Hello I have a question From the VDO, which month did you visit? because the atmosphere is very beautiful So I can try to plan a trip during that month. thank you.
Yes but when they are shit small stinky cake in your room not sure you think that sooooooo cuuuuuuuute ... Shit is shit , monkey or not and its NEVER CUTE !
This is one of the coolest Ryokan. The monkeys are so cute and it’s amazing you can bath with them. What a beautiful onsen too. The landscape is so peaceful.
I visited this park in 2009, I can't believe you actually are brave enough to set foot in the same bathe as the monkeys. There were about 10 fellow visitors during my time, all of us thought it would be crazy to get into the pools with the monkeys given their tribal fighting between each other. Not only that, I doubt an emphasis in hygiene is catered there per the wild monkeys. . .
I just love that there are beautiful and unique historic places like this to stay in Japan. Thank you SO much for showing us all the beautiful places you show us! ♥
LOL I love the monkey in the Ryokan's bath looking like "'What's up!", like they're so used to people being there and are fine with it as long as you leave them be. 😁 Just beautiful with the snow. I'm in the USA in Pennsylvania and although we normally get a lot of snow this time of year, it's wet and gross right now.
So beautiful, I love it! I'm 16 years old now and can't afford this expensive travel to Japan (In my country travel to Japan would cost me at least 1700$+ for 1 human for 7 days...) But I have a goal, so I would visit Japan in the future! Snow monkeys, wait for me!
i think every weeb should learn the dark side of Japan! maybe then y’all wouldn’t idolized it so much, it’s a country not a utopia, and every country has a flawed and dark history.
@@oscarthagrouch Where i said that it's an utopia? Probably nowhere. I know the dark sides of Japan, but 1. Yes, every country isn't ideal, 2. Japan now isn't that bad as it was like 100 years ago, and 3. In top 5 countries I want to visit Japan is only on fourth place. I think that people should know about country problems, but saying everywhere "(Insert country name) isn't that good as you think" must be stopped imo, cause only kids idealize anything. And also, my country is way more worse that Japan because of criminals. I just want to move out of it.
@oscarthagrouch lmao you must have watched a couple of RUclips videos on "the dark side of Japan 😱", and now you feel you're in a position to tell people where they should or should not travel for fun? Guy just said he wants to go there once, not that it's a perfect country where he'll live the rest of life. Get real, dude.

I remember seeing features of snow monkeys shown when the 1998 Winter Olympics took place in Nagano. I hadn't realized there were such cold and snowy areas in Japan until then. I thoroughly enjoyed this feature and look forward to viewing it again at bedtime. Under an electric blanket! Thank you.
Extremely beautiful place! The monkey are awesome! Winter in Nagano is wonderful! The old ryokan is also very interesting, I like these little historical authentic places more than well-known museums and palaces. Doumo!
Call me crazy, but I’ve always have wanted to take a hot spring bath with Snow Monkeys; I didn’t know it was a real thin until now! Definitely putting this spot on my bucket list of destinations.
no way it was only $300 USD! i feel if we had this in America owners would charge 1,000s of USD per night.. This and many of your other videos makes me want to take a months long trip to enjoy all of the beautiful things Japan has to offer. it doesn’t seem to be budget breaking and overly expensive either.
When I lived in Japan some of my friends and I went to Nagano to camp during spring break, it was arguable the greatest camping experiences of my life! The Monkeys were everywhere! I got some amazing pictures and videos, and bathing in the hot springs was wonderful! Would do again in a heartbeat!
Oh my goodness and monkeys are adorable. I don’t know how they live like that cold like that. I know it’s hot Springs. I hope they all get fed. Well they all look like they’re doing OK that poor one monkey had a hurt hand. Hopefully he got in the hot water and be OK, they’re all adorable. Thanks For sharing, they all adorable🥰🌅❤️💕

