s sharing the storyline with an audience who doesn’t already know it, or he has insider information that he doesn’t ever have. It’s bizarre.- at the end of the day, Rich is never really wrong bc he’s played both sides. He does it every player, every game, every team, every season. -
As you do with your own child. What's not to get?
He's trying to cash in on both sides of the debate lol
I need more drunk Kyle Shanahan interviews!
Absolutely!!
Hahaha I noticed that too. He's totally had a few.
Must loosen up with all those cameras around you 😂
Either that or a gummy.
Whole 49ers team gonna be drunk on Saturday night and gonna be hangover for the game!!! 😅😅😅
Rich slept on what he said yesterday and now is switching back 😂
Exactly
Exactly X2. Just watch the all 22. Just like those getting on Chase. He set the edge pretty good against the Lions on the all 22.
I should've read comments b4 I posted... you hit it on the head.. he was very dismissive of Brock yesterday...but 2day? Must've slept at a holiday inn express
The more I listen to Rich the more I question how smart I used to think he is. These media types are basically glorified trolls. I wonder how much of what they say they really believe.
They make money yakking. Gotta keep on yakking.
I think I know what it is. If Purdy is what the numbers say that he is, on this team, with his contract, with this coach, and with this front office (that is able to draft 5th round players who look like future HoFs), the 49ers have assembled the last piece of the puzzle and they will dominate the NFC the same way that Mahomes and the Chiefs have dominated the AFC. Nobody wants that unless they are Niner fans.
I'm a Giants fan, so if the 9ers dominating the NFC is my best chance at not having to live through a SB with the Cowboys or Eagles in it, I can live with that 👌
Nope...we all know why the hate but are afraid of being labeled
Segements like these remind me why I prefer Rich over any other media guy. The voice and the storytelling.
His answer about how he keeps a level head is pretty much verbatim the attitude Brady brought to the field every day for 20+ years. He even reiterated that mindset the other day on the Macafee Show in an interview.
"I think Jerry Rice just scored another TD" LMMFAO!
24-y.o. Pro Bowler drafted dead last getting to the NFC Championship in his first year and Super Bowl in his second. But yeah Cam Newton, 10th-best player on the roster for sure. 🤡
What's wrong with being the 10th best player on this 9ers team? We stacked
Cam is envious because he is the more physical and ineffective Esau and Brock is the more cerebral and effective Jacob, so it's a tension as old as time.
Cam is a dumbass but that isn't that far off or a huge insult when you look at that roster, QB just has the highest impact obviously since they touch the ball the most. You can't tell me that these guys are not all at LEAST as good or better at their positions: Trent Williams, CMC, Kittle, Warner, Bosa, Hufanga. You could argue for Deebo and Aiyuk as well, that's already 8 players without including Juszczyk.
Purdy also costs .36% of his teams salary cap and it's a TEAM game. His offense has a 1st team all pro at LT, RB, TE, FB, WR1, and a 2nd team AP WR2. Kind of helps a QBs development when you have that, and a lot of young QBs who land in terrible systems with awful coaches and surrounding talent may have played well if they were dropped into that situation as well. I can see a reason with holding off calling him the 49ers best player just yet.
@@173jaSon371 All that is true, but the rest of the line is poor in pass blocking
You act like being the 10th best is a bad thing😭🤣 he's a good player no one is saying he's not but you watch the games and you can clearly see he's no even the best player on the offense let alone the whole team
The look on Brock Purdys face on the sidelines during the end of 2nd Qtr vs Lions said it all. Nothing but focus and intensity on his face.
To me, Rich Eisen is the new Bob Costas, so to speak. His sports commentary is an absolute joy to listen to. Very honest and cordial. Love Rich Eisen.
Rich how old are you man? Did you edit out the early part of Brady's career? He still got doubted after MUlTIPLE Super Bowl wins. In the first 10 years it was "is he for real", then the lull between super bowls it was "he's a game manager" or "it's because of Belichik" then after the next 3 SB wins it was "now he's old and washed." It wasn't until his SB win in Tampa Bay that he finally stomped out the last embers of doubt.
