I agree with the call to pragmatic action on our part, but if we are to eventually attain pre-eminence ourselves, we have to educate citizens along realpolitik lines, uncompromisingly.
Please don't exempt the US from this piercing scrutiny. Eventually, if we would've played our cards well, they'll mark us as a "strategic competitor" too. (And try to break us up into more _manageable_ pieces (Hint: 20th century Khalistan movement)).

Indians have a false image of Pakistans economy being in the gutter. If Pakistans economy was like how indians say that it is then the situation would be like Venezuela or Lebanon. Pakistans Gdp is expected to grow 4.5% this year after only experiencing a dip of -0.4 last year compared to indias -7.6%.

As a Pakistani, I appreciate your spot-on analysis. Few corrections that I would like to make:
1) There is no airbase named "Salala", probably you were pointing to Shamsi airbase.
2) At independence, Pakistani side of India was not known for Industrialization, but yes as bread-basket.
3) People like Hafiz Saeed don't attract people in lakhs in their jalsas, only few thousand. Last of such type jalsa may have happened as far as 15 years back. So a decades-old logic can't be applied to the current situation.

• China is trying to follow US’ footsteps in nation building and power projection.
• What China is trying to do, the US has already done it before.
