So i've finally test drove both vehicles in EX trim AWD and I have to say as much as I wanted to like the Telluride the weak engine just killed it for me sadly. It is by far a great set up but man it is sluggish :( Tried to pass a car and it felt like I was towing a boat.
So with that being said i'm probably going to grab a 2022 X-Line EX Sorento , well as soon as these clowns stop playing us with the $12k markup lmao. I don't mind a mark-up but $10 -$12k is pretty ridiculous.

@@BrantfordKia a significant feature for sure. Seat length is something that RUclips influencers don’t discuss but is super important for people ordering cars online or over the phone without first sitting in one.

I really like your videos. Why the Telluride isn't available over here I really don't know. I notice with interest, that both the Telluride and Sorento now have what appear to be painted or powder coated wheels. I fell out with Kia over corrosion around the centre caps on the otherwise pristine diamond-cut alloy wheels on my 2018 Sorento GT Line S. Kia UK refused to replace them but, that's another story. However, my dealership had them refurbished as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, the corrosion quickly returned so the dealership got them powder coated in a shadow chrome finish. I had my doubts initially but, they look absolutely superb. Maybe Kia have learnt a hard lesson about fitting diamond-cut wheels. I'll never by a car with diamond-cut wheels again.
Despite the problems I had with the wheels I still love my Sorento and won't hesitate to buy another Kia when the time arrives.

Nope because of the DCT you will be replacing the transmission.
I have the 2022 sx prestige ,,I had to have my transmission replaced,,,it was in and out the shop for 45 days total,,,I live in SC ,,so I sued under the lemon law,,Kia gave me $7000 and an apology for being inconvenienced,,,,,real talk,,car drives better then ever now!!!!
@@futurenow522 atleast hyundai/kia doesnt seem to try to avoid settlement but they do seem to have a lot of reliability issues, my gf santa fe has a fire risk recall... My 2023 ex sorento is perfect so far but I do not plan on having it more than 3 years, if tranny fuck up it's on them, and the 2024 is looking sharp :p

Love your videos! Is it possible to get a 2022 Telluride SX with the 20" silver wheels from the EX (I think it's the EX) Love everything about the SX except for the blackout wheels. Don't see it as an option anywhere and I'm wondering if it's at all possible. Cheers!
You can't order different wheels from the factory, but you could probably order aftermarket wheels that suit your tastes and sell your factory rims privately. That might pay off for you by getting rims you prefer, and cover the costs by selling your rims. Just a thought.

Man I wanted the telluride bad when it came out but the I saw the Sorento and I just thought it was a bit better for me and what I wanted ultimately mainly because if the engine I just always thought the telluride is to big for the engine it has and from what I have heard is that it just feels really slow and also the digital display on the Sorento so went with that but I would like to have the 2nd row heated and cooled in the telluride and I think the leather is prob nicer as well in telluride. And lastly more space in telluride but just had to go with Sorento and I’m happy with it even thoo might need more space soon. Lol
Haha! I love your comment. I think you echo my feelings how they each have their own advantages, and it can be tough to choose one over the other, but they're both great vehicles!
What about the past fires the Sorento had in previous models. Was that a factor when you were thinking about purchasing the Sorento?
I've spent a lot of time comparing both of these models online and in person. My wife has a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe and we have 2 toddlers so we want more room for my new vehicle. Here in the US it seems like a top of the line Sorento that is comparable to a top of the line Telluride actually costs more than the Telluride where you get more space and included features. 🤷♂️
I love the exterior styling of the Sorento but the interior features and space of the Telluride. That said, if Kia could take the Sorento exterior design and combine that with a Telluride interior ... wow! 🤩😎

Is the lining around the wheels shiny metal? Or is it the 'plastic' like on the telluride next to it? It looks shiny. I was hoping when I ordered mine it wasn't the plastic, but it is. I do love my 2022 sorento x line sx prestige. Wolf grey with rust interior!!!💥
It's plastic, but it is shiny, I like to call it "Piano Black trim"

Hey Peter . I work for a KIA dealership in Illinois and the Question of "PTC heater" came up for the first time from our sales team by a customer as "option" for all trim levels via KIA Media. Is that a standard option for Canadian climate or is that optional? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated on this option
Most of our cars do have a PTC heater. I haven't gone through the specs to see which trims of which cars don't have it, but for the most part, we have them here.