Point is, Purdy's draft status, having a great HC and looking like an unathletic dork is going to cause people to doubt him for years, just like it did Brady.
That Patriots team ran the ball and had a stout defense. Cory Dillion ran the ball.
when does purdy ever look unathletic other than when he's just standing there?
It took me until the last Patriot SB win to finally accept Brady. Though I was one of those who just hated what he kept doing up to that point. My criticisms were vitriol.
Then I saw a documentary of his college story and the poise that took.
Then that he could go to the Bucs and change their history.....
Wish I could watch all those seasons over with the eyes I have now.
I didn’t get die hard about football until around the 07 season. I’ve never heard anyone doubt Tom’s ability.
@@barbeonline351 I was the exact same way. He should never be able to pass up Montana is what I told myself. Yet the dude just kept winning and winning. It hurst me that I doubted a local Bay Area kid but I can sit here and say, yes, Brady is the GOAT!

I was trashing on him this entire season bc I’m a cowboys fan and that team has ruined the cowboys hopes and dreams the past 3 years. But I think he’s good and I want him to beat the chiefs
Funny, I was hyped about him for the very same reason! 🤗
Greetings, a Giants fan from far far away
While I read your comment, I came up with the craziest scenario:
Would be quite funny if the first time the cowboys can beat out the 49ers in playoffs is after dak's retirement when the 49ers' biggest draft bust of the millennium has taken over as the cowboys' starting QB.
Now THAT would be a story.
No qb that I can remember is given less credit for what they do good, and more criticism for mistakes that are as rare as hall of famers' mistakes
It's absolutely nuts how much they discredit this guy. It makes no damn sense
🎯
We like to look for the bad rather than whats good. Being grateful for what you have can save your life!!
Look at the good Purdy has done!!! Incredible
Nate Sudfeld was the QB2 that offseason. They paid him 2 mil guaranteed, but as soon as Jimmy came back, they knew they had to cut him in order to keep Brock. So Jimmy stepped in as the QB2 behind Lance and Brock was QB3, despite having beat out both Lance and Sudfeld in training camp. Sudfeld didn't clear waivers after being cut. The Lions swooped him the very next day and he immediately became QB2 for the Lions.
And if you're the 49ers, they treated that QB room exactly as they should've. Start the guy you keep saying just needs regular reps and see how it goes, and then when he went down, do you turn to the known commodity in Jimmy G or your rookie who was the last pick in the draft who looked great in camp but also had a crazy (in a bad way) senior season the year before? Obviously, the known commodity as far as he'll take you
Thank you Rich. Just one huge thank you for every single word. Go Brock Go! Go Niners Go!
Rich is all about a good story. He rides waves of emotions from one story to the next, living vicariously through them, feeling out the story. It’s what drives him and his commentary. People think he’s contradicting himself on Purdy, but it’s really just the next peak in an emotional roller coaster he’s addicted to. Makes for a good show but don’t get pissy that he isn’t thinking like you in the moment
well said🎯
Not to mention he was leading league in passing TDs, still put up these numbers sitting multiple 4th qtrs and week 18. Brock has a lot more time to prove himself elite but he is ballin and his story is awesome. Dont know why some people dont love this guy
WITH 150 LESS ATTEMPTS. i DID THE MATH. GIVE HIM THOSE ATTEMPTS AND ITS 45 TDS AND ABOUT 5K YARDS
What the scouts can’t measure is the processing speed and accuracy. When you buy a computer, your looking for the processor. You can add memory much easier.
It’s basic. The notoriety gained by learned prognosticators is the currency that runs both the news and sports commentary business. When the conventional wisdom puts statistical likelihood of performance based purely on physical attributes and not intellectual capacity which to be fair is less reliably measured, mistakes happen. The embarrassment of having to admit being surprised that their professional assessment hasn’t come true leads people like Nick Wright to double down on their original opinion.
That’s why I call these haters: Nick Wrong, Camel Newton, Colon Cowherd, Rhino Clark, etc.
