In the second example (hair) you are converting micrometers to millimeters. Tutor stated micrometers to micrometers.

Micron or Micrometer (not the tool), is equal to 0.001mm, nm is 0.000001mm,
fm is 0.000000000001mm, the size of a proton.
    Wasn't too hard.
    0.001mm / 25.4 = 3.937007874015748031496062992126e-5 Inches in a Micron.
    0.00003937007874015748031496062992126 Inches.
Pretty easy, if you concentrate. But you'll never really understand how small that truly it.
    My math is correct. 1mm / 25.4mm = 0.03937007874015748031496062992126 Inches in a Millimeter.
    25.4 / 2 = 12.7mm
    12.7 / 25.4 = 0.5 Inch.
