People liked the switch to the r35 because it was alot faster and had alot more horsepower than the r34 (the supra's only a few MPH faster and barely any power. Also because it was still customizable, unlike the supra which will be very hard to modify. I think one of the biggest issues is that the r35 felt like a *Nissan*. With the supra sharing so many things with BMW, it just feels lost and confused as to what it is. Just my thoughts.

Im actually getting really pissed off with people complaining about the new supra, i mean, instead of complaining about having a bmw engine, think that toyota did the correct thing by not using a v6 or a hybrid powertrain and that this engine has loads of tuning potential, also don't talk about this car ruining the supra name because most of you only think that the mk4 is a legend because of the fast and furious movies and besides, most of u who complaint cant even afford it. @@mrza8910 The Z4 will be faster than the Supra. The Supra's B58 is detuned for (probably?) better daily ability and reliability, while the Z4 is pushed for performance. They are at almost the same price for the i6 option though.
Maybe it will grow on you, well 2020 is a year ahead so there maybe changes done to the Supra to make it more 'Japanese'. (The inline 4 edition is said to be produced for Japan's market, and its a Toyota's engine, so hopefully it would made your day about this news)

If they used the retouched rear-end that's been floating around on Instagram(with the wang and redesigned taillights), it'd be pretty perfect. As it is though, I'm just glad they kept the spirit of the Supra alive. As much as can be done in 2019, atleast.

@@BMWROYAL The tuning inside the Supra is Toyota. Some parts may be identical with the Z4, but the Supra and the Z4 is still miles of difference.

The Z4 will be faster than the Supra. The Supra's B58 is detuned for (probably?) better daily ability and reliability, while the Z4 is pushed for performance. They are at almost the same price for the i6 option though.
I can't remember how it really was but if I recall, Toyota tinkered with the engine a lot.

Maybe it will grow on you, well 2020 is a year ahead so there maybe changes done to the Supra to make it more 'Japanese'. (The inline 4 edition is said to be produced for Japan's market, and its a Toyota's engine, so hopefully it would made your day about this news)
