Charley Yates is a good coursed for a good value, $14/9holes. Plus, they have a good driving range, a club house and a resident pro. It's right across from the East Lake Country Club. You can walk it or ride it. Nothing at Charley Yates is great, but everything is good. At $14/9 holes, it's a great place for seniors.
Atlanta local here - great list! I've played Legacy (Fox Creek is next door and it's great too, Legacy has GREAT bentgrass greens), and I've played City Club, the greens are super tricky and make up for the shorter yardage. Also Cobblestone is the best muni I've ever seen, check that one out!
Legacy is trash. It's all par 3s except 4 par 4s grouped together in the middle of the course. They overbook constantly. I tried playing a twilight round last month. At 7:45 the starter came out to chase us off the course because carts need to be in at 8. Meanwhile we waited several minutes on every tee box behind one of their instructors giving a lesson during a round.
20+ yrs living here and this list is awful…. So many gems and besides Barnsley Gardens the rest are awful. Top List of mine: Woodmont Cobblestone Bridgemill Reunion Bears Best Also so many great inexpensive private clubs.
Stone Mountain is waaaay overrated… they know they get touristy so they can charge a bunch for a less than stellar track… Surprise Echelon didn’t make the top 10 certainly better than Wolf Creek

Stone Mountain course, is a disappointment, over priced, 20$ just to enter the park
