Eric Clapton is an in international guitarist, singer and songwriter renowned for his hits “Wonderful Tonight,” “Pretending,” “Call Me The Breeze,” “Forever Man,” “My Father’s Eyes,” “Change The World,” and “Layla.” He worked with artists like B.B. King, Roger Waters, Peter Frampton, and George Harrison - amassing billions of global streams and is the only three-time inductee to the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
    Lyrics:
Some like this and some like that
And some don't know where it's at
If you don't get loose, if you don't groove
Well, your motor won't make it and your motor won't move
    Bow-legged woman doing the boogaloo
She got a jive, she got a move
    Turn around, do it again
    Bow-legged woman, where you been
Fat Jack owns a honky-tonk downtown
You can catch a woman if you hang around
You can tear down the door, tear down the wall
Fat Jack he don't care at all
    Easy come, easy go
    Anyway the wind blows
Hey, drummer, drummer, can you give me that beat
Can you give me that beat, got to move my feet
Guitar player been all around the world
But he can't play a lick for looking at the girls
One two three four five six seven
Well, you'd better change your ways or you won't get to heaven
Eight nine ten, gonna stop at eleven
Eleven just lays around with seven
If time don't tell you then don't ask me
I'm riding on a hurricane down to the sea
If you can't hear the music, turn it up loud
There's movement in the air and movement in the crowd

I honestly think that Clapton worshipped JJ Cale in his own way. Said that JJ was largely behind his coming out of hell in the seventies. Then he just launched into that Tulsa sound era which I just love. Most of his band were from Tulsa at one point. You'd think it would be JJ worshipping Clapton, but it isn't. I love these clips of them playing live together. And without Clapton, we might never have even heard of JJ Cale. Their relationship is a pretty cool story ♥

Cale is Jesus, Clapton his disciple its that simple. They are so perfect playing and singing together. So sad JJ left us too soon, he was a great musician and wonderful human being and wish to God I might have seen him play live knowing more and more Blues greats every day. They are like two brothers to each other and to see how they interact in performances shows it. How wonderful and some people are always on Clapton for what I know not, he seems to always be good to everyone playing with him.

This is the true meaning of "imitation is the highest form of flattery". Clapton always gave J.J. Cale credit and worked with him whenever he had the opportunity. He didn't just steal a sample, or remade the song, without giving the original artist credit. Mad respect.

I listened to Eric 1st time at 16 yrs old. Our mom & dad we're very strict and we weren't allowed to listen to secular music. When daddy would leave for work, I'd take a little transistor radio, go to the pasture lay in the sun and listen to Layla over and over. As I grew up I'd listen on the car radio as much as I could with a fulltime medical transcriptionist job, was raising my son, James Bradley (a professional sketch artist sold a sketch of Hugh Laurie for approximately $1200) and taking care of our mom for 11 yrs at home after a massive stroke, whatever else I did. I hadn't heard or listened to his music in over 30 yrs. I began listening about a yr ago and was just extremely deep into his life, how everything happened, the Crossroads project and concerts. He is an AMAZING artist and has a beautiful soul! NOTHING HE DOES IS BAD, UNINTERESTING! I would just dearly LOVE to meet him and talk just a few min. His concert in Dallas on Sept 20-21 will be the same time I'll be helping a friend dying of COPD in Mineral Wells, TX. I'm getting tickets and hope to at least wave to show my appreciation! So Eric, if you might see this comment or someone tells you, please......I'm just a 61 yr old female raised on a rural farm in Grant Parish, Louisiana, USA, and you life story is especially dear to my heart bc a nephew went through Adult Men Training Center through Teen Challenge. Would someone who knows him please ask him.........Ty♥️

    Clapton adored JJ Cale.
Claptons hits like "Cocaine" and "After Midnight" are JJ's songs.

So appreciative that Clapton is leaving a wealth of great footage of musicians playing and interacting with each other through music, whether it was Clapton at 70, all the Crossroads festival footage and now this!
He's forever been a messenger of music and to be able to watch the interactions that takes place within the improvised music is a valuable valuable lesson! Something we just dont see much of nowadays.
Just watch how he and JJ interact, while Doyle and Trucks watch as well. Brilliant!

We just arnt seeing these great Musical Philanthropists so to speak just George Harrison, Jim Croce or Jerry Garcia on the scene... Wish i was in my 20's during the late 60's early 70's. Cars, Guitars the women and the euphoric avail-abilities ;).
      All the best!

To me, the highlight of the whole Crossroads DVD 2004 was JJ Cale playing with Clapton. I always go back to that them playing "Call Me the Breeze" and "After Midnight" It don't get much better than that - the feel is there ... MAGICAL moment
