Great video Eliza! Like the combination of you talking while in the arena as well as in the voice over for added detail! You really seem like you know what you're doing in training the young horse that tends to be a bit ADD! Much better than the "winging it" approach! Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Baroqlvr good question! Unfortunately good cavessons are really hard to find. This one is from the Spanish Riding School, and has been in my family (and repaired many times) since the late 1960s! Sometimes if you can’t find a good cavesson that fits well and isn’t too bulky, just a snug leather halter is an option, or a rope halter for ground work. But I wouldn’t want to lunge in a rope halter.

Krista Christian thank you so much!
nice cavesson!
Hey, so I have 2 yearlings I want to start doing ground work with. Are there any videos or websites you would recommend I look at for ideas?
Such great info!
Deanna Corby thanks!
Great video! What brand of cavesson is this that you’re using? Where did you get it from?

Can I ask what your arena footing consists of?
That arena is sand and rubber. (Chopped recycled rubber tires mixed with concrete sand.)