Nailed it💯. Entire scouting departments are under fire especially when it comes to QB evaluation. Hopefully this gives hope to other college QBs who don’t pass the physical measureables. Scouts will have to actually work now…😆
@@zhaidalian5845 you're acting like all the scouts missed some glaringly obvious thing about Purdy that should've gotten him drafted higher (that I'm sure you saw). He looked mediocre against mediocre opponents in college. Tapes and stats.
Even more basic to your point, Nick Wright has truly fallen in love with himself.
@@EETDUK More points to the scouts being so wrong then when, in fact, Purdy performed miraculously great against top NFL QBs. Don’t forget, Purdy’s stats are better than Mahomes this season. And Purdy has beaten the GOAT Tom Brady, and other “great” QBs like Hurts, Prescott, etc.
Is it just me or does Kyle sound like he been drinkin??😂😂😂😂
yeah even when he arrived on the bus he looked buzzed lol
Why don't you have a zoom call with nick wright and collin cowherd?

Life isn’t about you is an awesome line. I’m a bigger fan now. All my friends clowned me for being a fan. But ever since I saw him play his first game I said that’s it he’s him. Now he’s in Super Bowl .
Because he's young and we don't know if he's Joe Flacco or Joe Montana. Count me cautious but hopeful.
My personal opinion is that he'll build on his strengths and silence the doubters after a few years of consistency.
Purdy is the MVP. Lamar may win it with his 3600 yds and 24 TDs, but Purdy was this season Most Valuable Player, hand down. He was the MVP talk from week 1. Lamar played great in December, Purdy played consistently well all season long.
Packer backer here, and Brock Purdy fan I might add.
They do it because BP was not an "elite" quarterback, and their brains just can not deal with a backup becoming a full-time starter which announces to all the other teams, GMs, coaches, owners, analysts, and pundits that they were/are wrong about him.
The answer is 262itis. The talking heads cannot understand how they got it so wrong in the draft.
Yep, it’s analysts being stubborn and refusing to admit they were wrong. And then from the fans who hate on Purdy, they’re jealous that a different team found a great quarterback when their own team hasn’t or had to pay a ton in the draft and/or with a veteran contract.
@@bradleybrown4436 To be fair, the Niners spent a lot on Lance AND Jimmy G. That cost will play out over the next several years in terms of draft picks. I am sure jealousy and embarrassment plays a role in the discourse.
@@xavierb9061 name 10 available quarterbacks who could do what he’s doing at his current salary
Brock also looks like something off Leave it to Beaver. He represents a throwback to older times when a QB won with grit, character, and wit. If you go by the modern metric for what a QB should be, he doesn't check those boxes, he contradicts the consensus narrative. He's a reminder of why QB might be the only position on the field where the most physically dominant human might not be the best player or have the best career.
@@googleisskynet7312agreed. That's because 80 % of QB play is done with the head. Not the arm or the legs. It doesn't help (much) if you are a super athlete if you throw the ball to the wrong place every time. Of course, you need control of your body and be able to do what the mind tells you to do, so you can't be no slouch either, even though you read defenses like a children's book, but the mind comes first. You have to be able to make the right decisions pre and post snap to be a good QB.
Great kid. Definitely the undisputed starter for the Niners for years to come. Good luck Sunday Brock!
Rich. We have seen this movie before. They said the same about Brady when he started
Thank you for a job well done BP and supporting casts!
Purdy needs a new label. Borrowing from what Joe Montana recently said about himself, he should be known as The Mailman.
Sicario Silencio
Rich? Are you feeling okay? You're not sticking to your previous narrative of highlighting what he can't do. It's actually refreshing to see someone not bashing Purdy for what he's NOT doing. Thanks for this video.
I think some people don’t want to completely jump off the Brock train because they’re worried he might actually be that guy! And they want to be the ones that rocked with him the entire time!
