Francine, I just buy a bag of "frozen" pearl onions, that's just waaaaay too much work for me. Yes they go flying, that made me chuckle. I can see my dog Pepper trying to catch them, she sometimes gets under my feet bugging me for people food or looking for dropped food when I cook. I swear she always acts like she's starving to death when she's absolutely spoiled rotten LOL!
I throw pearl onions in my soups and stews ALL of the time. We love them so there's always a bag or two in my freezer.
If we get a store bought chicken I'll freeze the leftover carcass and save it to make soup later because we rarely eat the whole chicken. And two carcasses dumped in the pot is better than one when making chicken noodle soup, plus it's nice not wasting the leftover chicken. I kind of like two bags of pearl onions, you can never have enough of those little babies in soup... And I add in frozen roasted corn. Yeah two bags of those too along with chopped celery with it's leaves. I make enough soup to freeze in quart sized bags and give some to my neighbor. 😂
I really don't have a recipe when I make soups, I just dump in whatever I feel like dumping in the pot with chicken stock. Sometimes I'll use egg noodles, other times it's orzo or ditalini noodles but pearl onions ALWAYS goes into the pot. 🤪
Hope you are doing well. 🤗

Sounds great, pearl onions in chicken noodle soup would definitely add a lot of flavor. We love using orzo, egg noodles etc. in soup recipes, they look great and add some body to the soup. Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing MeowEwowE ☺
