I have a kia sorento 2013 and this is a perfect time for me to get this van. Happy to drive this car after 3 kids.

I am a current Kia Soul owner looking for a new, bigger cargo space. I was really excited because my kids are dogs. But then I saw the cargo section and was glad the seats went down flat, but there is no way I can carry them back there. They would break a leg or catch their feet. Oh well, on to the next vehicle. I never thought I would buy a minivan. Couldn’t see myself in it. But after I saw the carnival and the features it offers, phew! Oh man!! This is great. I am waiting to retire my forte. Still got 4 years to go(finance) and then the Carnival is coming home😃😃
Yeah, people tell you that minivans aren't cool... then they suffer in a vehicle that makes everyone miserable on a road trip, instead of living the life of luxury and ultimate comfort in something like the Carnival. Cool, is a happy family, not an extra inch of ground clearance, if you ask me!

Nice colour, it does look like a squatted SUV that was stretched out, but I like it. Lots of great tech for that trim level and tons of space. Interesting to see that the 8 inch screen kept the same looking software as other models. The higher trims I am looking forward to, but also the base model. I want to see how much value it packed in at entry level. Again, another great video Peter, hope that back is healing well. Oh and by the way.....when is the new Carnival arriving??? ;)
Haha! It would be nice if it showed up soon, eh!? Yeah, this is one vehicle that is going to be a great value at the lower trim level, and it's going to have a number of features that even the Telluride won't have at the highest trim level. It's definitely a vehicle that needs more attention on each trim. Thanks for watching!

You're likely going to have to place an order, but this colour is called Ghost Grey.
i think Kai nailed the design on this vehicle.. if the second row door handle was rearward it would be hard pressed not to think this wasn't a SUV as a matter of fact the Carnival looks more SUV like than the current gen Pilot

Downside is unless you get the top trim you get rental car like center screen..
All the competition models comes with full center console screen across the trim level.
I don't know if that's a fair criticism. An 8" screen is the base screen, it comes with wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, add on something like standard Lane Following Assist and other surprising options, and I think most people would happily take this van and not consider it to be rental car like at all.

I live in Gatineau.. where can I get a Carnival that is SRP? Every time I check online or in the marketplace, they sell for way more than the suggested retail price.. I dont mimd waiting as long as I get it on its SRP..

@@smalkani1984 We haven't made the video showing cargo space yet, but we have tried to flip the seats backwards, and they do NOT lock into place that way. We tried!!

We can't sell new vehicles to Americans. It's against Canadian dealer's franchise agreements.

We have an SX which we'll put on video today, but it's not martian brown. We'll have that one in the near future. I can do some videos showing the tight turning circle etc. For sure!
My wife likes black interior, but I prefer the brown one. 😅
@@smartmeatball I got the SX 2 months ago. The brown interior is absolutely gorgeous. Black cannot compete with it. Whoever sees it says they love it.

Haha! I had this car sitting outside on a COLD day just before we went live. It's usually around 20 degrees Celsius in the video bay when I film in the winter, and a few degrees warmer when I film in the summer. I HATE the cold! I used to film outside, and the winter was the worst! I had cameras stop working because it was too cold. I would try to hide my shivering voice when I spoke... it wasn't fun! I'm very thankful for the nice temperature-controlled studio here at Brantford Kia!

I can't find anywhere to confirm or deny this, hoping you can answer this. Is it true that only the SX Prestige has heated steering wheel available? Secondly, can you only get that last captains chairs I'm the SX Prestige or can you get the SX Prestige without those captains chairs? The captains chairs are a detriment to this van IMHO, as you have no easy access to the 3rd row and you can't remove them.
I'm guessing the Prestige trim is in the USA. In Canada, we get a heated steering wheel in the LX+ and above (so only the base LX doesn't have this feature). The "VIP Lounge chairs" are in the SX trim here. They are basically like a lounger that reclines with a foot rest.
@@BrantfordKia thanks. Sounds like your SX is our SX Prestige. I'd like to ask the local dealer but they're were super dismissive when we walked in. They said they didn't have any Carnivals, he could print a window sticker for one they are getting in like a month and then didn't want to really discuss or answer anything.
Currently driving a 2017 Sedona but this video makes me want to swap for the Carnival. I love the look of it and how the 2nd row seats come out. Great video...I really appreciate the thoroughness! Sweet looking vehicle!