What I think people forget is that the most important attributes of great NFL quarterbacks are mental. Pre-snap reads, post-snap reads, and knowing the playbook are often more important than accuracy and arm strength. Hard work. Hours of watching tape. Pattern recognition from tape and from experience. Confidence. Leadership. Optimism. Mobility and athleticism are way down the list.
Rich, you are as responsible as anyone for the negative feelings towards Brock. Brock has not said a word or made a claim or anything else. He just keeps saying I’m playing one game at a time. All the negative comes from sports media. Take a look in the mirror. You keep talking about Purdy for clicks… be honest!
I already had a lot of respect for Rich and his opinions and analysis on the nfl, but his consistent championing of Brock is just another reason why he commands such a high level of respect and loyalty from fans and the people who really care about the game and the nuances surrounding it. He’s a true legend of sports media
The national media always falls back on a dated narrative rather than do the work to understand if it's still true.
The worm is Nick Wright.
He just won't shut the ever-loving EFF up.
I'm a fan of absolutely no NFL team.. I just watch the sport and stay indifferent to it. Purdy is a freaking DAWG and will dethrone the Chiefs, thus creating his own Brady like career run.. even tho it's already begun..
49ers - 27
Chiefs - 20
Purdy - MVP
Your lips to gods ears ❤
He’s the real deal. Time will tell.
@ch-yq5yn it’s the medias job to get clicks. Saying Brock is this or that gets people interacting like we are now.
I have said this all year. People created insane standards for him after last year, and then trashed him when they didn't meet up to those astronomical expectations. Hes a good qb, nothing more, nothibg less
HES MET EVERY SINGLE STANDARD. HES PLAYING ELITE BALL. THE BEST QB IN THE LEAGUE THIS YEAR WITH 150 LESS ATTEMPTS.
It’s simple, Cam Newton was salty because he’s irrelevant so, like everyone on the internet he made a provocative take and everyone ran with it.
I think he's too self centered to be salty. More like desperate be relevant. Starved for attention.
It was a bad move on his part, because I'd forgotten how bad his stats were: 59% completions, 123 interceptions to 194 touchdowns. You average that over the 9.5 seasons he played and he was BAD, he should be quiet.
Did you happen to catch Warren Sapp's response to Cam? I think Cam is still feeling the burn from it.
@@nathanchildress5596yeah but he had one magical year. He won the college champ. He was good but his play was always unlikely to age well

It’s fascinating to listen to Rich’s crew do the EXACT thing this segment is about.
I think they're explaining why the media conversation is what it is, not necessarily that they agree with it. Though, to be fair, I'd understand why any fan of almost any competitive NFC team would dislike the Niners over the last 4 or 5 years.
4: 4:57 4:58 Speaking of Tom Brady . . . I'm olde enough to remember when I watched Tom Brady, while QB for the Patriots, throwing 4 interceptions in the first half of a game. In that game, they ended up coming back in the 2nd half and winning the game. I went online searching for when that came was and who they played against, googling "Tom Brady 4 interceptions in game" I discovered . . . hmmm . . . as a Pat, Brady had 6 games with 4 interceptions: in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2011. There were also some 3-interception games -- but I didn't record those. These games were spread across the season, from September thru December. I guess you remember the reaction when Purdy threw a couple against Cleveland (tho a missed FG made his game-saving drive moot), and the next week against the Vikings for a team loss, and then that Ravens game. Hmmm Just interesting.
Brock Purdy have not had a full off season training with OTAs since he was rehabbing his elbow last year. This year 2024 will be his full off season training and work out. I can see him get even better come next season.
Because you cannot have the last man in the draft beating up on your first round, and number one draft picks or the guys that are in charge of drafting got it all wrong

Cuz Purdy is the LAST PICK of the DRAFT!!! They HATE late rounders succeeding. Well, at least only Purdy. 😂
It’s not the draft spot, Tua goes through this and he’s a first rounder in a Shanahan offense. It’s Jimmy G. Jimmy is bad and made a Super Bowl. Therefore Brock/Tua are bad. (Brock is better than Tua, both are better than Jimmy)
@evilducks3710 That's true, but you gotta admit. Every time media talks about Purdy, they always bring up where he was drafted.
