It was a generous review. I knew this movie took more creative liberties. The Holy Grail isn’t really a biblical artifact, it’s an artifact from the King Arthur Legend.
Nice review. Now you should review Monty Python and the Holy Grail! ;) Or perhaps even Life of Brian. That film never mocks Christ directly but it does a hilarious job of satirizing organized religion and its various dogmas.
Greetings. I recently watched your video about the twenty four elders explained. I really enjoyed it. Do you have any video(s) on the 4 horses/horsemen of the apocalypse?
I think your score was just a tad low. I think what could be evaluated is how faithfully the movie displays Christian principles. For instance, look at all those fake grails. They're shiny and decked with jewels. The Bible clearly tells us that it's not worldly riches, like silver and gold, that are most important. It was the villains who got suckered in by the riches of this world and suffered for it by losing their lives. "Whoever trusts in their riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf." -Proverbs 11:28 We also see Indy obey his father even though the two have a strained relationship. He even goes into Berlin, calling it the lion's den (the story of Daniel, anyone?), even when the German Army's after them. His father knows something that Indy does not, and Indy does as his father says for the sake of their mission. "Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord." -Colossians 3:20 Because of that, I would probably give the movie a 50% Biblical score.
I recently watched this movie for the first time and enjoyed it. I really like the reverence whenever someone speaks of Christ in this movie and how they made sure to make the Grail a humble cup. But when Marcus said the Grail is the key to the divinity in all of us, I couldn’t help but think “Wait, is Marcus a Mormon?” (Thankfully he’s not)
As "How it should had Ended" Pointed out....what was the point of guarding the Holy Grail then if you'd just become mortal again after crossing over the Seal?
@@TheBibleExplained I think it was a 2-parter. So the current guard could give a warning to whoever chose wisely, and so they could feel like there was a purpose to them living in a cave for hundreds of years.
It wasn't that they became mortal again after crossing the Seal. The official novelization explains it a bit better than the movie does. Drinking from the chalice gives you 24 hours of immortality. In order to stay immortal, you would have to take a drink from the chalice every single day. The novelization also explains that the knight guarding the chalice refused to drink from the chalice on days that he remembered having impure thoughts, so he was actually quite a few years older than he otherwise would have been.
Loved the video. There is a game called Sons of the forest. It's a survival game with "monster" as so on but in the game there are "demons" you can kill with the cross. I wanted to hear what you have to say about it, I'm not reading to much in to it. I enjoy the game for its building and survival gameplay.
Well you should have at least given the movie one more point for Henry Jones Senior chastising his son for blasphemy (refreshing in any modern(ish) hollywood movie).
I think that last point you gave was out of pity. Your calling "the temple falls apart and the relic quits working if you take it outside?" biblical because Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden? A temple full of head cutting saws and invisible bridges and a room full of mostly cursed cups cannot be an allegory for Eden. And God wouldn't have a sinful human knight gaurd over the tree of eternal life, he put an angel there to gaurd it. An angle who might just be a disembodied flaming sword.
Fair. I admit that both of the positive points I gave were really out of pity, but the last one gave me the opportunity to talk about the only time in the Bible where an eternal-life-by-consuming-a-thing power ever did exist and I thought that was an interesting side note. What score do you think the film deserves?
@The Bible Explained about what you gave it. I wouldn't give the last point you gave but I'd give a half point for the Joseph of Arimithia thing. Even though that's not biblical, I didn't realize that it was still a real centuries old tradition which I feel like should count for something, even if that tradition is probably wrong for all the reasons you gave.

Craziest thing about this comment is it's the first time you've seen this movie lol 2023 wow. Wild.

Yeah, that definitely didn't make any sense

@@curtthegamer934 Ahh thats right! (also read the novel) It was like hitting pause on the aging process.
Because man is only made immortal through the grace of Jesus Christ. No cups, seals, or anything else.

Imagine individuals like Hitler and Stalin having access to the Tree of Life!🌳😳