The Owner's Manual can sometimes be written for several vehicles. At some point they updated the interior rearview mirror from the buttons on the front of the mirror to buttons on the bottom that are harder to see. Check to see if that's the case, otherwise, it may not have that feature.
Will the Telluride or Sorento get power 3rd row? Will the Sorento get cooled second row seats? Will the Telluride get black painted fender? The matte black makes the Telluride look cheap.
I don't know what they have planned for the future, but I wouldn't expect that on the Sorento anytime soon.
I wish kia would keep the old style automatic controls, instead of the new button ones in the Hybrid version
It seems that hybrids are coming with dial style shifters and the gasoline cars are coming with traditional shifters. I think we can expect things to be like that for the foreseeable future.

I'm not aware of any factory option, but I'm sure there are aftermarket solutions.

hi, Peter... when is or would a Firmware update for the Kia infotainment system , for 2022 ,, i really wish that the firmware update can make the infotainment system able to use a multiple usb hub .. cz only ONE USB port for android auto , and then can't use for a usb stick for music , kia needs to address this, thanks
I don't have a schedule of software updates. I'm not sure you'll have an update of that feature, that may be a hardware limitation. One workaround could be to use a bluetooth device for your music instead of a USB stick? Just a thought.

I had a 2020 Kia Sorento, bought it brand spanking new. I had the basic trim and I LOVED it unfortunately someone rear ended me and totaled my car 3 months ago 😭 I miss it everyday! For my next car I’m thinking about a high trim telluride or Sorento OR a Tesla. I’m on the fence!

You can get CarPlay on every new Sorento, but it's only wireless on the models with the 8 inch screen.
The Sorento is just a better vehicle than the Telluride in almost every aspect

@@BrantfordKia One question the Parking Sensor button beside the parking brake, what is the use of that? Also if there is no light on does that mean its activate?
@@markmcgeehan That parking sensor button turns on or off the beepers that activate at slow speeds. There are scenarios that you may want them off, like trailer towing, for instance. In general if the light is ON, the switch does what it says. where that gets confusing is if the switch says "P - OFF" in that case the light being ON would indicate that the feature is off. I believe on the Telluride it just has a "P" and in that case, if the light is on, the feature is on.
Sorento for me
You never physically got into either 3rd row. That's the one thing I came to the video for xD. You talked about storage space with 3rd rows up or down but didn't compare 3rd row passenger comfort. Not sure if I missed it but I scrubbed through multiple times.
We do have other videos of both Telluride and Sorento, where we do get into the back seat (if that's helpful).

Telluride's are pretty much order only at this point. They're in high demand! If you order one, you can get it exactly the way you like it!
Is there a way to turn off the daylight leds? Cause ive been trying to make some cheeks clap inside the telluride at night but the daylight stay on. I dont want a copper shining his flashlight on my bare ass while i go to town. Ty.

How does rear cross traffic alerts work on my 2018 Sonata Limited. There are no sensors on outside of bumper.
If you have blind-spot warning, then you have rear cross-traffic alert. There is a radar sensor behind the plastic part of your rear bumper. You can't see the sensor without taking the bumper off. It senses traffic and alerts you in the dash, or rearview camera monitor, or both, and it also beeps so that you know that something is approaching, and from which side.

You think? I don't have an opinion on this (I have ZERO fashion sense) but that's an interesting statement because one thing that almost every Telluride buyer states as a reason they like their vehicle, is because of the styling.