I agree, they’re just wrong. Much like people who think Brock just throws screen passes, they don’t actually listen to the other takes and make a hot take of their own. The pick position comes up, but it’s not core to the haters being wrong about him.
The core to all of the Brock hate is Jimmy G and Shanahan’s god like ability to get acceptable QB play out of meh QBs. Give him good ones and he blows up defenses (Ryan, RG3, now Brock)
This is why Rich Eisen is the godfather of sports media. He's gonna make you an argument you can't refuse.
Funny how ppl question his ability when he goes from the VERY last player taken in the draft, replaces a guy they traded 3 picks for, and has them in the super bowl...can we just respect the man's skill and ability to get it done
What in the following do you think got this comment censored by either Rich or Google?
Thats the ONE thing the great QBs had in common. THEY GOT IT DONE.... We live in an era where you get cheered on because of the NARRATIVE instead of reality.... Just like Socialist Germany in 1933.
@@TheGreatRepeller what are you on about being censored?
Yesterday- Cowherd says that he heard from a good source that Purdy will be the QB-2 next year behind Sam Darnold. I was also was told by a good source that the sky was falling- LOL. What happened to using good judgement before putting that out there? BTW- Darnold is on a 1 year deal and is not even signed for next year. He didn’t mention that.
From what I've seen of Darnold, he looks like a pretty good QB, and I'd feel relatively comfortable with him playing if something happened to Brock. Would I want him to replace Purdy? Absolutely not.
I've watched enough over the last year and a half to confidently say that the only QB I would take over Brock right now is Mahomes. That includes Lamar, Dak, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Jordan Love, Stafford, or Goff. They're all great QB's, but you don't just come in as the last pick of the draft as a rookie, become a team leader with a strong veteran roster and get voted as a captain after 9 games played in the NFL unless you're something special.
Lul, that is hilarious
If he was from big name SEC school or a west coast quartback mill, Brock would be the greatest thing since the kicking tee. But, he's from Iowa State, so the football 'experts' can't stand the fact that Mr. Irrelevant is one win away from a Super Bowl ring.
I just think that his truthers and detractors both sway way too far in their opinions on him. He is not the best QB in the league and probably not top 3-5. He is not the worst QB and definitely not a bottom 5-10 QB. Like, idk if it is that extreme to say that he is more likely to have a career similar to that of Romo or Palmer than Brady or Brees.
He'll win more games than those guys, but it's a team sport and Purdy landed himself onto one of the most loaded rosters with a rookie-contract QB at the helm that I have ever seen. Up there with Russ and Big Ben's early teams 100%. I know it isn't "fair" to hold against him, but that's the way it is. People still say that Brady was carried on his first 3 rings NOW, even though he was the passing TD leader in year 2 and 3rd in pass attempts while throwing to very average WRs. Meanwhile, SF this year was dead last in pass attempts even though they have the best skill player group in the NFL. When Brady, Manning, and Mahomes had loaded rosters they each had 50+ TDs and 4900+ yards. Purdy had what, 30?
Let's let Purdy win one or at least have a handful of years in the league before throwing those kinds of comparisons around.

MVP is a regular season award. Lamar already won it.
@@gregpenismith1248 I agree he was top 5 this year but this year and last have had the most ever QB injuries. Not many guys viewed as franchise guys were healthy this year for whatever reason. Not saying he still wouldn't have ranked highly if they were all healthy, but the competition the past 2 years has been more watered down, between injuries and this "changing of the guard" era with no experienced, veteran QBs around anymore. He could very well be a top 5 QB moving forward but I don't think people saying otherwise right now are totally wrong.
It'll probably take him doing this same stuff on a non-rookie deal for the naysayers to change their minds, and it's a bit fair. Look at the opinions of Russ before his big contract REALLY hit. It finally was over 1% at 4.9% in 2015. By 2016, it was 12% and the Seahawk went 2-4 in the postseason from that point forward with Russ at QB. I'm not saying that WILL happen to Purdy but it's possible. Luckily for Purdy, the team was perfectly built for a biiig super bowl window if they take advantage of the extra cap the next 3-4 years. But.....so was Seattle I guess lol.

