I've decided to order a D-15 based on the various 15 series instruments you have made demos of. Do you have any preference between the standard finish and the street master finish? Is one more popular in general than the other? I like both but wonder if I'll tire of the street master look over time. I know the standard model uses rosewood for their fingerboard and bridges and the street master uses Katalox. Do you have a preference here and is there a slight tonal difference? Someone told me Katalox is denser like ebony and transfers sound better. Lastly, does the 000-15SM have the power of the dreadnought model but just in a different body configuration Thanks, Bill
@@2628064379 Hi Bill, thanks for watching and your questions, glad if I can help you make decisions. The 15 series is great in my opinion, great look, sound and feel. I prefer and never get tired of the traditional standard finish rather than the Streetmaster, and I think over time it will keep its value better. A variety of woods are/have been used for the fingerboard and bridge on all the models. I think rosewood is only consistently used on custom 15 series anymore, such as the Gruhn 0000, which by the way is a great guitar that combines the best of 000 and D. But each is it's own thing and all sizes are great. The 12 fret 000-15sm does have more bass than the 14 fret 000, but still doesn't have the lush depth that the D has. But the 12 fret and 14 fret 000 have more mid range punch typically, and are more comfortable to hold. You can't go wrong with any of them, just a matter of preference of size and sound. Hope that helps, good luck in your search. Cheers! Todd
Very nice guitar music, beautiful sound.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
