Night Hangiri - Sado - Niigata - はんぎり

If you ever visited an old school sushi restaurant in Japan you may have come upon a large wood tub containing rice, these are called Sushi Oke, and Hangiri are simply just that in a larger size capable of accommodating up to 3 adults. Known in English as washtub boats, Hangiri is part of Sado Island's unique cultural heritage and has been an essential fishing tool for the people living on the Ogi Peninsula of Sado.
While newer boats have replaced Hangiri in Ogi, locals there are working hard to keep this unique boat floating. Anyone can enjoy a ride along on these little boats, and, just recently created this summer, a unique “Night” experience that is actually breathtaking.
If you are visiting Sado, do not miss this Night Hangiri opportunity as it was, for us, a truly magical way for us to reconnect with Ogi’s past culture.

Stunning! One of your best yet! Ok, need to ask several things...what camera and lenses (shot wide open or what common f stop), any or how much noise reduction applied, color grading process, handheld with ibis or gimbal??? Some of the best low light footage I've seen.

Thanks man! So, the Camera was/is a Z9. Shot in NRaw + NLog, IS012,000 (At max), Lens 24-120 F4, NR was applied in Resolve (do not remember the settings), Color Correction, none, I just used Resolve YRGB Color Managed settings, the first two shots where Handheld the rest is on Gimbal Ronin RS2.

Magiques 🧙‍♀️ instants que cette balade mouillée sur ses petites embarcations… comme de voguer dans les traditions ancestrales du Japon 🇯🇵 reste en visionnant se film, une délectation intellectuelle qui titille mon imagination ! Cela me donne le sentiment d’être à mon tour porté par ses eaux sombre avant que la nuit ne couvre ses images …
Ses bûcher au loin reste un signe de vie qui rassure rajoutant au mystère de ses hommes qui flottent sur ses coquilles de noix.