Lamar the running back who sails his passes is going to win the votes are already cast before the playoffs.
@@alloutwar650 did you inspect the individual votes ? I think not
@@craigcanning5836 It was already decided by the media lamar is the mvp after he "singlehandedly" beat the niners and the media started pushing for him to be the mvp so i have no doubt the playoff bust lamar is the 2023 league MVP even though cmc or purdy make a significantly better case for it.
Been saying for a while, the negativity is because he is a very "outspoken Christian". C.J. Stroud's speech was edited a few weeks ago, ESPN has done it countless other times. Media wants honesty from players, just not too much when it comes to their Christian faith.
Facts
And also don’t forget that Purdy doesn’t have “drip” and “swag.” If so, they’d be gargling his balls. But because he’s humble and quiet, he gets chastised by the talk show dummies.
i think its because nothing about purdy looks like hes a eltie level nfl qb......
Makes total sense that Cam newton would talk Purdy down.
They are complete opposites.
Newton 1st overall pick, prototypical QB stature, loud, arrogant peacock, not well spoken, craves attention desperately.
Purdy last overall pick, not prototypical QB stature, quiet, modest, well spoken, doesn't seek attention.
Oh, and one more difference after Sunday: one will have won a super bowl, the other not.
It’s not about numbers. It’s about letters and Purdy has plenty of “W’s” early in his career that doubters have to tear him down.
This is right up there with people criticizing and making things up about Caitlin Clark! Where does this come from?
Wonder what those two have in common
They both went to a school in Iowa? 😮
It’s actually very easy to see why people question Brock Purdy.
How?
"I don't understand how an industry that runs on tearing people down could possibly be tearing down Purdy" he said without any sense of awareness.
Ask Amy, apparently she thinks Purdy isn’t a great QB. 🤷🏼♂️
One of the worst takes I’ve ever heard.
She was a Raiders exec, they don't know much about quarterbacks there.
@@nathanchildress5596 The Raiders were able to compile an outstanding record of 53-123 during her last 11 seasons as Chief Executive. That .300 win % is etched in Raider lore for all time. LOL
@@gregrizzo8054 Ouch. For real what's up with all these people with bad records having podcasts where they dis people? If I were Cam or Amy I'd take my money and lay low.
@@nathanchildress5596 It's like rolling coal. Most everyone looks at you, but 99% of them are thinking, "What an idiot", while 1% thinks it's cool. Shortly after that no one cares. After the Super Bowl the only ones watching Amy's or Cam's pods are their family, because they are forced to. Basically the same audience they had 2 weeks ago.
I appreciate your stat lines in this one.
Purdy is a baller and no thought for himself.
Purdy is just excelling in Shanahan's system but he would be meh everywhere else. There's really nothing to overthink about this.
Armchair QB comment. He's running a variation of the west coast based system which the Packers use (Shanahan tree), the Rams use (Shanahan Tree), and the Chiefs use (Bill Walsh Tree via Holmgren). I just mentioned a few teams who use it, there's more out there. If he can run the 49ers offense it means he can also run the other teams running the same concepts.
Nah he is elite at processing the pro game. Some just have it, most don't 😊
They don't want to admit Purdy got talent. Sure, he made some mistakes but who doesn't? It's normal. This man is going to the SB against a great QB and head coach. If that's not an accomplishment then what is besides wininng the SB ofc? It'll remain to see if he can win but from the time he enter as starting qb up to now, Purdy has been great. Slander needs to stop
Agreed. Even Mahomes makes a mistake but defenders will blame every other player on the Chiefs. Purdy deserves the hype
Everybody forgets Mahomes made a lot of mistakes early in his career. like every qb.@@elscruffomcscruffy8371
People remember the Edelman catch against the Falcons, they don't remember that that pass bounced off of the defenders hands. Horrible throw my Brady, but it doesn't matter, he made a mistake but he didn't let it get to him. He also had a bad pick at the beginning of the game. Brady capitalized on the big play that Edelman made and led the incredible comeback. That's exactly what Purdy did against the Lions after the Aiyuk catch, that's what elite players do. Step up when it matters most. Brock has IT.
