    Good shit. I actually figured out on my own that I shouldn't keep my arms overhead until I can hold my legs low, and I was confused as to why none of the folks on RUclips pointed that out. Until now. ^_^

    • @TheUnheardVoices_

      3 sets of 15 seconds for starters.
      3 sets of 30 seconds for intermediates.
      3 sets of 45 seconds for advanced.
      3 sets of 1+ minute for experts.

      Hi there! I suggest doing direct core work like this a few times per week. I recommend holding the position for up to a minute, 4-6 times.

    I find it very hard to breath when doing this pose by any chance do you know what I might be doing wrong?

    • @BarbellBombshell
      @BarbellBombshell  7 лет назад +11

      Fille Parent the hollow body exercise is a very challenging isometric hold. It will definitely make it difficult to breathe as you are contracting so many muscles at the same day. Make a conscious effort to continue to breathe through out the hold.

      Your probably doing everything right ! It's hard to breath because your working the muscles where the air is going (your abs) make sure your not tensing your neck whilst in the hold as this can cause breathing difficulties too.

    • @tactical.sawyer
      @tactical.sawyer 4 года назад +1

      Math Davies it’s about proprioception. You don’t breath into your abs, nor use your abs to breath. It’s about knowing how to separate mechanical movement between your abs and diaphragm. Activating your abs shouldn’t mean you hold your diaphragm tight. With practice, you should learn how to brace your core without affecting your ability to use your diaphragm to breath.

    I can’t lower my legs yet, I’m wondering how often should I practice this pose and how long should I hold for?

    • @morganbrown8538
      @morganbrown8538 5 лет назад

      Bruna Pinheiro I’d say go for time. 3 sets of 30 seconds first thing in the morning. Just knock it out. Work your way to a solid hold for a straight minute and a half before moving on to lowering your legs.

    This is super hard! I must be really weak. I am gonna try to make this something I do maybe every two or more days. I am a beginner, so I hope that isn't too much.

    Can you pls explain more about the neck position. This really hard on my neck. I’m tucking my chin but that still hurts.

    • @TheUnheardVoices_
      @TheUnheardVoices_ 3 года назад

      Neck pain is often caused by poor technique so don’t do anything you can’t do yet. If you feel unnecessary pain, then take it back a step and get comfortable with that step before attempting another one.
