Thank goodness the comment section is letting young or any naive people know that cakey makeup is normal. It doesn't stay fresh the whole day! Yes our skin is naturally textured, so makeup won't be perfect and smooth when we apply it anyway! x
It may be normal... But it's ugly and distracting as hell if it's noticeable. Makeup done right is awesome. But if you don't have the time to reapply or to keep it looking fresh, in my opinion it's better to go bare faced or very very minimal.
Its not normal. Don’t listen to people like her👆🏾 she’ll have you thinking looking a mess is “normal”. Watch her other videos in depth & she addresses other issues such as texture & all that.
Exactly. Cakey and textured skin are two different things. People with oily skin have larger pores and are more prone to breakouts. Some people that are prone to breakouts are prone to scarring with alters the texture of their skin. These “tips” aren’t beneficial to people that may have those issues. Texture doesn’t equal cakey.
@@Sunny-qs7gp I wasn’t referring to your skin. I was referring to the woman she featured in the beginning of her video. If her tips work for you then great. My point is that the “cakey-ness” she pointed out on the other woman’s skin isn’t a cakey issue. It’s a texture issue. Her tips don’t address that issue, and for the uniformed that could be detrimental to their make up look/skin health. No where in this video did I hear her mention utilizing oil-free make up to reduce blocking pores which is oftentimes the culprit in skin texture like the woman she featured above. Someone new to make up with skin similar to the other woman could take this creators advice, and use products that don’t match their skin needs. I’m just looking out so people with particular skin don’t go royally screwing up their skin thinking they can recreate a look that they can’t. The creator is free to talk about cakey make up, but next time she should use more appropriate examples.
You also need to have a skincare routine. You need to be able to exfoliate and even out textured skin with a nice collagen creamer aloe vera or both. And then your makeup will look flawless because your skin will literally be flawless underneath
No you don’t. Not everyone needs a skin care routine. I only wash my face with soap and water and occasionally use oil of Olay when needed…… skin care routine has nothing to do wirh it.
If you have oily skin yes moisturise but just before you apply foundation blot off any excess oil or cream that hasn't been absorbed helps your makeup last longer if you're using a serum type glowy foundation it doesn't matter quite so much but most oily people want a matte foundation so blotting is super important
I Love this comment ❤ I have oily skin and have never known how to deal with it 😒 I'm 56 🙂 & I've been wanting to get back to using foundation (I stopped during the pandemic) because of my oily skin I felt like I touched my face more than I should during that time. The trick to avoid cakiness is applying the correct combination of moisturisers for your specific face AND to apply makeup in thin layers. There are Korean makeup artists who apply 5 layers of foundation but it looks like 1 light layer just because they apply it in super thin layers. Skin is textured and the first picture wasn’t cakey, it was just more textured with a bit more powder than that face needed, it was drier skin than the video and the camera was high quality so picked up more detail on the face
Don't do this to people who are already insecure about their skin, it's always the people with clear and texture free skin that try to give advice about makeup without considering how lucky they are. The tips will help, but don't spread the information that textured skin is cakey
I do this as well. Maybe even a little less concealer, I basically use dots. Idk how others can make those triangles under their eyes because my skin can not handle it. It gets super creased and ages my undereyes sooo much. It may be do to the skin on my undereyes has always been super thin that you could even see my veins lol
how do avoid creasing on hooded eyelids? I blend the concealer on my eyelids then apply powder but for some reason it always ends up creasing and separating on my eyelids. could the fixing spray and setting spray I spray on my face have something to do with that? I spray a ton of spray on my face
Before you set the area with powder, make sure to use your finger and tap the product out to make sure it doesn’t crease and then right away grab a pressed powder ideally and pat that on to the eyelid using a powder puff or a sponge will work. And if you bake, always make sure to start with a light amount to set the make up and then going with baking
my eyelids are super hooded and oily. i never apply concealer or setting spray on my lids because it’ll instantly crease. a good eye primer is key. to be honest, i use the Believe Beauty Lock it In Eyeshadow Primer. it’s pretty much like clinical deodorant for your eyelids. they’ll be sweat proof and oil proof all day & night. my eyeshadow does not budge. & if you really just want coverage: apply powder foundation or matte eyeshadow that matches your skin tone over the primer.
