A grand Winter railroad scene video. I'm guessing, from a higher elevation plateau? That smoky unit 1097, is in need of an engine overhaul. The oily and sooty exhaust can only mean, the rings in one or all of the cylinders are nearing a complete breakdown. Probably a valve job would also make an improvement, and reestablish full horsepower. NS 6996 is almost as in the same condition.
Good video work and nice locations. Tip - take your camera pics on trains other than those trains you're filming. The camera clicks can be heard and are VERY distracting. Head to WY, MT, UT, or CO for some REAL winter train filming. Thanks for sharing.
Outstanding video and audio quality, and praise the lord someone's using a tripod. I know that stretch reasonably well, although sadly haven't been since 2015 so thanks for the reminder of what a great place the Transcon is through N Arizona. Do you get out to the Crookton Cutoff at all? That's one stretch I'd really like to do!
Nicely done!! Thanks for braving the cold to share stuff like this with a flatlander!!!
Oh so cold and snowy, must have been fun driving/video-capturing that day!
Love the American railroad sounds, the horns and bells take me back to my holidays there. Here in the U.K. one inch of snow and all the trains stop, lol.

Awesome video. WOW, the piggyback/intermodal traffic on this line.

What.
Too bad you didn't get good shots of the power, to see if they had wheel slip and to see the locomotives.