I stayed there for three nights back in 2000, when the old Oba-san was managing the place. There were hardly any people there when I visited and there was a lot more snow - the posts around the hot spring had formed into a huge tower of ice and the trail was difficult to walk without snowshoes. I think I might've stayed in the same room you stayed in, because I remember the space for the tokonoma next to the area to sit by the widow and it faced the hot spring. I had a monkey that would sit and watch me drinking my beer and eating onagiri in the chair by the window, hoping I would open the window and pass it some. I don't recall the modern heaters being in the room - I'm pretty sure my room had a kotatsu and radiators. I was advised to avoid taking the hot baths until after 4pm, as the monkey troup would head back up into the mountains around that time, and its not much fun sitting in a bath with monkey poo floating in it and some of the monkeys can be quite aggressive at times. The food was interesting, though I always looked forward to the walk back down the trail to get coffee and Danish pastries from the cafe at the bottom. It was a great experience and I think I was lucky to visit at that time of year, when there was so much more snow and travelling was harder, which would explain why there were so few people there when I went. I would recommend this experience to everyone.
Just wait until you see polar bear swims. We do that here in Canada when it is -20c to -30c always with other people because the sudden cold can cause you to collapse. Saying that though, cold weather jokes are fun. How can you tell its spring in Canada? It's -10c and people are wearing shorts. It is and isn't a joke people really do wear shorts while shoveling snow when its that cold.
Now this is the kind of place I could really enjoy, and it's not even that expensive for what you get. Thanks for the video, I have to add this to my list of things to do.
what a great ryokan! thanks for the trip! It was very interesting to see the historical site. besides, ahah, I live in the north of Russia, and our temperature sometimes drops to -45 C, and the snow does not melt for 8 months 🤭🤭🤭 for me -8 C is the perfect weather for a walk!
Thank you for giving amazing content every time. I really enjoy when you go to special traditional places, especially when they are more hidden for Europeans like me. And to answer your question, I’m from Switzerland and I love the snow, so I was happy to see you enjoy it as well
I live in upstate NY and we get so much snow. I dislike snow, but I'd be willing to trudge through 30 minutes of it if it meant having an experience like this! Thank you for the video 🙂

What a great trip. I didn't know you could bathe with the monkeys!
Wao! It looks so magical and seems sooo beautiful ❤️🌸
Wow, this is our ryokan. Thank you very much for staying with us. See you again.♨️🐵
Looooved this so much, nice and calming !
Bro every night I always listen to this because it is so calming and relaxing it helps me sleep and calm down😊
why was there a half-naked man in the middle of winter? 😅 @ 7:57
ANOTHER FOOL DESTROYING AND DISTURBING ANIMALS WITH HIS TOURISM
They are so much smaller i bet i love these monkeys the most fun to watch they have a live channel 😊
This was a nice video to watch . Very relaxing not to mention the views are spectacular
pemandangan nya indah. alam selalu mempesona
Thank you for visiting this Ryokan! I was to visit her in 2006 but caught a nasty cold and had to cancel my visit. I'm glad to have seen your video!
Visited 5 years ago. It was so slippery. Great u had spikes on
This is the place I wanna be ! Chillin with the monkeys in the Onsen 😍
Deus que me livre de um frio assim 😅 eu nasci no Brasil, sol,sol e sol❤ mas a neve é belíssima!😊
what a great ryokan! thanks for the trip! It was very interesting to see the historical site. besides, ahah, I live in the north of Russia, and our temperature sometimes drops to -45 C, and the snow does not melt for 8 months 🤭🤭🤭 for me -8 C is the perfect weather for a walk!
Perfect weather for a walk?!😂 There's no way! haha Thank you🥰
That was so interesting and lovely. ありがとうございます😊🐒
Nice Video! I have a question: how if you bring a big luggage? Do you have to bring it 1.6km upstairs yourself?
You will have to carry large luggage yourself. We brought only the bare minimum in our backpacks🙃
Reminds me of my hometown (the snow, not the monkeys!) It looks like a lovely place to reflect, or write, or make art.
just wonderful its amazing my friend ♥ i love it
That was a really wholesome video!
Enjoyed watching it.
Also i didn‘t knew that i wanted to take a bath with monkeys until I saw this video😂

Hello from the UK 🇬🇧 its March and the area I live in Lincolnshire hasn't had much snow but other parts of UK have .
Adorable video xx 😘
Thank you for giving amazing content every time. I really enjoy when you go to special traditional places, especially when they are more hidden for Europeans like me. And to answer your question, I’m from Switzerland and I love the snow, so I was happy to see you enjoy it as well
Даже при просмотре этого видео становится очень холодно и неуютно, хотя нахожусь в тепле и комфортных услови́ях.
I live in upstate NY and we get so much snow. I dislike snow, but I'd be willing to trudge through 30 minutes of it if it meant having an experience like this!
Thank you for the video 🙂
This was a cute video
