  • Loving the new duck boat blind and the new opportunities it can bring. This was a trial run and it turned out to be a great day!
All adventures come with challenges. What you will not see in this video was the 3-mile journey through thick fog in the dark. I am very thankful I've got good quality navigation on my boat. Without it, I would not have made it out today.
UPDATE: October 2023. The Blind is NOW back on the boat. Fishing season was great, but it's time for me to move to the Duck Blind!

I hope people that see this, will see the breaks in height of the blind. The center of the boat is not open for the birds to see and the profile is NOT another square box. There are no straight lines in nature ! You could build the height of the blind up on the shooter’s backside to break the shooter’s head and it would be even better to make it cover half his head . The addition of different vegetation to break the grass only look would make a more natural appearance. After 55 years of building blinds that fool the wariest birds I’ve learned a lot and this is my best recommendation. Happy hunting, I wish you well pilgrim! Chuck

Hi Chuck. Excellent advice! Building up the height from behind is exactly what I need to do. The guy that built this for me had actually recommended it. Now that I've got had a few hunts out of it, I think I will be making some modifications in the future. Always trying to improve and your comment is exactly what I'm after! Appreciate it, and good luck to you sir.

what kind of blind is that? Im looking to build a blind for my 16ft lund deep v and trying to figure out how I want to do it

I had it custom made. Comes in 4 sections 6 feet wide each. I don't have coverage in the front or rear so I just throw netting or fast grass over that. Next season will probably make some kind of addition to cover those areas better.

I'd love to see a video on the frame of your blind! I currently have a scissor blind that I'm looking to replace next season.

Kitts! Everyone was either sick or had Christmas stuff going on. Couldn't wait to test out the new blind. Still got some work to do on it, but I'm pretty happy with it so far...just need to brush it in a little better! January mallards are gonna pay!
