- Rootana and Instant Knockout Complete make great alternatives to HUEL and HUEL Black (see links below 👇👇) . But why? I break it all down, on why I think that just because Huel has the biggest marketing budget, doesn't mean it's the best complete nutrition shake - and why Rootana and Instant Knockout Complete are great alternatives
Check them both out here:

Thanks for the update!
Instant Knockout Complete is high in sodium, only 3g of unsaturated fat from the total 13g, and has the sucralose artificial sweetener. The Huel black editions Do Not contain Sucralose, but cocunut sugar. Theres also unsweetened non-black editions without sucralose. Rootana is also high in the sugar. Sorry but marketing isn't the only reason Huel been a popular option.
Im from Mexico and it really sucks that I cannot get any of these
Still a fan of the Huel black personally!
Not available outside uk and us but maybe one day 👍
I'll give them a blast thank you.
i order rootana isee how it goes
Tried huel a couple of years ago. I couldn't drink the stuff. My question is is this any good for weight training? I mean rootana?
@@stevebee2865 you probably want something with a bit more protein for weight training... Like the Instant Knockout stuff
What do you think about Huel essential? Which is the cheapest version of Huel. Does it fill you up the same?
nice breakdown thanks
You say you don't like sucralose but are recommending Instant Knock out which contains Sucralose.
Hello, you are doing a great content, keep going :D You tested a lot of meal replacement powders but you never tried Queal. I tested it and for me the taste is soo good. I would like to know what do you think about it :D
I did review Queal... But some years ago... It's probably changed a bit since then
Nice video 😁
Well tried rootana. Still haven't found anything that tastes as good as kachava and it's not even close
Which flavor did you try? The chocolate Rootana is delicious. Kachava also good but expensive and the portion size is only 240 calories, Rootana is 400
@@unclebob8419 chocolate is the only flavor I get in any meal replacement shake. Vanilla isn't good in any brand to me. I put half a banana or scoop of peanut butter in kachava to raise calories. Kachava tastes so much better the cost is well worth it to me
@@Beardman56 I prefer rootana, it's got more of a natural taste. Kachava has has monkfruit sweetener in
@@unclebob8419 well I'm back. It's really weird I've been using kachava for so long I guess I got used to it. Tried a bag of rootana and then went back to kachava. I'm actually starting to prefer rootana.
@@Beardman56 me too, used kachava for a while, now I'm fully converted to rootana, I much prefer the taste and I get more food for my money.
Would you recommend either over huel if you had to pay for them all? That's the key thought here.
Yes, Rootana is much easier to drink and tastes a lot better than your base HUEL IMO, so it tends to be my go to.
@@CliveIllenden only tastes a lot better than base HUEL? What about other flavors of HUEL.
Any recommendations for aussie products? Seems like rootana or huel don’t ship to Australia😢
I'm not familiar with any Aussie products that are like Huel, or Mana etc - hopefully Huel imports to Oz soon
i need your help my good sir i need to find meal replacement as good as rootana and huel black edition but im located in canada and those compagnie dont deliver here and i would like to find something as good as those 2 plz help
I'm not sure if these Canadian based companies are still around
Hol Food
Biolent.
Vitalhouse
And I can't vouch for the products as I've not tried them. You can check to see if www.latestfuels.com has reviewed them. I know the guys that run the site and they know their stuff.
Rootana seems to contain quite a bit of sugar.
We made it with as little sugar as possible, it doesn't taste very sweet. One shake a day is not much sugar in your diet and it's coconut sugar, it's unrefined and contains added nutrients.
How do I get the discount for Rootana? I used your link but the discount was never applied.
Ok, thanks for letting me know - I'll check with Rootana
I like how you excluded "sucralose" from your pitch. LOL. No thanks!
The gums in Rootana are a no.
Huels terrible for you. So many better alternatives
Rootana has 13g of SUGAR per serving. So, 77.2g straight up SUGAR if you had 2500 kcal of of it for your day. For me building muscle a tiny bit it would be 98.8g of SUGAR. Both 77.2g and 98.8g of sugar in a day are insane and against NHS guidelines for adult intake of sugar. This shake is not food, but a sugary treat! The principal carbohydrates of coconut sugar are sucrose (70-79%), glucose, and fructose (3-9% each). It's WHITE SUGAR from a fad coconut.
Hi, thanks raising the concern about the coconut sugar. The NHS in the UK advises that it is safe to consume up to 30g of free sugars per day, the American Heart Association advises 36g per day for men. One Rootana shake is approximately 1/3 of that intake. We recommend 1 or 2 Rootana shakes a day, depending on your needs. We do not recommend consuming Rootana 5 times a day. It's been created for people who already eat more of a natural diet and want to continue that when they don't have time to make food or are traveling. Some added sugars in your diet can be healthy, high excess sugar intake on a continued basis is what causes health problems.
@@Rootanafood thanks for your reply. If that’s the case, then I assume you would update your website to say that - Rootana is not food, but a treat that has more sugar than a bar of chocolate, so it’s for people that are already having a healthy balanced diet. Maybe it should have a “treatwise” warning? To make people pay attention not to consume too much. Usually the products of this category are designed to provide complete nutrition and not include a high dose of sugar, so I hope you can imagine how it could go under the radar. No wonder Clive in his review mentioned it gave him a buzz!
@@mildmannered1086 Well thought.
Who is going to have 5 portions a day? 13g of coconut sugar once a day is completely fine
@@unclebob8419 for you, Uncle, if it's fine for you that's your opinion and preference. I only spoke the facts.
Jimmy Joy is the closest to Huel in my opinion
