Thank you, these are everywhere in Anza Borrego. Its called Creosote-bush. Its said some Creosote bushes are some of the oldest plants in the world. Also has a really unique smell, really fresh after it rains. :-)

Hi Helene, So good to hear from you :-) So fun isnt it? I always love traveling with my Plochade Box, was a bit pricey but worth every penny! And that little bee, just made it all that more special for sure. Happy painting friend. Will have to work on that camera angle to get a bit closer!

Hehehe, I wonder what he would drink, maybe some sweet nectar? It sure was cute, and they were buzzing around me all weeekend, we did put a large pot out with water and they flocked to it!

Some insects love watercolors! I had to get rid of a palette. Some tiny things got into my palette, and they especially liked green pigment. All this was inside I since learned green is a favorite for some insects. Funny? Not when I was painting.

Im glad you enjoyed t his, yes :-) Ive done grass in the past, a fan brush is perfect as well as wetting an area with a glaze of paint, and using a palette knife, credit card, to scrape out blades of grass. Both great techniques.
