Do the new 992's sound shitty or maybe its just sound/camera/mic setup inside the garage? Obviously nothing about this video was based on capturing sound well but it is surprising how bad both cars sounded.
Not sure why the S58 sounds so bad in comparison but the B58 sounds so much better than even "equal length" exhaust S58's. I'm assuming it's the exhaust manifold for the turbo being unequal length because that's typically how the sound is altered into a raspy fart cannon.
@@ZWortek58 is single turbo and the S58 is twin turbo. That alone makes a huge difference. Go check out videos of 4n motorsport single turbo S55’s they sound insane because of the tubular manifold. And go check out other single turbo S55’s with a log style manifold they sound just like a B58
@@SIat Twin turbo setups can sound just as good as single turbo setups if the exhaust manifold is proper and equal length. I'm pretty familiar with this for RB26's as the stock manifold is unequal length and sounds like shit just like aftermarket unequal length manifolds. The stock exhaust has 3 dimples on the pipe, after the back resonator. You’re supposed to cut at the middle set of dimples. It’s the same cut for the M Performance exhaust. But Mike measures so good, it doesn’t really matter to you. It may help someone else watching this video, though.
Unfortunately, it is no longer the BMW engineers designing the vehicles on their new chassis, but rather its overpaid accountants in their bloated legal department that focuses more attention to the government regulations, rather than listening to what car enthusiasts want. Similar to the American education system, where there are more administrators than actual teachers. Just an absolute disgrace!
