I'm in America, but would you kindly please, in fact I would beg you to please tell Kia Corporate that there are people that have families with 5 people, and they want to put family members in the 1st and 2nd rows so that there is plenty of room for cargo in the back i.e., the 3rd row folded flat. And some of us want the top trim with all of its features. So far, to my knowledge, the only main stream 3 row crossover that will let me buy a top trim and still get a bench in the 2nd row, is the Ford Explorer (they charge an extra $495, which seems rude, but at least they offer it). Everybody else, including Kia in this lovely Telluride, force me into captains chairs in the 2nd row if I want all the goodies in the top trim. To me that is simply ridiculous. I have money to burn and I simply can't give it to Kia, Hyundai, or anyone else except for Explorer. Except I don't want to buy the Explorer, because it has reliability issues, and it doesn't have a Heads Up display, which is really weird previous version of the Explorer did. Anyway, hopefully I'm making my point: I want to buy the top trim and I want to substitute a bench seat for the captains chairs. Is that too much to ask? I hope you will talk with your Kia rep and give them this feedback. I know I am not alone. Thank you in advance. P.S. I know you want to differentiate the Hyundai Palisade and that Kia Telluride, would you please ask year for a four-way lumbar on the Telluride, like the Palisade has? I would much prefer the looks of the Telluride, but without four-way lumbar, I can't drive it for any sort of long distances.
The Telluride and Carnival are available with 3 seats in the middle row. I would argue that the Telluride still has exceptional levels of equipment at that level. The Sorento is a car that I'd like to see have a bench seat in the higher trims. The 4 way lumbar is available on the Sorento SX, so it also surprises me that they didn't include it on the Telluride.
@@BrantfordKia - I don't disagree that the Telluride with the bench seat is still well-equipped, but I want the head up display (I think that's only available on the top trim) and I think there's a couple of other items as well. I'm in my early 60s so I can afford the top trim, I want the top trim, and I can benefit by all of the safety equipment including the head up display. I just don't understand why Kia/Hyundai would restrict me the way they do.
Lane keep assist in the Telluride works beyond 60mph. I drove at 80mph and it worked fine with the lane assist engaged and the cruise control on, the drove itself. It would slow down stop when needed without my assistance. The only thing it can’t do it switch lanes. Wish it was wireless connectivity in my SX-P and the second sunroof could open.
Yeah, the Lane Keeping Assist doesn't work below 60 KM/H (*we're Canadian) Lane Follow Assist works at lower speeds. The new Kia Carnival has a rear opening sunroof. You're right, it would be great to see this in the Telluride as well!
Next time, when you do a comparison video, please park the cars more closer and stand in feint of them so we can see 2 car's height and width at the same time. You didn't even show the front of 2 cars side by side. I have seen both of them before but it's a pleasure to see both of them together.
I hear what you're saying, and these cars could have been lined up closer, but to compare height and width on screen, that doesn't work. I can hold the camera at different angles and you would swear that the shorter car is taller and vice versa. Specs light height and width are pretty easy to find online, so I prioritize things that don't show up in the spec sheet. I'll try to do things better, but sometimes it's not as simple as people would think.
@@BrantfordKia fair enough. I think if u use 2 to 3 cameras some steady shots and with the help of a camera man, it would look more better especially if u r doing it on a regular basis. Doing everything alone is so cumbersome.
Congrats on the view count. Looking forward to the base level Carnivals and hopefully when inventory lines up, the Forte5 EX v Rio5 EXP. As for Hyundai, I would like to see the Palisade.
We're working on getting a Palisade, but supply hasn't lined up with our availability yet. As soon as we can get that on film, we will, and we'll do them more regularly when supply picks up again.
Thank you. I always thought these would be a great comparison. I know the Korean version they have 4 rows that add to a 9 seater which when the back seats are up it eliminates trunk space. Is Canada getting this version? Also I have to say, I drive past a Kia dealership (in the states) and the other day saw someone test driving a Carnival. In person it looks so much better then videos, no offense Peter but no video does it justice. It's a stroking video and I saw a greyish color as well.
Yeah, the Korean version has 4 rows of seats, and actually sits 11 people. We won't have that one here in Canada. You're absolutely correct that the videos and pictures don't do it justice (no offense taken) this is one of those vehicles that you have to see in person to appreciate. Thanks for watching!
Great review! It looks like, because of the massive storage behind the 3rd row in the Carnival, that it won't ever come with AWD. If you look underneath, does it look like there's no room for a driveshaft? I'm not asking for any secrets from Kia Corporate, just an observation :-)
Wait, why would the storage behind the third row inhibit AWD? The Sienna and Pacifica both manage to keep both AWD and the boot just fine, so what makes the Carnival different?
Just a heads up Kia and Hyundai will stop production on some models in South Korea this week because of the Chip shortage , Hyundai Kona, Hyundai IONIC, and some others.
Honestly? I like the sliders, you get a huge opening and no risk of dinging the vehicle next to you. More vehicles should come with this, but of course if they did, people would call the vehicle a minivan! ;)
Does the 3.8 L in the Telluride have dual injection that is to say, port and direct injection (I don't think so)? I think that the 3.5 L probably has that; am I correct? That would be in my mind an advantage to the Carnival. I'm commenting as I'm watching that's why I don't have all my questions and 1 comment (I would forget stuff if I was to wait till the end).

No, the SX Carnival is the only one with that audio system.

No, you're 100 percent correct. This vehicle wasn't designed for AWD, and that allows them to design everything for cargo space, and other priorities.
Wait, why would the storage behind the third row inhibit AWD? The Sienna and Pacifica both manage to keep both AWD and the boot just fine, so what makes the Carnival different?
Darien, you’re right, It is probably more a matter of the rest of the design second row and forward.
@@darienmiller1032 Short answer, the rear area is MUCH larger on the Carnival. It would shrink if it had to fit a driveline.
Just a heads up Kia and Hyundai will stop production on some models in South Korea this week because of the Chip shortage , Hyundai Kona, Hyundai IONIC, and some others.
We'll see how that effects our supply chain. As a manufacturer, these two brands have fared far better than most.
Great as a mini van but regular doors would have been nice too, you think😜??

You're suppose to stand close to the sliding door, and it will open, like the tailgate does.
Yeah, I showed that feature in another video. I can show that again in a future video.
Does the Hyundai Santa Fe 2021 Limited have ambient lighting?
I don't believe it does.
23:20 I thought the main reason that center seat slides all over the place is for when its in table mode for when the peeps are snackin in the back.
That's another reason. I probably should have spent more time explaining that.

Im from Malaysia and really like Kia new models. Unfortunately it didnt really popular here due to poor after sales service.
Time to move to Canada!
Same here in the USA
What other colors do kia have. It always dark colors or white. Would like to see a different colors.
The best place to find colours for these vehicles are www.kia.ca
What is happening with the fuel line replacement for the carnivals?
Very few were affected. Ours have all been checked. Problem solved.
Carnival comes with awd it’s great
The Carnival is not available with AWD.
What color is that telluride?
That is Dark Moss, but it doesn't look the same under these LED lights.

I like them both. Sometimes I'll prefer one car in a class over the other, but it's never always one brand.
