That is so true. Tell a few stories in the evening and one at night before bed for kids and their parents or guardian. It would be a great job. I and my son would be one of your first customers but you are too far away. I'll have to memorize your stories and tell them myself. Its best if a on-parent tells them. It's just different.

My family lived in Bushnell, Florida in 1973. We had some friends who claim to have seen a female and young “ Yetti” in their back yard ! I was 16 and me and my 2 sisters were horseback riding in the woods on a trail one afternoon. Our horses stopped abruptly and were nervous! Everything got really quiet and we just sat still for about half a minute listening. That primal fear you talked about gripped me and we turned and galloped BACK the way we came! My poor younger sister, 7 years younger, was kind of left in the dust 😆 She had a pony and my other sister and I had large horses! I feel really bad because she was telling us to wait, but there was no thought of slowing down 😅I’ve never experienced anything like that since. I’m 66 now and would like to think I would be the last to turn and run and put others first 😳 Loved all the stories and I believe every one of them!! Thanks, Terri W.

Hi Chris,,enjoy listening to the stories people write in to you ..I had a scary night upstate New York…on my property ..No people around way back in the woods..I sleep in the back of my truck ,it has a cap over the 8 foot bed..One night something bang on the center of the cap at 1 in the morning..thinking maybe it was a owl with something it caught .?.because I heard a owl earlier..fell back to sleep ,then 3 in the morning again something bang on the center of the truck cap again ..I’m talking loud ,,scared me again …I had a cheap flashlight ,not much light ..I open the tail gate and jumped out a min..later,,nothing was there ..to reach the center of my truck cap 7 feet off the ground then 2 1/2 feet over ..Always wondered what it was ..

Iv had a creepy experience in Woburn woods, Milton Keynes, England(uk). Me and my mate went into the woods around 3am cause we were young and bored, we went pretty far into the woods where it opens into field that has a view across Milton Keynes, there’s a steep hill that you need to climb down to get into this field, people use this an mountain bike jump, once we got to the bottom and to the other side of the field we heard knocking back up in the trees, no animal noises, dead quite, when then heard VERY heavy footsteps walking at the top of the hill, no way a man could stamp that heavy while moving that quick, me and my friend looked at each other and legged it out of there, he to this day doesn’t go back to the woods, I do and still have many strange things happen there, it’s not the biggest woods, but if you wanted to hide something in there you probably could

Thanks Chris. It is so nice to be in a community of other "experiencers". When you witness something as unbelievable as these things are, it really shakes up your reality! I have found that I have to be very careful about who I can share my experience with. I think some people are too afraid to entertain the idea that there are these big, cunning , possibly dangerous creatures roaming around in the woods. It would make it pretty hard for them to enjoy the great outdoors. It is easier for them to just ridicule our encounters. I get it. But it is so upsetting to see these things and not be able to share the experience. I am not making it up. I saw something so far removed from any other animal I have ever seen in the woods. I know it was a gift to witness it! Not many get the chance to.
Thanks so much, all the best to you.

BF bumper stickers everywhere, etc. But I recently brought one of my stories up with a Hawaii friend who gave me the eyeball as if I'm a crazy person. But then again, people in Hawaii have Menehunes or little spirit people who get blamed for lost car keys and who ate the last cookie. :D This same person relayed a personal story about Pele the goddess of the volcano, so hmm. :) I know what I experienced as well.

Of course, like any bear or even human, don't mess with their kids lol!

Great Channel!! Thank you for all the great videos. I was land surveying in a remote area of Alberta, Canada north of Nordegg. We were finishing up a right of way markup and I was about 800 yards away from my crew and truck. Suddenly I felt dread and a for sure feeling of being stared at. The feeling was so intense I couldn’t bring myself to look in that direction. I started to speed walk back to my truck while talking to myself. As I realized I was still a good 500 yards away from safety, I started running towards the truck and heard movement parallel to me getting closer. Miraculously I broke through the bush and saw my crew chief loading the truck. He saw I was as pale as a ghost and asked: bear? I said no. I just need some rest. I couldn’t even bring myself to talk to him about it as it was so intense and unusual it may have caused him to think I’m crazy. Luckily this was our last day in that job. This happened in September of 2005.

