She smiled all the time in the 60s animated versions each version of the Addams Family is its own thing with the characters being altered slightly to fit each version her smiling more while she attacks people or looks like shes up to something is fun.

@@aquaphazed Tim Burton is involved. He executive produces and directs four of the eight episodes. Not to mention, he had a huge hand in casting. He’s very involved.

Hmmm, Wednesday shines the most when pitted against "normal" society, so putting her somewhere where she feels she belongs is definitely a questionable decision. I'm sure there will be plenty of "be careful what you wish for" type twists and turns, but Tim Burton has been slipping for quite a few years. I guess we'll see how it goes...
I think they were trying to avoid similarities to the recent animated series. Plus the Morticia did say she wish she spent more time honing her skills in the dark arts so this doesn’t seem too far off 🤷♀️ I’m pretty excited to see how this goes!

@@JadeVoyles66 I feel like Tim Burton used to always hit homeruns but now sometimes strikes out. He still usually knocks it out of the park but when he misses it’s telling because he misses hard

Both Alice in Wonderland films
The designs looked awful and unappealing, the direction was confusing and too childish and the stories were bland where changed and poorly told when faithful. Just not good films. Compare that to the golden age of Beetlejuice, Batman, and even later films such as Sweeney Todd and I even really liked Corpse Bride. He has hits, he has misses.

The Addams Family Is Nostalgia
Seeing her murder those kids was what I always wanted since eight years old. The cartoon showed her and Pugsly always playing with dangerous objects and situations, yet nobody ever got hurt. I want more.

I didn't mind the first animated movie the sequel was below average though. I like most of the Addams Family adaptations cant think of one I hated except the direct to video one called Addams Family Values.
Wednesday just made it to my list of favorite gothic girls Hex Girls,Raven, Creepie Creature, Lydia Deetz, Mal and Evie and Lucy Loud
She has always been the icing on the cake. So to speak, stood out from the background of his family.
The trajectory of this franchise is literally thanks to Ricci’s portrayal in the 90’s movie. In the TV series Wednesday (and Pugsley) were sitcom kids that didn’t even appear in every episode. She was also portrayed as a lot more sweet but just likes creepy things like the rest of the family. The musical was based around her. The new animated movies are based around her. This… I love the character but at the same time… It be one thing if it was Ricci playing the role as an adult. But I hope the rest of the family get moments to shine. Tim Burton directing a teen drama? We will see.
Ricci is going to have a part in the show.

Wednsesday is well cast, Morticia as well, but what were they thinking with Luis Guzmán for Gomez? I will give you he is close to the source material as far as his appearance, but it is a bit off putting.
perhaps we have been conditioned to the camp versions ... but man, he really does fit the mood and is one creepy Gomez

The contrast doesn't work so well if there's a school full of kids just like her. I hope they don't focus too much on that place. Looks worth giving it a watch tho.

Them boys got out of pull quickly thankfully maybe they won't bully anymore. Some hospital care take a little bit he should heal fine again. Good thing he got out. Reattach everything if anything is missing.
Then comes either lawsuit or depending how wealthy the boys family they hire a killer to go after her. Or because she just made it worse for her brother and her they use him as bait within in a inch of his life to get to her. No they should not be bullying period. But these show makers take stuff to far. And paranias would not like chlorine in water they don't just single out one that your looking for and people are rarely bitten. I see they didn't mention anything about piranhas behaviors. This is wasted show.

The biggest problem with the Addams Family is the amount of suspended credibility the viewers have to endure. If Wednesday Addams really releases piranhas in the pool, she would have been put in prison for attempted murder. The dark comedy on this show only works if no one actually gets hurt. The show only works when their victims are shown the impending violence, but it never actually carries out.
Edward scissorhands made you suspend belief too. It had it's dark moments.
Do you just lack film literacy, or do you just not comprehend that film isn't always meant to directly reflect reality.
