This plan is so seriously flawed it is hard to know where to begin. Traffic is already horrendous and will only get worse. 2 billion from the Bears will be more than matched by the taxpayers who will pay at least this amount for all the improvements, cost overruns, and union construction labor. Socialism for billionaires and capitalism for the poor fans who will pay for this fiasco and will never be able to afford to go to see the games.

There is no traffic solution. 75000 people converging on a lakefront stadium with no access from the east makes crushing traffic a problem no amount of engineering can solve.

Plan hinges on the city and state paying for all of it. Remember Grandma McCaskey and her 12 kids need a new pair of very expensive shoes. Bears net $190 million/year. Seems like a lot but split up it's only $15 million each and who can live on that meager 5th highest profit in the NFL.

It would be great to have the Bears stay in the city, but that soldier Field colonnade? It’s not exactly attractive… I think they can build a much better monument for those fallen soldiers and for the ones who are still alive. I mean seriously, it looks Updated and something from the 1933 worlds fair, or whenever that was. They could build a really great looking monument… And build a fantastic stadium with all these different amenities with even a botanical garden if they want within the stadium area and park so the fans can enjoy so many different things besides football. Even outdoor concerts would be so much more fun when surrounded by beautiful greenery.

I would give that bears stadium to the White Sox and let them build on that land and the Bears go back to arlington at least it would be a lil warmer for the Bears no sense in demo that race track for nothing and its more fresh land to deal with!!! Just because you build a home for the Bears in arlington heights dont mean their not the Chicago Bears its plenty of sports teams or racing events built in nicer places outside of the city i see no problem with that especially knowing that its still close to the city!!! I mean some of these hardcore originalist are just crazy asl!!! Like i said if they are worried about the money going to arlington well let the White Sox renovate the old soldier field!!! The climate would just perfect for baseball season over there on the lake front!!!

Ok so first of all this guy this reporter his name is Lou Canellis. He covered the Bulls as their sideline reporter for Sportschannel during the 90s glory years. And he was awesome. So getting that duly noted but this is such a pro Bears mini documentary almost. Give credit to Lou for all his knowledge and investment of time with the team and the city all these years. But this definitely tilted pro Bears and I think unless he is currently a representative of their team and presented as such this is kind of cheesy and PR to me. Though I hate to criticize Lou because again he was amazing covering the Bulls in the 90s and added a lot. As did Norm Van Lier. But on this I thought the Bears ie the Chicago people are still paying a $500 M bill with interest on current Solider Field renovations. So how about getting that slate wiped clean by the McCaskeys who have made a boatload or make that an aircraft carrier full of money off of Chicago Bears fans. Then we can talk about this new grandiose project.
