Finally! Somebody to demo these drums as something else that an acoustic kit replacement. As an acoustic set, and played as such they sound fake. As an extension of a drum machine and played as such..,Mind blowing!!
yeah that's what i thought. i got an acoustic kit right next to me.. but i want something different(which also happens to be a great practice tool) i can't spend two hours tuning and modifying everytime i want to switch to dnb or something like that. :) i only bought a td11kv but that's already a very capable module
what a groove and creativity. 4:50 to 5:20 is my favorite. it's still pretty simple but even his simple playing is fascinating and original. I'm gonna study him more and try to incorporate some of those ideas to make my "standard" beats sound more interesting
that might actually be the sound they're going for... this kit has seemingly infinite settings.. and ive heard other drummers use distorting bass drums before, like aaron spears in some of his solos
When I watched this on my tv I didn't notice it b/c I was just listening through the tv speakers, but I just watched it on my desktop with headphones and I could hear a little distortion on the kick drum at 4:43. I would think that could be fixed very easily.
What I haven't seen anyone do yet, is play these through a huge PA, with big deep kicks , toms that will knock you on the floor and some hard rock/metal snare sounds with great Fender/Gibson tube like overdrive, guitar riffs even some kb samples of B3s, complete with Leslie emulation and some funky, walking bass lines and more Cowbell! ha ha! Let's see some of that! Don't make me come down there! peace!
Does anybody know if it is possible to "layer" sounds like that with triggers on an accoustic set and an SPD-SX? WIth layering I don't mean enhancing the sound but getting melodic sounds in a specific order and key when he hits the tom for example. So playing the actual melody on your kit via his module. Hope someone understands this haha, I have a hard time explaining it:p
he wouldnt fit well in dream theater. lol actually he hasnt been in any bands worth mentioning. he has ridiculous chops but seems to have zero song writing ability. kinda sad to be honest, because he is obviously super talented
@ericsteven99 learn to play the drums! It's awesome! I wish I had the money for this quality of kits. If you want to learn to play I'd recommend getting the roland Hd-3. It's a really good starter kit and it gets you to the point where you need to expand in your techniques. Then go for something like this, or something cheaper and not as space consuming like the td-15kv!
Wow, talk about bad advice. DO NOT get a cheap shit electronic kit. Get a decent starter acoustic kit for the price, and put mutes on it if you have to.
Anav Sawhney I got a cheap electronic drumkit, and I'm doing just fine with it. I am more comfortable with electric kits because they can be easily adjusted without having to re-locate a whole lot of other stuff.
Definitely some drummer haters in these comments. But I bet none of them have half of his skill. One of the reasons the internet sucks makes everyone feel like they're pros or experts. But you're still waiting for a call from Roland to demo huh? Keep waiting.
I should just make a Kickstarter to get myself all this 😂 I can't get real drums because my folks would never let me practice those at home. And I know I'll want better drums as soon as I have a cheap set of electric for like a month. And even the bland looking cheap ones are about 500$.
I see the same thing at guitar center when 12 year olds are playing on these kits...... how about something with some structure instead of 10 seconds of mindless chops

He showing the individual sound of drums and how they are not just a metronome... Do you want to see him play just a basic boring 4/4??
