Had it done Tuesday . Full recovery is several weeks. The pain is bad from where the camera was in. I had 7 "holes" in total. 5 were very small like 5mm. You need to eat small bites of stuff like pudding/apple sauce or similar every 2 hours to exercise the esophagus. Soft meat loaf/mashed potatoes/gravy work well. Avoid sticky foods like rice. Day 1 I could already burp and NO REFLUX. Avoid fundoplication if you can. You usually cannot burp or vomit. I also had my 5CM hiatal Hernia repaired. To be a LINX candidate you need your electromyography test to be at a certain minimum value or above. Despite 20 years of reflux/hernia my electromyography was normal. (100%) The removal rate is 3% or less. Small bite-swallowing Q2HRS helps it to be successful. Because my LES was pulled up through the hernia for so many years , it no longer works (why my GERD was SO AWFUL) The LINX replaces the sealing that your LES did. A major part of the surgery is repair of the hernia and pulling the esophagus/stomach back down into proper position. Placing the LINX is just one part of the whole repair process the surgeon does to get a good result.
Hello, how are you now? Do you still have Linux? Are you currently taking medications? Can you eat sweets, chocolate, ice cream and fizzy drinks without problems with acidity or other things?
@@almhaaaagr I can down a whole pizza at once if I wanted. ZERO reflux. And had some stomach virus almost a week ago and threw up just like a normal person. Avoid fundoplication at all costs , it is outdated Stonehenge stuff. Most people cannot even burp or vomit normally. I can eat anything with zero reflux.
I had this 5 years ago and have not had any GERD since. My recovery was a very long time. I lost 20 pounds because it was very painful to eat after. I went in one time after surgery for the surgeon to open it up more. After that I could start eating. Best thing I ever did was this Surgery.
20 yrs suffering here , 3 weeks post 5CM hernia repair and getting stomach and esophagus back in place , AND the LINX now have NO GERD and stopped PPI's Total recovery takes up to 12 weeks to eat more solid type foods but at 3 weeks I ate soft cheese pizza and orange chicken bowls so far. The Dr. is lying , most people have a type of Hiatal Hernia that also needs to be repaired in addition to the LINX. I have 7 incisions and 2 hurt like HELL for 2 weeks or more. Getting the stomach back down and the esophagus back in proper place is a LOT of work. If you don't do that , there IS NO CURE.
I am on day #3 from having the LINX surgery with my Hiatal Hernia repaired. Before being qualified for the LINX surgery I had to go through several different other tests and procedures that were painful. After having this surgery I have been in so much pain it’s unbearable at times. My doctor used my incisions from my gallbladder removal to implant the LINX. I am in so much pain and I can barely eat I am on a soft food diet but it still hurts when the magnets try to open up then close after the food passed.. it’s still super swollen.. and I get the urge to vomit and then I can’t because the magnets don’t open up. I’m trying to give it more time but this is super hard. Glad it helped for other people. 🤷🏽♀️ The good news about it is that I haven’t had any reflux or heart burn.
@@vrd5911 Yes! Two months later recovery has been rough for me and I lost 23 lbs unintentionally from not being able to eat what I want because food will get stuck trying to pass through the LINX. I just trained myself to eat smaller bites. Meat is super hard to get through. But overall I’m better than I was two months ago.
@@desireet5374 thank you for responding and can you make a video talking about the surgery before and after and how it’s changed you. And if it’s worth it. I’ll make sure to like and sub if you do. Would really help out people who are considering this surgery out.
One surgeon told me that the Linx can become entangled with the flesh as it grows causing the Linx to fail and a nightmare to take out. Why was this not mentioned?
Linx definitely gets scarred into your esophagus and cannot be removed. It is NOT REVERSIBLE, contrary to all these slick sales videos. So when it fails they have to just leave it in and do fundoplication around it. And no one knows what the long term effect is. My doctor told me that it's "uncharted waters." Get NISSEN FUNDOPLICATION!!! It is the gold standard with half a century of studies.
Wish I could get help with getting this surgery.

Hi john. When did you have linx installed?
what went wrong ?
Not true. Eating small bites often, is what prevents this during the healing. You develop FLEXIBLE scar tissue in that area.
@@MikeTyson-wl7ou He said "could" Did not happen to him. Well you also "could" be struck by lightning too.
Sir is it available in India?
I hear it can move causing nerve damage.
This was cool
