@@mr.sophistication3232 Yes! Tony Gillham, who originally helped found Antimatter Games, purchased the rights to '83 via his new company Blue Dot Games. He's stated in his informational that he is bolstering his team with former Antimatter employees in order to retain the same vision, and hopefully it will pay off! Blue Dot recently accepted playtesters for a very raw game build in order to get their bearings on how to proceed.

Great video, you definitely covered the topic reasonably well regardless of your involvement. At the end of day I think it's a huge shame as it would've brought a challenger to Squad and Hell Let Loose and just some variety so it's sad to think we probably won't be seeing Burning Lands making it to release, but my faith is restored in 83.
Competition is always good, gotta keep the big guys on their toes to prevent them from getting complacent. All they had to do was just not screw up, release the game and make money. But it's just sad how one person can derail the entire thing.

what needs to happen is all these big name content creators should get together as investors to create the fps game we all want cut out the greedy investors and write up contracts that legally bind developers to a realistic expectation that delivers a solid product in a time frame they are comfortable with that doesn't feel like it's taking the piss rather than continue this terrible trend of creating videos on games that could be great the answer is right here and i hope more people sees this and it inspires a change.

Chance is clearly a narcissist. Men thought it was a good marketing strategy to harass RUclipsrs in the hopes of making them put out a video every month to talk about screenshots of Burning Lands’ 3D models. And he apparently treats his employees badly, viewing the game as HIS rather than a collaborative effort. Of course, he mutes people for criticizing….

As someone who started his own game studio, the story of this developer simply boils my blood. If the game my studio is making is successful, I will be using this as a major reason for why we need to help build a better game industry.
I was in the AMA for 2.5 hours. It wasn't shit talking, it was a cordial conversation, with a concerned overtone, and true transparency. Many people recorded it, I'm sure you could reach out to those who did record.

Every game over the past 3 years I have been excited for has been shit canned. I've had fun in HLL, but I was ready to go back to Nam. I don't know if I can go back to RS2 after over a year and a half break. It was feeling emptier and emptier and the SEA servers had quite a few notorious hackers that just killed it for me.
it sucks how we can't be happy and excited for something without it turning into a shit storm

@@Tantwo I feel your pain. I too used to work at a King of burgers drive thru. Despite wishing death on every customer, the horrific smells and fast paced frantic working environment- those five years were the most fun of any of my working life. Would not have believed it at the time though. 🤩

I still don't see how people can be anti developer here, i mean if the people actually making the game are getting mistreated and going unpaid like even if you only care about the end product and not the treatment of workers that's...that's not how you get a good game? This is exactly the kind of stuff that leads to poorly designed games, annoying pay to win business practices and all those things i know you all hate.