That's a very popular request. I think, to be fair, you can't fault Kia with what they've done because they're selling more than they can make. But as production catches up with demand, I think you'll find Kia considering making changes. In the short term, coming out with a new package that puts the vehicle in even higher demand, may not be a winning strategy for them.

The rear-seat entertainment system that the U.S. version has is not available in Canada, but I'm told that there will be an accessory system available through Kia Canada.

Yes, we film in Canada. We have different trim packages and names for our vehicles. The basics are the exact same, but packages can vary.
My sx prestige arrived at my dealership, can't pick it up, because of a recall, something about a sensor, please let me know,
I'm not aware of that right now. It may be something specific to the range of VIN numbers that your van falls in.

What is the lowest trim for remote start? Also is there an option for a GSM network remote start from mobile phone?
In Canada, the remote start feature comes with the LX+ and above models. If you get a model with UVO Intelligence, you'll be able to start the vehicle with a cell phone app.

Yes, they go down like in a regular car.

Random question, but would you be able to tell me the height of the front seats, specifically the measurement from the ground to the seat? My husband is in a wheelchair and I am looking at this exact trim to replace our Ford Flex, but I need to know how high the seat is so I will know if he would be able to transfer into the vehicle from his wheelchair on his own.
So... that's a tough measurement. I had to eyeball it, and I measured at the hip point with the seat in its lowest position. It seems to be about 26 or 27 inches off the ground, but the forward section of the seat is higher than that. I'd love to be more accurate for you, but hopefully, that gives a general idea.

This review got us sold, we had been driving kia since optima, sportage and now carnival ex, we are waiting for an available unit in storm blue or ghost grey. 😊

@@BrantfordKia I buy a new car every year or two. Getting further and further behind in negative equity. Drives my wife insane. I've been waiting for this MPV to come to the States though. Such a great design. Very sharp. Totally beats the Mini Van stigma into the dirt. I've had cars, trucks, and SUVs. If it wasn't for the stigma, I would have been driving a mini van a long time ago. So comfortable.
The EX in Canada looks much nicer than the EX in the US. We have to buy the SX to get the nicer exterior designs.

We're based in Canada, so our trims may be a little different than yours.

I would think you can. It's the type of thing that I'd encourage you to try yourself though. Some people have VERY large child seats, and they have to swap a brand for one of them.
I tried moving the side mirror switch left/right to try to get the mirrors to angle down while in reverse. Does it not work on the Carnival?
Interesting. I haven't tried it on this van. I'll have to try later today. It's possible that it doesn't work, or that it doesn't work on all trims. In Canada, the Sorento SX is the only model that has this feature, while the lower trim lines Sorentos do not have it.

Can it be available on 0.00% financing?
Zero percent financing is usually reserved for times when dealer lots are overstocked. They use that financing rate as a way to incentivize more sales. We're in the opposite situation right now. The Carnival is a hugely popular vehicle and you need to order one and wait to get it. That doesn't make it a bad time to buy, we're having record months here, but the key as a consumer is to have a vehicle to trade. We are paying above market value for trades right now.

I don't have that spec, but I've found that the Carnival does indeed turn quite sharp. I don't think you'll have issues getting stuck somewhere.

There is no ex plus. Don't know where those roof rails came from. Those are on the next level SX.
I assure you that there is an EX Plus. We're in Canada, and this is the EX Plus for our market.
Yes! Canada vehicles are pretty pricey compared to USA. Canada's LX Plus has power lock and power lift gates. USA LXS doesn't have the power lift gates.

i fell asleep with the guy in this video talking non stop...I started to have a nightmare in which in reality I was at the dealership and he was telling me non stop about the car. I couldn't get a word in. no matter what I did. The dream turned into a feature long horror story with Steven Van Zandt as a hit man I hired to "please shut him the f off" and even he failed, couldn't stop his talking. I woke up in a sweat! damn, maybe if I buy the Kia Carnival he will stop talking.

Yeah, that's true. We'll look at doing test drive videos in the future, but for now, when we do these videos we don't talk too much about that. There are other videos that do a great job of this.

@@irenebarbre4882 You can get an accessory DVD player, but for the cost, it may also be worth considering an iPad that can have movies downloaded to it, and can be used inside or outside the vehicle. Just a thought, and a lot of our customers find that to be more cost-effective.