Recently I bought my quite rural home in West Virginia. My property line is shared with Nathaniel Mountain Wilderness. Last summer I was asleep in my upstairs bedroom with my wilderness facing window open. I woke to the sound of a loud, deep female voice talking in an unfamiliar language. She spoke with varying voice tones and pitches. It sounded like she was a short distance into the woods. I was so frightened, my heart was racing as I rushed through the house making certain the doors and windows were all locked. The voice stopped but after a few minutes I heard loud noises, like someone slamming several times with a large piece of wood on a tree. A couple minutes later I heard a loud cracking sound, like a tree limb breaking. I laid awake and frightened for the rest of the night, but heard nothing else. The next day when I was outside in my yard, I saw a dogwood tree near the edge of the forest had been broken in half. Since then I make sure my house is always securely locked up at night.

I enjoy the periodic stories from Pollock Pines having lived there for over twenty years. The bar mentioned by one of your commenters we lived across the street from.
The area spoken of by another, between hwy 50 and hwy 88 is very familiar to us. This is an area where we cut firewood every year.
Our story wasn't an actual sighting or vocalization, was more an individual nesting area.
We were well into the forest ,many miles, having started late in the season. Everything close in had been picked clean close in. We found a place on the edge of an old burn that was good pickings. After cleaning up some seasoned downed cedar and fir, I began scouting around for any possible hardwood. I climbed a hill that over looked the area we had just cut in - having spotted an oak that may have shed a large limb. On the back side of the trunk of oak I found a large pile of gathered acorns at the edge of an obvious impression in the dirt. Something large had obviously layed there. My first reactiin was bear. I called my wife up to see what I had found.
Although I told my wife that it was more than likely a bear. Something bothered me about what I had found.
Bears don't stack acorns in a neat pile and there no bear signs around the area. ( scat , tracks or tree rubs ). No vehicle tracks other than our own. Suqurrels or rodents wouldn't stack and leave a neat pile.
My wife admitted she was suffering from unusual fear when we first got out of the truck, but, it had intensified after my find. She had never felt that way before having been raised in Pollock Pines since her early teens and spent much time in these woods. Me I am wary but not fearful. Never go into the wood unarmed or your head where the sun don't shine.😁

I have motion detectors and spot animal movement when I’m awake at night. My dog needs to go out sometimes so I set up something like an airport system so I can spot an animal coming around on our blind side. A Bigfoot certainly is not concerned about stealth. If I saw one in the window I would find it hard to close my eyes for long. Your channel is amazing.

By the way, I could be wrong, but I think Gregory meant to say "cher" at the end of his comment, if so, then it's actually pronounced "shy", which is cajun french for darling or honey.

Thank you Chris for the viewers stories. So interesting that so many people have different experiences of the unexplained, and things that go bump in the night. I have had a couple scary moments in My life. Please be careful out there fixing creek tacos with those bears out there. Always looking forward to Sunday evening with the best of Base Camp Chris stories.
And the fine connoisseur of fine ale. 😃🍻cheers and keep hiking 🥾

Always great to listen to these stories! Grew up in San Diego CA and now live in Colorado for the past 3 years. I can say I know exactly what that "terrified for no reason" feeling is! It happened to me a couple times while out surfing in Oceanside CA. It's a feeling deep in your soul like, I need to get out of here now. Come to find out later that day there was a 10-12 foot great white sighted near the pier where I was surfing! And I've felt that while out camping here in Colorado as well. Not sure what it was that time but I just had that sinking feeling that something was close and saw me, but I couldn't see it...

Hey Chris, thanks for these videos. Lol I found your channel bc of your outdoor gear reviews. And was hooked when u told scary stories. Being native American from the southwest, these stories hit home.❤

All of your stories are scary. Enjoyed the writing of Trish. She appears to be full blooded for partial Native American. I am part Cherokee and this is the way that we view Bigfoot - a keeper of the forest. Who is to say that Bigfoot just maybe left over from the Neanderthal Period in our world. They could have survived the Ice Age.

I like the comment from Tricia. I'm led to believe that Bigfoot isn't violent unless confronted or threatened. I kinda think it's funny when they throw rocks at people but yet I would have a healthy respect for these creatures. All these stories are so fascinating to me. I think there are things out there we can't explain and I wonder if the government knows more than we do. I love your stories Chris and look so forward to them. Thank you for reading all the comments. Some very interesting stuff. Personally, I refuse to go into the woods or forest. I like adventure but I'd rather stay on the safe side. Lol. Stay safe out there Chris!!! You are a brave soul . You bring us enjoyment and the heebie jeebies!!! 😅. Hugs