Oops
coach was hammered ifkn love it😂😂
Good to know they weren't blind in seeing Trey throwing ground balls in practice.
Thank you Rich, you are one of the few that has had this kid back all the way through. I LOVE ME SOME PURDY!!!! He is so humble, I don't get it, his personality so down to earth, he's just a really good person. How I want him to win SO BAD so he can rub it in all there faces. But I know he won't because he's to humble to do that.
I'm glad Rich is taking up the cause for Brock. Maybe he can get the ball rolling in the national media.
I don’t typically don’t ever comment on videos on here. Or anywhere for that matter. I saw a snippet of this video which cut off a p***ed me off. So I found it on here so as to be able to get the full lowdown. N I couldn’t ask for a better rundown of where I am in my mindset about Glock Purdy. N my thoughts on him could be seen as skewed because I am a 49ers fan. But this video for me just proves that for me that, that surely isn’t the case cause the facts are the facts and the numbers are the numbers, and you can’t take at the very least that away from him and I say screw the naysayers. So thank you Rick Eisen and I am now a new subscriber sir. Again thank you I appreciate the info!!!!
The issue is that people KNOW that he is good. This conversation about him being a "game manager" is the public challenging how good he can be. It's a larger conversation about will Purdy be able to truly step into being a great/elite quarterback and not just good quarterback.
I agree with Rich. Brock Purdy is so imposing and humble as opposed to many athletes that people can’t believe he’s as good as he is leading the 9ers. Just listen to his teammates and actually watch his performances. This kid is a baller!
The hate is ignorant. Two nfc championship games in 2 years at age 24. He will never be Allen, Lamar or Patrick. He doesn't have to be. Celebrate success instead of jealous meaness. He is playing amazing. Highest pro bowl votes. The draftism and he isn't 6 feet 4 and 240 pound.
It is the "style vs. substance" question. I would rather have people constantly ask, "how did this guy win?" than "how did this guy lose?". I'll take the win, you can have the style.
Brock Purdy is the man
your going to be right Rich Eisen
If they admit how good Purdy really is, despite all the naysayers, the scouts look lame and their measurements don’t work that great. Brady picked in the 6th round, and Mr Irrelevant. And this ‘game manager’ leads the league in QB rating and yds/attempt! You nailed all his firsts! Crazy how they refuse to see or admit how good he really is. Great breakdown!
“The list is Brock Purdy”. 😂😂😂
Thank you for finally bringing some facts to the table and showing that Purdy is effin elite and right now, this season he's effin better than Mahomes. Nuf said
The 49ers totally redeem themselves, I love Brock! He is in my top 5 QB's I like to root for! One is Herbert, Purdy, Allen, Staford, and the back up QB to Purdy, Sam Darnold
I hate the daily flip-flop of takes that come out during the media week of the SB
The thing is eventually it will be like the Brady story, the fact that the media is doing all of this, makes it more nicer.
That passer rating stat in the first two years is crazy.
Brock Purdy I think has simply realized early in life what most people do in their late 30’s and early 40’s if you’re successful (not just monetarily).
Be of service to others and act with integrity and things tend to happen
We always say: “stay ready for when opportunity presents itself.” Brock has done this and we scrutinize him? Something is terribly wrong here, a story like Brock should be celebrated, not hated. Absolutely nothing was handed to him, he keeps his head down gives us his best every day. But Brock is smart, he doesn’t need the industry to give him recognition, his faith gives him all he needs to keep pushing through.
Brock Purdy is my favorite Cinderella Story!
I'd much prefer having one Purdy than ten Cam Newtons.
This is ridiculous, and I'm a niners fan. Smh
2:33 Rich nailed it right there
When I saw him beat Brady, I knew he was legit 👌❤️💛
