- Today’s vlog takes a turn as Lionel hits the open water for a 5K swim session, and it might just be the last time we let Kaiden pick where we swim! From the usual training grind to swimming with sharks, it’s all part of adjusting to life in Kona. The focus is on dialing in swim technique, testing out some new gear, and just enjoying the rhythm of the waves. And of course, no training day in the ocean is complete without a few stories about what lurks beneath the surface!

I usually only follow the female triathletes because their videos are very open about their training and experiences . Lionel is the only triathlete male athlete which I find the videos to be entertaining, educational and insightful. His no nonsense approach to training is uplifting. Excellent job, loving the series.

I love the strange dynamic where the videographer asked Lionel antagonising questions at inappropriate times, all the while creating great content and annoying Lionel at the same time. I receive great pleasure seeing Lionel holding back his frustration whilst integrating a humorous response and how the dynamic of conversation is usually a battle of who can talk over each other until the other one stops talking. Love it!

@@mochidomo As much as I hate people calling out elite athletes, he's not wrong. I'm not a "great swimmer" but I can even see that Lionel isn't getting a great catch here... and his legs are also sinking as a byproduct of the straight arm catch (pushing down on the water before pulling back - pushes the legs down)
