- I went to the cat cafe Mocha in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The interior is very clean, and you can meet many cute cats.
The "meal time" when all the cats in the store eat together is incredibly cute and you should see it at least once.
The cats are really cute and it is a very relaxing place.

Not only is it a cat lounge, but a human lounge as well. The fact they have beds, comic/ work areas , AND games areas is amazing. Japanese people really value the experience of visitors. I appreciate this. Yet another place on my list of places to visit in Japan.
I wish I would have something like this here where I can just study in piece next to some cute cats

The Japan travel experience is like being in Disneyland that's the size of a country. Clean, well managed, friendly staff, great food, and so many fun places to visit, including this cat cafe. Been to dozens of countries and still can't wait to visit Japan again. No other countries like it.

The cats here are trained I think. The strays at the cat island are very rough and chaotic. They might claw your hand if you're not careful when feeding.

Did anyone notice that none of those cat interacted with another cat? They must be selected for that trait. Very few cats can ignore a toy toy like that, I thought it was disturbing. They are all clean and healthy, not over weight. They get exultant care.
Lol ya, maybe they are over stimulated if that’s even possible. I’m assuming that they get tired of playing with people after a while.
I suppose they don't have to fight for resources. I'm sure there happy it's just a different lifestyle. It definitely would be interesting to see the opinion Jackson galaxy has on the place

not true, kittens like to play, my cat was pregnant 3 times so i raised 14 kittens, they all play with toys when young but as they grow older none of them care about the toys anymore

How was your experience, was it quiet like in the video or does it get crowded?
@@Ishin69 It was nice and quiet when I went. I arrived shortly after 10 am on a Tuesday and there were maybe 6 other guests. The cafe is quite large though so even if there were more guests, there are still plenty of places to sit. They did the feeding soon afterwards which was great to see. I'd recommend buying the frozen cat treats if you want a lot of attention from the cats.

maybe cats do not want this life.... Those cats do not seem to have much life left in them I mean cats behaviour is not like this. That cat could hardly jump.

Japanese people eat quite loudly though, which may appear impolite at first but its part of the culture and one gets used to it.
I wish they had a café like this where I live. I love cats and in Japan of course everything is beautiful and clean. You probably couldn’t have this in big cities in the United States like New York and LA. I would love to be in a cat café, and I would spend hours there. They are so adorable all of them, and very well taken care of.
I feel like Japan is too advanced such cat cafe is so normalised they didn't blink an eye to them. Anytime I see videos like this the cat cafe is always empty.
I guess rather than cat cafe, its more like 'relaxing space to read, game, sleep with cats surrounding you'. I mean, come on, what on earth is sterilized automatic slipper machine???
If such thing is anywhere else, people would flock to it, it will be cramped, and it will be messy.
Im from third world country and Im blown away whenever I see videos of Japan, its like a literal different planet there.
It is very relaxing but normal hours especially weekends the place is absolutely packed with lines going out into the stairwells, its mostly also japanese people vising tokyo in the cafes
In New York and LA we have homeless cafés, where you might accidentally step on a used syringe…
There are cat cafes in the USA - usually with well behaved adoptable cats. Not on every corner no, and probably not that common in Japan either.
You need be behaved and humble, and that's a tall order for some Americans. Not worth the risk.

I think I’m most surprised by the amount of leather furniture that’s not harmed by cat scratches! Super behaved kitties.
apparently all cats had their claws removed surgically - otherwise claims from scratched customers and damage to leather furniture would be guaranteed

Those cats are well taken care of by treated with plenty of love, pets from visitors, treats, and fed from the staff.
Half of the cats I can imagine how they would feel (soft and fluffy) and I have to find a cat Cafe here in where I live so I can also have the same experience as you.

Putting them together like this incognito seems like it would minimize alleyway cat fights. I doubt, however, that cats are allowed to roam free in major Japanese cities.

Japan is definitely living in the future! These animal cafes and so many weird futuristic things are only in Japan, like for example toilets that automatically open the lid and automatically heat up the seat!😮

I love the vending machine culture in Japan. My first time ever there in my hotel there was a row of vending machines in the hall. And to my surprise one sold beer!
This is amazing. These cats are living their best lives. I wish people who leave their cats outside took note.
Break out that cat pop cycle and all the cats want to be your friend! Who knew 🤷🏼♀️ So adorable! I wish we had places like this in the states! All the cats look beautiful and well cared for. The only thing I can see wrong is they need somewhere to either go outside or at least be able to look at the outside. Otherwise this place is wonderful!!

There are some cat cafes in the US, but not very many.
There are windows and the environment is so open I’m sure the cats could care less

You simply cannot have places like this in America. The Japanese are much more well-mannered and careful of upkeeping a clean society, where as most of my fellow Americans only seem to care about themselves. I hope to visit someday.

I visited a cat cafe in Thailand and it was unexpectedly extremely therapeutic. I kept ordering coffee to spend more time there and ended up missing a tour I was meant to go on. Totally worth it!
Definitely. A lot of the tours in Thailand are toursit trap-y & way too hot. Cat cafes are better imo 😂

The cafe looks amazing, but I can't help but wonder how they make a profit out of it? It seems very cheap for such a good place.
Obviously the owner is loaded with money & doing this as a hobby ! Lol. There are people like that in Japan ! My mom used to own a memvers only restaurant in Akasaka back in the 80's ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
The owner must have tons of money and also maybe has several other businesses that make a good profit that covers this place. I know some business owners have sometimes a few places or 1 place that sort of gives back to the community. Like in my area we had a guy who owned a bunch of rentals where he makes most of his money, and then opened an education center to help getting your license for trade jobs, and it was free education and had formats for the free practice test to get licensed. But the area only takes in like so many students per cycle, so the signing up fills up mega fast. But its all free.

I went here several years ago and spent a lot on cat treats, and it was pretty crowded (before pandemic) with others doing the same. I can definitely see how they'd make a profit, lol.
