Kratos has a tough time showing emotions. He did that a lot once upon a time and because of bad luck, and dirt bag gods, the pain was too much. He's scared to love again...

The funny thing is...comparing with others Resident Evil MC, Ethan is probably the one with the most backstory and motivation. More than half of the protagonists on Resident Evil have as personality, motivation and final goal nothing but "I AM DOING MY JOB"

@@steelbear2063 Compared to a lot of them, Ethan has a lot more quiet moments where the game explore his fears and motivations. Compared to the others in earlier games where they are more akin to action heroes.
Ethan sucks. He's great.
My boyfriend and I do a lot of gaming separately but resident evil is something we always do together. He gets really laser focused and misses stuff so I have to shout at him “YOU MISSED SOME AMMO”. It’s a lot of fun

Ethan is actually stupider than the average male so you're pretty wrong there. There are moments in the game where you start wondering if he has short term memory loss because he acts and says things that's inconsistent to things that have happened earlier, or he'll act surprised when he shouldn't.

I think you touched on something really interesting here in that Resident Evil has always been a little B movie campy with AAA budgets. I think that levity has helped it endure so long. If we can laugh off something ridiculous, we let our guard down for something truly horrifying and we're less likely to grow numb to it.

SAME. I watch Girlfriend Reviews to sometimes check out games I want to play. If Shelby doesnt like the backseat gaming experience, it's better to buy the game to play it myself; LPs would prolly be boring. but if she likes it so much, I'll just watch LPers. Saves me money that way lol
same. I purposefully don't buy video games and consoles because I know I will lose all my free time, have terrible sleeping hours, and perform worse for my business. However, I do love watching playthroughs but more specifically, Watching Shelby and Matt :)

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with the perfect backseat experience. You can tell a game is phenomenal if you don't mind sitting through different people's playthrough stream more than once just to see their reactions to certain events.

Really? What did you like about it? I've given it a try but apart from the Leon campaign, it was absolutely awful
It got a bad wrap on release, but if you can put up with a little jank, it has some of the coolest third-person action mechanics I’ve ever seen. Sprinting, rolling, dodging, sliding while shooting, insta-shooting peoples’ heads, suplexing and drop-kicking enemies with takedowns, melee counters, etc. The gameplay has a way higher skill ceiling than most people think, and can look absolutely amazing in motion once you’ve nailed how and when to use all the moves.
Plus if you can accept the campiness, it has some of best story elements in any of the games. Leon is so much fun, Troy Baker is a blast as Wesker’s son Jake (and his relationship with Sherry is wonderful), and Chris’ campaign is _absolutely_ worthwhile, it’s genuinely compelling, and easily his best and most affecting story in the entire series. There’s a lot to love about RE6, you just gotta be prepared for 80% action and 20% horror, and a bunch of completely over-the-top insanity lol. While that’s not out of character for RE, it seems like a lot of people took offense to its tone for some reason.
It’s not a perfect game, but if you can accept it for what it is, it’s hard not to fall in love with it imo. It’s “The Avengers” of Resident Evil games

I played RE6 entirely, then I gifted it to my friend to play with him and in his words "The plot is too much like written in a crack high"
He was like "Dude seriously, he became a dinossaur?"
And I was like: "No dude, let's keep playing, we gotta get to the part where he gets lasers (joking)"
I had shivers with Shelby having her game version of "Today was a good day" from Ice Cube.
