The ancient city of York is home to a venerable tradition of ghost making that stretches back many centuries. York Ghosts are an integral - although undeniably obscure - part of the cit y’s story. York Ghosts were originally made as talismanic figures and used as tokens of fortitude and good fortune, today their purpose is as potent.
Each York Ghost is handmade in a workshop above a remarkable shop on an extraordinary street, combining the best of British materials with the sagacity and resource of generations of Guild craftsmen and women.

Been today with best friends,we bought quite a few ghosts between us lol. There well made lovely to look at and so quirky. This shop is such a good idea and with our country's rich history no wonder york is so haunted. If i was a ghost I'd choose to stay in York fabulous place to visit so gorgeous xx

I took my daughter to york for the day it took over an hour waiting to get in. Worth the wait as got a pie from the shop opposite and some very nice fudge from another shop.
Got two ghosts and will get more next time they look great on the shelf and people always ask what they are.
Just purchased one cute ghost from them today. It’s cute!
I've recently discovered these and am trying SO hard to give this retailer my money!
I love that these little ghosties are hand made but I live 5+ hours away and I'm severely visually impaired. It's proving difficult to even start collecting these, which is obviously want the business wants because there are monthly releases and limited editions with no core set of e.g. plain white ones on offer online 😔💔

I got a seedling yesterday
I’m driving back from York as we speak. But can somebody tell me, how have these ghosts became so popular? I fail to see the appeal.
They became viral on TikTok which led to the popularity with tourists. We are local and haven’t been able to visit since we filmed this as the queue is always far too long, even in winter! 👻.
