  • The Laissez-Faire Leadership style is one of the three classic styles. We'll look at its definition, examples, characteristics, and skills. It's often criticized as being a weak style but we'll look at examples in movies and in real-life management as well as its strengths and weaknesses. This is the first video in a three-part series on the autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire styles.
    Autocratic: • Autocratic Leadership ...
    Democratic: • Democratic Leadership ...

I regularly tell this to my subscribers: "When you are walking and working in a rhythmic leadership mode, you have clearer thinking and a sharpened mindset that ignites your purpose, passion, and priorities."

Laissez-Fair leadership is the best, because it creates confidence and trust. No one wants to be followed and told what to do all the time. Look at three educational levels I.e. Primary,Secondary and Tertiary. At Tertiary level learners enjoy the 'let them do it alone' free style, which is like the laissez-fair leadership.People want to be trusted and depended upon and this doesn't take away the managers' authority in any way.

If a leader is unable to lead or don't want to lead, then better get the hell out of that place and allow someone else to do the job , who knows how to do the job.

A good leader is neither overbearing (which is based on extreme masculine control tendencies) nor absent/laissez-faire (which is based on extreme masculine overly risk tolerant tendencies) but rather the best leader is nurturing and attentive to the differing stages of each team members' current stage of growth and future potential (which is a more feminine trait)

I have a mix of democratic and laissez-faire style, but so far, it seems to not work too well. Since I observe that most people prefer strict guidance on what to do and when to do something.

If the lower paid person is coming up with all the solutions, perhaps they should be promoted and the laissez-faire leader demoted or better yet fired

This is a misunderstanding of the style. The hands off leader gives room for others to feel as if they should be in charge by giving the freedom. Unfortunately people with your mindset then seize control leading to the typical stifling enviroments most people hate.

You can make a hybrid of this and autocratic.
Be a reasonable dictator that acts as a Lassier, step in brutally when they managers go out of line.... Or if there's no order... Let your managers be democratic and supervise it...
    Be a dictator - democratic - lazy

    • @jogreen12

Similar to what I had thought. Unfortunately it would likely only work if the leader has no superiors. The disciplinary actions required would be seen as a red flag by a board or superior.

  • @ssssssstssssssss

So it will work well for people who are high in conscientiousness and highly skilled. If your workers are low in conscientiousness, you'll probably fail.

    • @orgcomm
      @orgcomm  2 года назад +3

That's what the research shows. If followers are highly competent and highly motivated, then it works well. If followers have low skill levels and low motivation, these leadership style is not a good approach to get results.

So the actual style that one talks about here is massive light control across the board... the most seduction control to the universe, also the most persuasive.

  • @bluetickbeagles116

The style is an absolute horrendous style, whenever the subordinates are learning their job. It sets up the new person for failure, and whenever the leader does not take an interest in the growth of the subordinate, even if that subordinate is intelligent, and has the ability to learn.

You’ve added to this style the inability to coach or train. That’s not true. I’ve had several leaders with this style and they have been great trainers, provided I was ready to do the work without them pushing me.
