- SsangYong is a Korean conglomerate that we in Europe probably got to know thanks to the Musso SUV in the 1990s. The Korando started out as an off-roader, but in the third generation - in line with the prevailing fad - it turned into a crossover. The fourth-generation SsangYong Korando made its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor show. The engine range was a 1.5 turbo petrol and a 1.6 diesel, with optional all-wheel drive and an optional AISIN 6-speed automatic. But SsangYong also had an all-electric Korando up its sleeve - Korando e-motion.

I find it interesting that a smaller manufacturer like SsangYong have been able to release a relatively decent new EV, especially given their ownership woes. It really goes to show how much the Japanese carmakers are dragging their feet at the moment.
Also, two videos again this week Marek? You must be the hardest working car reviewer in Poland. Time to ask the boss for a raise 😆
SsssssssangYong is quite a big player in Korea.
Excellent review as always sir..not sure this brings anything new to the market 🤔 but it's all about choice & there's certainly plenty of that on offer in today's car market 👍

I noticed some UK-based reviewers have done the Korando e-Motion a while back. Have you seen any of these cars in the wild?
@@MarekDrivesENG hi, I haven’t seen any on the road yet funnily enough, starting to see a few kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson (I have recently got a new Tucson hybrid which I am enjoying) and one or two of the new Niros, but no new Korandos yet.. seeing a lot of MGs, all types however
This car feels old even if it new, allso all that piano black panels will be scratch like in no time! But the revive is perfect as always Marek! 👏
At least in the UK, The petrol and diesel version have been on the market for a couple years .....but with minor exterior changes. So you are absolutely right
I think they'd have done well to add like a Kia to add a small front storage area but you can't have anything with a value for money budget brands
Hyundai and Kia are what Korean cars are like today. Ssangyongs are like the Korean cars back in 2000s

SsangYong is very well known in europe, but not for the best of reasons...
I get the feeling that Marek is struggling with this one.... can't blame him to be honest. It's like asking a greengrocer to explain cellery... Yes, it will fill your stomach, and yes it has some nutrions... I guess...
That looks very close to the Mahindra XUV400
I think the XUV400 is more like a Tivoli in terms of size, but yes, they do look rather similar.

When someone says SsangYong, I immediately think of ugly cars, but . . dare I say this looks acceptable. Not pretty, just acceptable. The first SsangYong you can live with, without the shame of driving it in broad daylight 😅
I recall seeing a concept of theirs at some car show, and it was even more acceptable. Unfortunately they tend to dilute their design.
